New album update
Great news at the beginning of 2009!
In August 2008 Asphyx was recording 6 songs some kind of instrumental preproduction/demo just to try things out.
It turned out thát great that we have decided to use the recorded tracks for the new album. Asphyx added meanwhile 4 newer songs.
All guitars, bass and drums are already 'on tape'. Martin van Drunen will put his Voice of Hell on the (t)rack this month.
The tracks are raw, no-nonsense brutal, doomy and intense as you can expect from Asphyx.
As a bonus, the new album will include a livedvd of the Party San show 2007, the first reunionshow of the band.
Bassplayer Wannes and Lowlifemedia are ready with editing dvdrecordings.
Tracklist and artwork will be postponed soon. There's no releasedate yet.

"Sweden's Dan Swanö will mix the upcoming Asphyx album entitled Death...The Brutal Way. The album is recorded in the Sonic Assault studio and engineered by Frank Klein Douwel, who is also the live sound-mixer of Asphyx. The new album will be Asphyx' heaviest so far for sure. We know, that's a cliché, but it's simply true and if we say this, you bet it's the truth. Some titles: 'Death...The Brutal Way', 'Cape Horn', 'Der Eisenbahnmörser', 'Scorbutics', 'Riflegun Redeemer', 'Black Hole Storm', 'Asphyx II', '(They Died As They Marched)'. The album will be released in May/June this year by Century Media records. War Anthem records will release the LP version. Linear notes will be presented by Martin (Van Drunen - vocals)."

Recently reactivated Netherlands-based death metallers ASPHYX check in with the following update:

"Asphyx has finished all recordings today. It sounds killer! Now it's Dan Swanö's turn to give this masterpiece a hell of a sound in his Unisoundkitchen of doom. Mick Koopman is busy with the cover and the lay-out. So finally the release of the new album is coming near!"

New album is done!!!
The mix/mastering is done! The mix cracked the skull and the brain of mixmaster Dan Swanö. He gave the new album a hell of a sound as he never did before.

Also the frontcover and layout are finished. Hope to reveal some details about that very soon! Finally, a dark, doomy and intense new album called Death...The Brutal Way is bound to be released upon mankind within 3 months !

Bring on the dancing girls and put the champaign on ice!
