Un album de reprises (en fait plutôt une compilation des reprises que le groupe a pu faire depuis ses débuts) et un DVD qui fait une rétrospective des cinq dernières années sortiront le 27 juin. Mouais...

On June 27, two new HAMMERFALL releases will see the light of day: a DVD continuing chronicling the band's career, and a covers CD — a collection of all the covers recorded by HAMMERFALL to date plus three new, unreleased ones. Incidentally, this will be guitarist Stefan Elmgren's last release with HAMMERFALL.

* "Rebels With A Cause - Unruly, Unrestrained, Uninhibited" DVD:

The DVD will be a continuation of the previous two ("The First Crusade" and "The Templar/Renegade Crusades") and will contain newly recorded interviews with the band interspersed with footage from their own cameras. The time span is six years, from the beginning of 2002 until the end of 2007, and it's edited together as a documentary of sorts, i.e. one continuous film, but of course with chapters. Also included will be all six promo videos made during the time in question plus some behind the scenes, four professionally filmed live songs from Filderstadt 2005, five TV clips they have purchased the rights to from SVT (the Swedish national television network) and some more homemade stuff as bonus. The complete running time is estimated to be almost three hours.

Le seul problème est que je commence à préférer leurs reprises à leurs morceaux à force

Ils n'ont vraiment plus grand chose à proposer les HAMMERFALL. Ce groupe est pour moi artistiquement mort.

ce groupe est une caricature sans un seul brin d'originalité .
Quant à sortir un nouveau truc , pourquoi ne pas sortir un peu des sentiers battus ?
ATROCITY avait , à l'époque, sorti un très bon album de covers de hits new wave des années 80 , pourquoi sortir un album de covers de morceaux hard ?
va falloir que ça tienne la route ! et quand je dis "tienne la route" : si c'est pour nous refourguer note pour note les morceaux , ce n'est vraiment pas la peine ! si ce n'est pour nous prouver , une fois de plus, qu'ils n'ont aucune imagination !
quant à la pochette de l'album....je crains le pire

Euh, les 4/5 des reprises sont déjà disponibles sur les albums et diverses éditions limitées, donc on peut déjà se faire une opinion.

On aime ou pas le résultat, et l'intérêt de ce genre de compilation est toujours un peu limité, mais ces groupes sont bien leurs influences, alors je ne vois pas pourquoi ils devraient avoir honte de les montrer en reprenant ces morceaux.
Sinon HAMMERFALL n'est clairement pas le groupe de l'originalité et du renouvellement, mais à ma connaissance ils n'ont jamais prétendu rechercher le contraire non plus.

Et puis surtout, l'album de reprises sera dispo avec le DVD. C'est un beau package et c'est toujours plus intéressant que les coffrets du genre "un DVD live + CD live du même concert" par exemple

faire un album de reprise c'est une chose, mais y mettre une majorité de titres déjà disponible c'est un peu too much à mon goût... c'est pire qu'un best of, ça sert à rien...et après on va nous dire que si ça se vend pas c'est à cause du téléchargement

Swedish melodic metallers HAMMERFALL will enter Andy La Rocque's (KING DIAMOND) Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden on September 22 to continue recording their eighth full-length album, due on February 20, 2009 via Nuclear Blast Records. The as-yet-untitled CD will include an instrumental written by the group's latest addition, guitarist Pontus Norgren (THE POODLES, TALISMAN, GREAT KING RAT), and a song entitled "One of a Kind", which was written as a collaboration between HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak and IN FLAMES axeman Jesper Strömblad (who was a member of HAMMERFALL in the band's earliest incarnation).

Pontus Norgren joined HAMMERFALL as the replacement for Stefan Elmgren, who left the band in early April to focus on his new career as a pilot.

HAMMERFALL's "Masterpieces" CD — a collection of all the covers the band has recorded to date plus three previously unreleased versions of other artists' songs — recently entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 69. Meanwhile, HAMMERFALL's "Rebels With A Cause - Unruly, Unrestrained, Uninhibited" DVD chronicling the last few years of the band's career landed on the German chart at No. 81 (German chart rules allow music DVDs to enter album charts).

Tiens ça me fait penser que je l'ai acheté cet album, et que j'arrive pas a le retrouver !!

pfff vraiment faible ce nouveau dvd !
Une longue interview, des tranche de vie en tournée, en général pas drôle... Quelques clips et des extrais live faiblard... (le groupe fait plus les coeurs en live ?)
Bref, le genre de truc qui devrait être mis en dvd bonus d'un nouvel album...
