And that’s certainly true of us too. But we never give up, because we’re doing a whole bunch of mainstream festivals this year - Coachella, Roskilde, we did Download. There’s always opportunities to reach new people. So you never know. There are plenty stories of bands who were tribe bands for years, and then overnight, just suddenly something clicks, or the right song. Yet for some bands, it was the beginning of the end in a way; sometimes it can be a negative thing. But listen, I’ve never thought about our music as being particularly difficult or exclusive. I think, actually, like a band like PINK FLOYD, our music is quite accessible, really! So we keep fighting to try to infiltrate the mainstream any way we can. But I’m realistic and I know that certainly our core very much comes from word-of-mouth and touring, and nothing will ever change that.”

le vrai public mainstream c'est plutôt quand tu rempli bercy, c'est plutôt le public qui écoute radiohead, placebo, metallica etc. du au matraquage médiatique.

C'est pas parce que ça passe à la radio que c'est mainstream...il y a des trucs qui marchent tu sais pas pourquoi...

Porcupine tree c'est pas connu a cause du visuel, on connait car on aime la musique.

après il y a radio et radio... ça dépend si on parle de l'émission de grind a minuit sur une petite station ou du 13h sur radio france...
et puis qui écoute encore la radio a l'heure d'internet et du streaming de tous les côtés?

ils auraient pû virer les mièvres et dispensable:

de fear of a blank planet, qui sont pour moi du gros remplissage en comparaison du reste des morceaux particulièrement bon.
ça aurait fait près de 20min de show, libre pour d'autres morceaux de leur carrière bien plus intéressant,
tout ça pour faire genre "zavez vu on peut jouer tout lalbum entier ça le fait hein?" ben non, c'est une vieille mode en fait les gars.

J'avais pris leur "anesthetize" y a plus d'un an à Rock'n'Roll Voltage mais je l'ai toujours pas regardé, et les ayant vus sur la tournée "Incident", je vais faire l'impasse sur celui-là.
Ils ont beau toujours proposer un rendu très énergique sur scène, et accessoirement sur leurs retranscriptions audio / vidéo également, aussi longtemps qu'il persistera à faire autant l'impasse sur leur première période, a fortiori la plus intéressante et injustement délaissée, je ne pourrai pas m'empêcher de penser que l'intérêt d'aller les voir diminue de tournée en tournée.
À quand une résurrection de "Voyage 34", "Moonloop", "Staircase Infinities", "The Sky Moves Sideways" ou "Signify" ?
À titre très personnel, je pense qu'ils ont énormément perdu en potentiel en s'orientant définitivement dans cette nouvelle brèche à l'orée des '00s.

Cette tournée était bien bien cool quand même. Hatesong et Russia On Ice ont bien fait plaisir. Par contre je n'irais pas acheter le DVD, qui va sonner comme un album studio. Le vrai problème de PT, c'est l'impression d'entendre le CD sur scène. Un peu trop propre tout ça.

Pas faux.
Mais d'un autre côté on peut difficilement en demander plus à quelqu'un qui n'a toujours juré que par le studio, au point d'en finir avec un charisme zéro sur scène.
En parlant de ça, s'il pouvait avoir la gentillesse de laisser tranquilles les disques de King Crimson et E.L.P., ça serait sympa.
En revanche ce qui puait bien sur la tournée, c'est justement le fait d'avoir seulement joué la première partie de "Russia On Ice", et "The Pills I'm Taking" en lieu et place de l'intégralité d'"Anesthetize".
Je sais pas, tu joues tout ou rien, jamais compris cette propension à tronquer des morceaux comme ça.
Tout aussi absurde que si on se contentait de jouer la 4ème partie de "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"...
Et ensuite quoi, des medley à la con comme Blackie ?
