J'aurais jamais cru :o :evilbang:

Symphonic black metal masters LIMBONIC ART have returned from the dead! On 06.06.06, the group's two members, Daemon and Morfeus, decided to recurrect the band and have written and recorded a new album. The band has re-signed with Nocturnal Art Productions/Candlelight Records, and the comeback CD, entitled "Legacy of Evil", is set for release this summer. According to a press release, "LIMBONIC ART strike back with full force, more intense and malevolent than ever. This is a well-crafted black metal massacre, with heart and soul!'

Formed in 1993, LIMBONIC ART for a short time existed as a four-member project. It wasn't until inventor Daemon met up with local musician Morfeus, however, that the true nucleus and unconventional concept of the band was found. With the duo thus sorting all areas of what most would consider a "normal" band relationship, Daemon and Morfeus completed a four-track rehearsal tape that would merely hint at the band's distinctive take on symphonic black metal.

Fast forward to 1996 and shortly after hearing the band's only recorded material; Nocturnal Art Productions owner Samoth (ZYKLON, EMPEROR) instantly offered LIMBONIC ART a recording deal. That autumn the band's much-revered debut, "Moon in the Scorpio", was recorded and later released. The debut album led to great recognition in the extreme metal scene worldwide, and fast established LIMBONIC ART as of the best new bands to come out of the Norwegian scene. "In Abhorrence Dementia" (1997), "Epitome of Illusions" (1998), "Ad Noctum - Dynasty of Death" (1999) and two collectable box sets ("Chronicles of Limbo" six-picture-disc box, 2000) and "Volume 1-4" CD box, 2001) followed, finding the band further widespread acclaim. Touring, festival appearances, including their headline (and U.S. debut) at the 2001 Milwaukee Metal Fest, as well as outside interests (Daemon's vocal duties on ZYKLON's debut album "World of Worms", and Morfeus' side-project DIMENSION F3H) kept the duo amassed in creative outpourings through the early millennium. In 2002, LIMBONIC ART returned with arguably their pre-eminent opus. The band's final album, "The Ultimate Death Worship", was hailed as the band's crowning achievement. Since the departure the two members have been active on different fronts, Daemon with his thrash metal band SARCOMA INC., and Morfeus with DIMENSION F3H, both releasing full-length albums.

Limbonic Art's ninth full-length album, Opus Daemoniacal, will be released on June 28 via Kyrck Productions & Armour. A visualizer for the new single, "Consigned To The Flames, can be found below.

Opus Daemoniacal is black as a raven, fierce as a wolf, majestic as an eagle, and mighty as the legendary Norwegian black metal pioneers that mastermind, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Vidar "Daemon" Jensen founded in 1993 have always been.

Opus Daemoniacal continues along the more straightforward black metal path that the Norwegian has chosen for his last releases yet this album also deliberately harks back to the dense atmospheric and cinematic feel of Limbonic Art's groundbreaking early works.

Limbonic Art released their debut album, Moon In The Scorpio, in 1996 via Nocturnal Art Productions, the label of Emperor guitarist Samoth, aka Tomas Thormodsæter Haugen, after the band's early tapes had captured his ear. Their at the time quite unique combination of harsh Nordic black metal with cinematic elements inspired by romantic and classic orchestral music proved extremely influential in the following years.

A duo at the time, Limbonic Art had considerable success in the black metal underground. Despite their growing reputation the Norwegians began to reduce symphonic elements. This development is already audible on the sophomore full-length, In Abhorrence Dementia (1997), which is still considered a classic recording of the band as well as the third album, Epitome Of Illusions (1998), that contained new recordings of overhauled demo material.

Limbonic Art have always been an elusive creation that rarely appeared live, for example with a stunning performance at the Black Whitsun sub-festival of the doomed millennium year edition of the Wave Gotik Treffen (2000) in Leipzig, Germany. In the new century, Daemon also joined Samoth's band Zyklon for a while, but in February 2003, Limbonic Art officially broke up.

However, Daemon reformed the band in 2006. He continued on his own to release the albums Phantasmagoria (2010) and Spectre Abysm (2017) under the name Limbonic Art. Opus Daemoniacal ends another extended period of silence. With this strong album the Norwegian cult act is bound to appeal to friends of their early material as well as a new generation of classic Norse black metal connoisseurs.
