Brazilian singer/guitarist/songwriter Gus Monsanto has parted ways with the French prog-metal band ADAGIO after four years of hard work, which included a successful album and a European tour.

"We parted ways friendly," Gus said. "It has been an overwhelming experience to fill David Readman's shoes and I will take with me the great people I met on the road, the friends I made during this period, the countries I have visited. The road stories and great music I made with Stephan, Franck, Eric and Kevin will not be forgotten. They will carry on as the archangels in black they are, we are metal commandos."

Gus' departure from ADAGIO will allow him to focus in other hard rock and heavy metal projects.

"There's a lot on my plate right now. June 8 will see the release of THE LIGHTSEEKERS CD, which is a really great French hard rock band I have been working with," Monsanto said. "I also have a spankin' new project called ZYON VEGA with fellow AQUARIA members Bruno Agra (drums), Fernando Giovanetti (bass) and Alberto Kury (keyboards), plus ATLANTIDA's guitarist, Alexandre Macedo, who's been pursuing this new chapter with me."

In other news, Gus is currently in advanced talks to join a well-known U.S. hard rock band replacing a world-famous vocalist.

"I cannot tell the name of the band or anything else right now but I will disclose details as talks progress," Monsanto said.

Finally, Gus Monsanto is in the final stages of his first experience as a producer, with Brazilian metal band SKYRION, whose album is due out shortly.

Je sais que tu as été déçue par Adagio, mais quand même, de là à les traiter d'épidémie...

Mais naaaaaaaaaaan !!! Leur prestation à raismesfest m'avait bien réconciliée avec le groupe et j'aime beaucoup leur dernier album

Du coup je suis déçue pour le coup... pour de vrai !!

Ah ouais, c'est con... C'était pas le meilleur chanteur du monde, mais il avait bien la pêche sur scène au moins !

Et vlan, Archangels In Black reprend un an dans la vue... En fait Stephan Forte n'a pas d'inspiration pour ce nouvel album donc il tente tout ce qu'il peut pour retarder l'échéance (tournée au japon, départ du chanteur...)

Bah ça m'étonnerait quand même... Au concert de Marty Friedman l'an dernier Stéphan Forté m'avait dit qu'il était déjà presque terminé ! (confidence sur l'oreiller !! )

Je suis pas choqué de ce départ et cela ne m'inquiete pas le moindre du monde.
Ce type chante très bien certes mais pour moi ne colle pas à ADAGIO, il est pas assez... elitiste ! non je déconne, pour être plus sérieux, il est sur scene trop exité... son charisme scénique est bon pour faire un MAIDEN, pas pour un ADAGIO qui demande plus de candeur, de classe et d'humilité... ce qui n'empeche pas d'être un bon frontman comme David REDMAN qui a cela lui.
Bref, kek'part ca me rassure même ... il était pas fait pour ADAGIO, voyons voir ce que Stephan nous sortira de derrière les fagots.

Long-running American hard rock band TAKARA, whose early recordings featured the vocals of legendary singer Jeff Scott Soto (TALISMAN, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, JOURNEY), has announced the addition of former ADAGIO frontman Gustavo Monsanto to the group's ranks. Monsanto will make his recording debut with TAKARA on the band's as-yet-untitled new album, which is currently being recorded at Big Swede Studios in Los Angeles with engineer Stephan Svenson and producer/TAKARA guitarist Neal Grusky. The CD will include a re-recording of the song "Spotlight" from the band's first LP, "Eternal Faith". Plans are also underway for the release of a TAKARA live CD/DVD and best-of record as well as a collection of previously unreleased demo recordings from 1988.

TAKARA's current recording lineup is rounded out by YNGWIE MALMSTEEN members Bjorn Englen (bass) and Patrick Johannson (drums), and longtime TAKARA keyboardist Brook Hansen.

Commented Gus: "It is finally official: I will be flying to Los Angeles really soon to finish the vocals on TAKARA's new album. I've been following the band for a long time and the fact they think highly enough of my work to replace Jeff Scott Soto in the band. I met Jeff a while ago, who gave me his full blessings when I mentioned the negotiations with TAKARA and I also had a blast with Patrick Johansson, the drummer in the band when he was in Brazil to play with Yngwie. I am really busy finishing lyrics and melodies in my home studio and will keep you all posted about this new endeavour."

According to Finland's Imperiumi.net, French neo-classical metallers ADAGIO have tapped Finnish singer Christian Palin to replace the recently departed Gus Monsanto.

Palin is a member of the Swedish/Finnish combo ESSENCE OF SORROW and RANDOM EYES. The latter group just landed the Finnish album chart at position No. 18 with its latest effort, "Invisible".

Palin will make his live debut with ADAGIO at the Castle festival in Smederevo, Serbia on July 3,
