Guitarist/vocalist Peter Tägtgren of Swedish extreme metallers HYPOCRISY has issued the following update:
"Mikael [Hedlund; bass] came to the Abyss [Peter's recording studio] the other day and between me and him we have 13 songs done [for the next HYPOCRISY album], and Horgh [drums; also in IMMORTAL] will come to studio beginning of January and crack the drums on it."
HYPOCRISY reissued its 2002 album "Catch 22" under the title "Catch 22 V2.0.08" on May 9. Peter Tägtgren re-recorded the guitar parts, his vocals and remixed and remastered the LP for the new version of the album, which featured bonus material.
The band previously stated about its decision to re-release the CD, "We still think it is a great fucking album but it got slammed and misunderstood because of the vocal style and the drum sound and so on."

C'est bizarre, mais je croyais que ce n'était pas prévu pour tout de suite (pas avant 2010), voir même pas du tout planifié...
et puis entre la promo du dernier Pain, l'enregistrement du Immortal, Peter a peu de temps !

Quelques news sur l'avancement :
"Hi Everyone,
It's been awhile since the last update...
As you know Peter has been busy touring with Pain during the first half of this year. But in between the tours, vocals has been recorded. Three songs are finished with vocals so far. Ten more to go until the final mixing will begin.
The plan was to be finished with the album in the first quater of this year and to release it in the summer. But we're very sorry to let you know that it's not gonna happen. During the recording process we realized that we would't make it in time. We don't want to stress just to get it out, because this album is going to be the best we've ever done! We're going to make a new release plan with our record company and the album will be out later this year. The cover for the album is already decided but before we make it offical we would like to set the title for it.
There are still some work to do but we'll let you know how it's going.
We can't wait for it to be released and finally go on tour again!

Super... Et ce sera quoi ? Du doom death ? Du doom athmosphérique ? Du death mélodique ? Du black ? Du thrash moderne ? un truc goth pop ?
Je supporte pas ce groupe qui bouffe à tous les râteliers, incapable de pratiquer un style propre, qui compose des trucs bateau à deux balles, et qui malgré ça rempli les salles et vend à fond.
Et le père Tägtgren, je peux plus l'encadrer... même des albums comme Penetralia et Osculum Obscenum me sont devenus insupportables. Alors qu'à la base, c'est quand-même bien yeah...

Moi j'ai bien envie de les revoir sur scène, c'est toujours bien sympa Et justement j'aime beaucoup le fait qu'ils varient leur style de death avec des trucs "bourrins" et des passages plus atmo, Tas de graines rulZ

HYPOCRISY vient de dévoiler l'artwork de son prochain album que vous pouvez voir ci-contre, en grand format à la fin de cette newz. Intitulé "A Taste Of Extreme Divinity", ce nouvel opus des Suédois sortira le 23 octobre prochain chez Nuclear Blast Records. Selon les dires de Peter l'enregistrement et le mixage seraient quasi terminés. Une tournée européenne en tant que tête d'affiche devrait avoir lieu début 2010. »

JE VEUX!!! J'ai trop hâte! J'avais adoré Virus et The Arrival, et là cette atmosphère doomesque (ou black?) (quoique bizarrement je pense à Morgana Lefay en voyant cette pochette) me fait carrément trop envie!

Merci, ça m'évite de chercher dans la discographie du groupe ! Ça confirme ma première impression
personne ne l'a acheté ? moi j'en suis qu'à la 2ème écoute, je le trouve concluant pour le moment. il est moins accrocheur que les derniers, je pense que c'est le genre d'album où on sent que c'est du bon mais qu'il faut un peu creuser... mais pour l'instant je suis plutôt convaincu pour ma part !
