CIVILIZATION ONE, the band led by singer Chitral "Chity" Somapala (ex-FIREWIND, FARO, AVALON) and bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (MALADAPTIVE, ex-HEAVENLY), is preparing to enter Pelissound Studio in France to begin recording its sophomore album for a late 2009 release. The CD will be mixed by Markus Teske (VANDEN PLAS, AMASEFFER, DOMINICI).
Commented Somapala: "It was already recorded earlier with the old band members. Due to [the lack of] interest of the old members towards the band, myself and the bassist decided to go searching for replacements with a professional attitude! I was quite disappointed but now I personally feel all happened for the best. We have killer songs and I guarantee this will be a brilliant album with versatility."
CIVILIZATION ONE in December announced the addition of British guitarist Tim Mills (ex-ICED EARTH, ELKIE BROOKS) to the group's ranks.
The band performed in Colombo, Sri Lanka on November 29 as part of the TNL Onstage event at the SLECC (Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre). This marked the first time a Western metal group has played in Sri Lanka, and it was a homecoming for Chity Somapala, the Sri Lankan-born singer who has been living in Europe for 22 years. Back in his home country, he did the remarkable "Lion Beer Song" which was played on radio/TV commercials throughout the country and during international cricket events.
CIVILIZATION ONE, the band led by singer Chitral "Chity" Somapala (ex-FIREWIND, FARO, AVALON) and bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (MALADAPTIVE, ex-HEAVENLY), has finished recording its sophomore album, "Calling the Gods".
Having overcome the obstacles posed by several lineup changes, CIVILIZATION ONE has produced an LP that "continues with the sound forged on their debut release, 'Revolution Rising', but now with more of an emphasis placed on melodic hooks and melodies," according to a press release.
"Calling The Gods" was mixed by Markus Teske (VANDEN PLAS, SYMPHONY X, MOB RULES, SAGA), and features a guest solo by HELLOWEEN guitarist Sascha Gerstner

CIVILIZATION ONE, the band led by singer Chitral "Chity" Somapala (ex-FIREWIND, FARO, AVALON) and bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (MALADAPTIVE, ex-HEAVENLY), has announced its new lineup:
CIVILIZATION ONE is currently mixing is sophomore album, "Calling The Gods", with Markus Teske (VANDEN PLAS, MOB RULES, DOMINICI) and will begin shopping the effort to interested record labels.
Having overcome the obstacles posed by several lineup changes, CIVILIZATION ONE has produced an LP that "continues with the sound forged on their debut release, 'Revolution Rising', but now with more of an emphasis placed on melodic hooks and melodies," according to a press release.
"Calling The Gods" features a guest solo by HELLOWEEN guitarist Sascha Gerstner. Somapala states, "We don't sound like every other metal band, and 'Calling The Gods', has elements for all metal fans in every facet of the genre.
"In 2008 we made a huge impact in my home country of Sri Lanka as CIVILIZATION ONE was the first international metal act to ever play in Sri Lanka, performing in front of 4000 people; we were invited back again this year, and were welcomed as returning heroes.
"CIVILIZATION ONE plans to leave the same impact on the rest of the world upon the release of 'Calling The Gods', hitting the stage wherever quality heavy metal is appreciated."

PE?
CIVILIZATION ONE, the band led by singer Chitral "Chity" Somapala (ex-FIREWIND, FARO, AVALON) and bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (MALADAPTIVE, ex-HEAVENLY), has released the following statement:
"We have been announcing our second album, 'Calling The Gods', following our 'Revolution Rising' debut in 2007. Unfortunately, due to economy crisis and lack of interest from labels, we came to a point where we have to close the chapter.
"We would like to kindly thank all the past and present members for their contribution from 2006 until 2010 and all the supporters/fans all over the planet.

A suivre donc.
