German power metallers GRAVE DIGGER have issued the following update:
"We are back from our first songwriting session from the Graveyard studios in Holland. The chemistry with Thilo was really cool and we were very creative that seven song structures have come out. METAL. Now we just have to file in these ideas before we go back to the Graveyard studio in April again.
"With the new album we will finish the concept of the 'Trilogy' which we started with 'Rheingold' and continued with 'Liberty or Death'.
"Next week we are visiting the U.S. for our promo shows in New York. As far we know, the advance sales are running very well and therefore we are planning to play in the 'wild west' as well.
"We are also on stage in South America and they will stretch from July 29, 2008 through August 4, 2008. Confirmed shows are up till now August 2 in Sao Paulo at Citibank Hall."
GRAVE DIGGER's latest album, "Liberty or Death", entered the German Media Control chart in January 2007 at position No. 30. This is the second highest chart entry in GRAVE DIGGER's history.
"Liberty or Death" was released in North America on January 30, 2007 via Locomotive Records. An e-card for GRAVE DIGGER's maxi-single "Yesterday", which was released on October 10, 2006, is available at this location.

"GRAVE DIGGER look forward to working together with their new label Napalm Records. We have observed the excellent work of the label in the past few years. Napalm did see the writings on the wall and is one of the leading companies, for example, in online promotion and marketing. They elevated older bands like ATROCITY to new heights and established newcomers like ALESTORM. Thus, we are convinced that Napalm will bring out the best in us, and in return we will deliver a masterpiece of German true metal. A storm is coming, the sea is rough, the coxswains are the veterans, only the ship is new and manned by an excellent crew who know their craft."

Plus soft et mélodique, ça change un peu, j'aime bien aussi.
Sinon Manni Schmidt a un projet parallèle, DAILY HORROR :
GRAVE DIGGER guitarist Manni Schmidt checks in with the following update:
"I just can’t keep up with the news coming so quick. Remember when I wrote that guitar recording just began last time? Well, we’ll be going on for the listening session the day after tomorrow! Yeah, you got that right! We’re all through with recording, mixing and mastering. Those who followed up on the studio diary at Grave-digger-clan.com has been up to date of course and is aware of a first self-made clip of the song 'Pray' on YouTube (below). The feedback was stunning so far! I’m really pretty much excited about how the other songs will appeal to your ears.
But I promised to take on the guitars used during recording last time. There weren’t any big surprises there, though. I smashed the whole stuff in with my two Dean MLs. For some of the short divebomb shit parts I brought in the The Beast lag and for a short intro I used a Takamine accoustic guitar. Thilo mainly used his new flame which is a Dean Vendetta Revenge, tuned up with Seymour Uebergas 4581 Duncan pickups. In addition he fetched his age-old Ibanez RG from time to time.My gauge of strings is 010-52, by the way, while Thilo prefers 009-46 strings.
And another album is finished as well: Krispin let the new ÜBERGAS album be mixed in the USA by Michael Wagener and mastered by Vince Sorg at Principal Studio. We just need to find a label now. Just check out Myspace.com/ubergas to listen in!
Since there’s some time left now prior to the Grave Digger tour I again at last can continue work on my project running under the working title of DAILY HORROR. I collected a whole big amount of ideas I have to sort now and hopefully will soon be able to record. For my work at home I use a Tonelab LE sent to me by Vox which I also utilized on GD demos and pre-production. It really sounds amazingly authentically like a tube amplifier which quite increases the fun in playing on it – which is exactly what I’m gonna do now!

"Ballad of a Hangman" et "My Blood Will Live Forever" sonnent un peu comme le retour du Digger des années 90 En pas aussi inspiré, mais sympa quand même.
