L'album est terminé, Leid Eidling promet que ça va doomer sévère :
Legendary Swedish doom metallers CANDLEMASS have completed work on their new album for an early 2009 release.
Commented bassist/songwriter Leif Edling: "We've worked on [the CD] all autumn and it feels really good that it is completed. The sound is superfat, heavy as hell, and very organic/dynamic at the same time. Our friend Chris [Laney; RANDY PIPER, ZAN CLAN] has done a great job mixing it!! I personally think this album is the best one of the three we have released in the new millennium, easy!! It is bigger, better, louder and a bit more mature, I must say!! It is our 'Heaven And Hell', hehe. And if you guys behave and eat your vegetables, we just might be able to add a couple of sound bits on the C-MASS site. Maybe the wait for the release in May next year will be easier. Check this page sometime before X-mas. The only thing that pisses me off is the fact that we can't call it 'Hammer Of Doom', after one of the songs on it. A brand new stupid festival in Germany calls themselves that! Who spilled the beans??? Well, well… the album absolutely KILLS and we will surely come up with a suitable name for it."

S'il est de la trempe du précédent, ça risque de doomer vraiment sévère !

Clair qu'autant je n'aime rien chez Candlemass (hormis le premier album), autant King of the Grey Islands est un fantastique album.
Par contre, j'ai pas trop envie qu'ils se précipitent. Les trois titres du maxi sortis dernièrement sont quand même bien moisis et ce que j'ai écouté sur le MySpace ne m'a pas convaincu plus que ça

Bon en tout cas ça sonne bien ces (trop courts) extraits, c'est déjà mieux que Lucifer Rising.

J'aime beaucoup "King of the Grey Island", mais je reste quand même un inconditionnel de Messiah Marcolin et des quatre premiers albums...

bizarre mais pour moi candlemass sans marcollin c'est un peu comme maiden sans dickinson, priest sans halford ou Saxon sans byff byfford.
Les albums Ancient dream, Nightfall et tales of creation sont fantastiques tout comme le live de 2002 et l'album blanc sorti en 2005.

pareil c'est pour ça que j'ai traîne des pieds avant d'acheter "KIng of the grey island", que j'ai finalement pris après leur prestation au Hellfest (et puis il était qu'à 10 euros neuf alors ). Au final, pas si déçu que ça que Marcollin ce soit tiré.

ça s'annonce bien, même si j'ai un peu peur de l'effet "Lucifer Rising" à savoir des refrains qui se répétent à l'infini, ça m'a fait un peu cet effet sur le premier extrait notamment... m'enfin on verra bien le résultat final.

tiens c'est marrant ça me ferait plutôt penser à un groupe anglais dont le chanteur est pilote d'avion
