Rock Meets Classic founder and PRIMAL FEAR bassist / SINNER frontman Mat Sinner recently issued the following update:
"The Rock Meets Classic Tour 2012 will kick off in Stuttgart, Germany on January 4th at the Porsche Arena, followed by 20 more shows in Europe with Ian Gillan (DEEP PURPLE), Steve Lukather (TOTO), Jimi Jamison (ex-SURVIVOR), Chris Thompson (MANFRED MANN'S EARTH BAND) and Robin Beck performing their greatest hits. Plus, I can confirm that none other than Oliver Hartmann of AVANTASIA will join the MAT SINNER BAND on guitar and vocals."
The complete European tour schedule has been announced. It is as follows:

je l'ai jamais vu en solo dc je ne peux pas comparer avec Toto (vu 4 fois)mais j'ai toujours eu des avis assez contrasté sur ses concerts solo.
ils reprennent que du Deep Purple ? ça m'irait .... quoi que 2 ou 3 standards de Toto avec un orchestre ca serait pas pour me déplaire !

Un petit mot pour signaler que pour les dates aux Zéniths de Strasbourg et Paris -les Dimanche 22 et Mardi 24 Janvier-, la Fnac a lancé une promo' pour les places en gradins :
- 33€00 à Paris et 33€60 à Strasbourg en 2ème catégorie
- 44€00 à Paris et 38€40 à Strasbourg en 1ère catégorie
Et pour l'anecdote, les gradins du fond à Strasbourg, qui ne bénéficient pas de la promotion, sont désormais plus chers que les premières rangées.
À noter (et je viens seulement de constater ça avec horreur) qu'en lieu et place de la classique fosse debout, il est prévu d'aménager des rangées de sièges (dont une section "Carré d'Or" pour la modique somme de 73€00, merci les gars...).
J'avoue que j'avais pas spécialement prévu d'y aller au départ, mais je reconnais que c'est une belle affiche, et comme, en prime, ça sera dans la foulée de The Australian Pink Floyd Show qui passent dans le même Zénith 2 jours plus tard, ça fera une belle semaine de soirées de reprises en perspective !

ça aurait pu être bien sympa comme soirée, mais je n'irai pas, y a Evile + Portrait + Dr. Living Dead à la scène bastille le même soir..

J'avoue que généralement, j'ai énormément de mal à rester en place à un concert assis (j'ai même vu la fosse du Bataclan couverte de rangées de sièges en velours la dernière fois ! ).
J'hésitais encore là, mais c'est vrai qu'avec la petite soirée Thrash à Bastille en plus petit comité (et à moindres frais), je pense que je vais opter pour le convival.

Ben moi c'est surtout Jami Jamison qui me motive parce que Survivor on les voit jamais et j'aurais pas souvent l'occasion d'entendre ces titres là en live ... alors dans une telle configuration c'est juste immanquable.
Toto et Purple on les voit souvent et je les ai déjà vu avec l'orchestre en 2000 (avec Dio).
