"The history of Heavy Metal is long and strong with many pioneers blazing paths of passion and unparalleled talent. Magic Circle Music perpetuates that history. It is a label with the belief that creativity is like fine wine, it only gets better with time. Thus, the signing of power metal pioneer and co-founder of Virgin Steele, JACK STARR, was right on target. Starr's creative maturity has produced stellar vintage with his new release, DEFIANCE, produced by Joey DeMaio of MANOWAR. Regrouping with former band, Burning Starr, featuring Ned Meloni on bass and vocal sensation, Todd Michael Hall, has proven to be the perfect formula for creative cuvee that was fermented to perfection, bottled, labeled and put out on the market exclusively for power metal connoisseurs. Starr took the formula to another level with this creation. He injected international flavor drawing from the musical spices of many countries and musically intoxicating listeners with this unique blend. DEFIANCE is proof positive that Jack Starr has not only written metal history, but is blazing a new path right into its future."

J'ai écouté l'album (en fond sonore) hier soir et ça n'a pas l'air mal du tout... Ce petit coté épique, ces chœurs à la ManOwaR période Hail To England, Into Glory Ride etc... ( :true: ).

L'album No Turning Back de 1986 est réédité :
No Turning Back! - the classic JACK STARR'S BURNING STARR album from 1986, will be reissued in July via Skol Records. This will be the first official CD re-release of this album since 1998: the album features new artwork (painted by the famous Polish artist Tomasz Oracz), is remastered by Bart Gabriel (CRYSTAL VIPER, SACRED STEEL, LONEWOLF) and will include two bonus tracks and thick booklet with all lyrics and many previously unseen photos. CD will be limited to only 1000 copies, and its official premiere has been scheduled for July 25th.

No Turning Back! - which is often labeled as "one of the best US power metal albums ever" - was recorded by the following line up:
Jack Starr - guitars (ex-VIRGIN STEELE, ex-PHANTOM LORD)
Mike Tirelli - vocals (MESSIAH'S KISS, ex-HOLY MOTHER)
Keith Collins - bass guitar (ex-SAVATAGE, ex-AVATAR)
Mark Edwards - drums (ex-RIOT, ex-EXORCIST, ex-STEELER)
David DeFeis - keyboards (Virgin Steele, Exorcist)

In other news: Jack Starr's Burning Starr will play an exclusive show at the 2013 edition of the Keep It True Festival in Germany. The group's setlist will include classic songs from the early Jack Starr's Burning Starr albums, songs taken from the band's new CD, Land Of The Dead, and select cuts from Starr's previous bands Virgin Steele, Phantom Lord and GUARDIANS OF THE FLAME. The entire show will be filmed for a special DVD release, which will be out in 2014 - the 30th anniversary of Jack Starr's Burning Starr. Also in the works are other European live shows for 2013.

Since the comeback of JACK STARR'S BURNING STARR in 2009 with the brilliant studio album called "Defiance", both band's career and Jack Starr's (ex-VIRGIN STEELE) solo career have been on the rise. In 2010 the band signed with Limb Music, the German label who promptly released next studio album, "Land Of The Dead", in 2011. The LP received rave reviews and is considered by many to be one of the best albums of 2011. The album featured the exact same lineup as "Defiance", including the fiery drumming of the ex-MANOWAR drummer Rhino, the spot-on vocals of Todd Micheal Hall and the solid bass playing of Ned Meloni — longtime member and songwriting contributor of the band — and guest appearances by Ross The Boss (ex-MANOWAR, SHAKIN' STREET, DICTATORS) and David Shankle (ex-MANOWAR, DSG). One year later, Skol Records reissued the legendary and classic second BURNING STARR album "No Turning Back!" from 1986, with brand new front cover artwork, and which is often listed as one of the very best U.S. power metal albums.

The recent activities of Jack Starr also include guest solos on new album of the Australian band DRAGONSCLAW, Lebanese band ZIX, where he played on a track with former BLACK SABBATH singer Tony Martin, and various compilations, including the Italian tribute album to STRANA OFFICINA, and Texas metallers WITCHMARK's debut album. Earlier in 2013, BURNING STARR recorded live DVD at the Keep It True festival in Germany. 2013 also saw the re-release of "Out Of The Darkness", the much-acclaimed solo album from 1984 that featured Jack Starr and Rhett Forrester — former singer of RIOT, and members of THE RODS and RAINBOW. Even more reissues are planned for this year: the two legendary PHANTOM LORD albums and DEVIL CHILDE mini album, that were recorded in the '80s by Jack Starr with Ned Meloni (another JACK STARR'S BURNING STARR member) and Joe Hasselvander (RAVEN, PENTAGRAM), will be reissued by Italian label Minotauro Records. In 2014, another reissue will see the light of the day: the ultra-rare self-titled album from 1989 (so-called "The Orange Album"), will be released in CD format in its original form first time ever, with all tracks recorded during that particular session — mastered from the original tapes — and with fat booklet with many previously unseen photos.

Jack Starr and the boys have been busy, but the real news is the impending release of an all new original album, scheduled for 2014, entitled "Stand Your Ground", which promises to be a fire-breathing monster of an album. As Jack has said in a recent interview: "Some bands from the Eighties lose steam and make albums that are less and less powerful as the years go by. BURNING STARR does the opposite: as the years go by, our albums are getting heavier, better played and feature stronger songwriting."

BURNING STARR will be back in Europe in 2014 playing festivals and clubs in a full tour that promises to see the band doing what it does best: delivering classic U.S. power metal with virtuoso playing and melodic songwriting that rocks.

Prochain album cet été, avec une pochette déjà utilisée par d'autres. :D
"Stand Your Ground", the long-awaited new studio album from U.S. power metal act JACK STARR'S BURNING STARR, will be released on August 25 via High Roller Records. The effort, which is almost 80 minutes long, was produced by Bart Gabriel (with whom the band already worked on the previous album, "Land Of The Dead"), recorded and mixed by Kevin Burnes (DOKKEN, RAVEN), and mastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony Studio. The release will be available as CD, double LP, and digital download. Like in case of previous two BURNING STARR albums, its cover artwork was painted by Ken — legendary artist known from his iconic works for bands such as RAINBOW, KISS and MANOWAR.
