Me suis matté le DVD d'Apocalyptica sorti récemment. C'est un live en Allemagne de la tournée de 2005 avec le batteur, ça thrash pas mal Par contre c'est vrai que c'est le genre de groupe a regarder en vrai live plutôt que sur sa télé, ça rend pas pareil, je garde un super souvenir de leur prestation à Hirson!
Sinon outre le live, il y a des clips qui sont pas terribles dans l'ensemble (niveau visuel et musical) dont un truc avec la chanteuse du groupe français Dolly qui chante en français et du coup ça sonne très pop rock français comme y en a à la pelle en radio, pas terrible. Y a un truc avec Nina Hagen aussi.
Enfin bref un DVD tout à fait sympathique mais sans plus

Sinon je l'ai aussi ce dvd ; c'est vrai que musicalement ça roxe pas mal, mais ils auraient pu l'enregistrer dans une salle vide que c'était pareil quoi

Helden, la chanson d'Apocalyptica en duo avec Till Lindemann, le chanteur de Rammstein, extrait de l'album Worlds Collide sortira le 17 septembre prochain.
Finnish cello-rockers APOCALYPTICA have set "7th Symphony" as the title of their seventh studio album, which is scheduled for a summer release. The CD was once again produced by Howard Benson (MOTÖRHEAD, PAPA ROACH, SEPULTURA) with "strong artistic direction" from Joe Barresi (TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, COHEED & CAMBRIA), who recently spent time in Finland with classically trained cellists Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lötjönen, Perttu Kivilaakso and drummer Mikko Sirén perfecting the final details. Dave Lombardo of SLAYER, along with several other surprise guest musicians, also participated in the project.

Finnish cello rockers APOCALYPTICA will release their seventh studio album, "7th Symphony", on August 23. The majority of the album was produced by Joe Barresi (TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, BAD RELIGION), with two other songs produced by Howard Benson (MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, MOTÖRHEAD, PAPA ROACH).
The CD's first single, "End Of Me", features Gavin Rossdale, best known as the vocalist of the British alternative rock band BUSH. The album also features a number of other notable guest performances: SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo plays on "2010", "Bring Them To Light" features Joseph Duplantier, singer and guitarist of the French death metal band GOJIRA, "Broken Pieces" is a cooperation with FLYLEAF singer Lacey Sturm and "Not Strong Enough" is sung by Brent Smith (SHINEDOWN).
Willy Ehmann, Senior Vice President Sony Music Domestic GSA, states: "We are very proud that APOCALYPTICA, one of the most innovative bands in the rock genre, is going to release its new album via Sony Music again — another of the band's excellent albums, that will once again not only include classical APOCALYPTICA elements but also a host of most interesting collaborations."
During their career, which began in 1996 with the release of the album "Plays Metallica By Four Cellos", cellists Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lötjönen, Perttu Kivilaakso and rummer Mikko Sirén have so far released six albums across seventy countries. The band have sold more than four million copies worldwide. The last two longplayers — "Apocalyptica" (2005) and "Worlds Collide" (2007) — made it into the Top Ten in most of the European album charts. On top of that, "Worlds Collide" also scored the band’s first entry into the U.S. Billboard chart.
APOCALYPTICA's albums achieved gold or platinum status in virtually every European country.
The band is set to promote the release of the new album with a worldwide tour in 2010 and beyond.

Ben même en live c'est sympa les premières fois et ensuite c'est beaucoup moins passionnant surtout depuis que c'est devenu un groupe avec des compos originales qui ne sont pas spécialement fameuses

Je les ai vu une dizaine de fois, et hormis 2/3 fois ou c'était pas terrible, ça allait du bon à l'énormissime! Après il faut l'ambiance qui va avec... Ca dépend pas mal du public ce genre! Clair qu'en fest ça le fait moyen!

Etant donné que maintenant ils ont une batterie bien mise en avant, qu'ils mettent des effets de distorsion sur leur instrument à cordes et que tout ça est assez puissant, je suis tenté de dire oui.
Exemple:
Mais au début quand ils faisaient des reprises de Metallica sans batterie et avec le son "naturel" des violoncelles c'était bien plus discutable
