ça avait déjà été évoqué mais Timo Tolkki confirme qu'il veut enregistrer un album avec les anciens membres de Stratovarius de l'époque Dreamspace, chanté par lui-même donc. Return to Dreamspace serait prévu pour fin septembre.
Ça sent le nouveau pétage de câble ou le défi envers les autres car il ne sait pas encore s'il va l'appeler Stratovarius ou non

Mais bon si ça se confirme moi ça me va c'est mon époque préférée du groupe (si si)

Timo Tolkki (REVOLUTION RENAISANCE, STRATOVARIUS) has announced that he will record another album with former STRATOVARIUS members Tuomo Lassila (drums) and Anti Ikonen (keyboards). Tentatively titled "Return To Dremspace", the CD is slated for a September 2009 release. The fans will decide the name of the project in some sort of contest. Tolkki says, "If the fans decide that it should be called STRATOVARIUS, then it will. Then I will face the consequences, but that will be one interesting trial, I tell you that."

Regarding the musical direction of the CD, Tolkki said, "It has been 15 years from [STRATOVARIUS' 'Dreamspace'] album, so it will be interesting, for sure... It's not a 'remake,' but a brand new album. A closure for [what] I consider to be the end of STRATOVARIUS. It completes the cycle and returns to the beginning."

Tolkki drew up and signed an official waiver on May 20, 2008 giving up all rights to the STRATOVARIUS name. The remaining STRATOVARIUS members — Timo Kotipelto (vocals), Jens Johansson (keyboards) and Lauri Porra (bass) — have since announced plans to carry on with new guitarist Matias Kupiainen.

Dreamspace étant l'album qui m'a fait découvrir Strato, je serai plus que curieux d'écouter ce nouveau disque ! D'autant que si sa voix est plutôt "juste" (c'est pas un chanteur né quoi), ça sonnait plutôt bien !

Ah bah quand même !! A défaut de faire de la zik il va recommencer à nous faire rire !

Pareil, j'aime beaucoup le timbre de Tolkki sur ces premiers albums, notamment Dreamspace et Twilight Time.

In 1982, Tuomo Lassila (drums) formed STRATOVARIUS and came up with the band's name. Timo Tolkki (guitar) and Antti Ikonen (keyboards) joined the band in 1984 — that is some 25 years ago, and as a result the group recorded such classic albums as "Twilight Time", "Dreamspace" and "Fourth Dimension". After the departure of Lassila and Ikonen in 1995, STRATOVARIUS went to more neo-classical sound and style exploring Timo Tolkki's songwriting and producing skills earning the band a Finnish Grammy and sales exceeding over two million records. After Tolkki's departure from STRATOVARIUS in late 2007, an idea was born to get the classic "Dreamspace" lineup together for an album. As a result, the summer 2009 will be spent writing and demoing songs for a late 2009 release tentatively titled PROJECT STRATO: "Return To Dreamspace". This album will see Timo Tolkki handling the vocals again and the fans of the "Twilight Time"/"Dreamspace" era will surely not be disappointed.

C'est un peu ridicule mais au moins ça ne s'appellera pas Stratovarius, histoire d'éviter le procès sans doute.

Je reste quand même intéressé par le résultat.

je pensais que le projet était aux oubliettes mais non,finalement l'album sortira au mois de janvier 2012...

après la déception qu'est Symfonia (faut dire, même la voix de Matos ne rattrape pas le truc, faut le faire) j'ai pas du tout envie de voir une énième copie de Stratovarius, repompée et réarrangée mais toujours le même truc. Au moins Stratovarius (l'actuel groupe) arrive à faire quelque chose de bien même sans Tolkki

Les 2 seul albums que j'ai, sont Twilight Time et Dreamspace (préférence pour ce dernier). Donc à voir, plutôt à écouter

Tolkki aurait abandonné l'idée de nouveaux morceaux visiblement, puisqu'il s'agira simplement de 12 réenregistrements des 3 premiers albums de Stratovarius, avec DVD bonus.

Tentatively due on October 29, 2012, the double album will include over two hours of music and will feature guest appearances by Michael Kiske (< b="">, HELLOWEEN), Jens Johansson (STRATOVARIUS), Derek Sherinian (BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, DREAM THEATER), Tuomo Lassila (the founder of STRATOVARIUS) on drums, Michael Vescera (OBSESSSION, LOUDNESS, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) on vocals and Michele Luppi (THAUROROD, ex-VISION DIVINE) on vocals. In addition, Tolkki, Lassila and Antti Ikonen (original STRATOVARIUS keyboardist) will re-record 12 songs from the first three STRATOVARIUS albums for a separate CD called "Dreaming In Twilight". A digipack version of the "Dreaming In Twilight" album will include a bonus DVD featuring footage of Tolkki, Lassila and Ikonen performing those songs live in the studio recorded with six cameras.

Il me manque justement les 3 premiers Strato (ainsi que l'éponyme de 2005 ), ce disque est peut être fait pour moi.

J'aurais préféré qu'il continue Symfonia avec le père Dédé, j'avais été agréablement surpris par cet album.

Cela dit on peut objectivement dire qu'en live c'était encore plus qu'à chier

Je crois qu'ils ont fait un seul concert, non? Pour un festival en Finlande...
Perso, je ne me permets jamais de donner un avis définitif pour un seul concert, auquel je n'étais même pas, que l'avis soit positif ou négatif... Les vidéos que j'avais vues étaient tout à fait correctes, m'enfin difficile d'en dire plus quoi.

il me semble qu'ils ont aussi joué au sonisphère de l'année dernière.

Exact...et je pense que malgré le son désagréable, on peut aisément dire que c'était à chier. Des gens pour confirmer?
