As of today, EPICA has started the recordings for their 5th full-lenght album. This still untitled album will expectedly be released by Nuclear Blast on the 9th of March, 2012. EPICA entered the famous Gate- studio's in Germany once more to work with world renowned producer Sascha Paeth (KAMELOT, AVANTASIA, RHAPSODY OF FIRE). First up is Ariën van Weesenbeek to record his drumparts. Keep a close eye on http://www.epica.nl and the official EPICA-channels for updates on the recordings!

vu que le précédent contenait plusieurs chansons vraiment bonnes, je jetterai une oreille à celui là.
Enfin, de là à l'acheter...

C'est marrant mais quand on associe Epica et "vraiment bonne", je ne pense pas aux chansons en premier

Putain j'ai écouté le skeud hier soir et j'ai absolument rien retenu hormis le single ..

Design Your Universe était vraiment bon mais là y'a rien, ça riffe dans le vide, les orchestrations sont bofs et Simone est un peu invisible je trouve.

Ah ben effectivement si elle devient invisible le groupe perd beaucoup d'intérêt

Bon, sinon, moi, je comprends pas: Fan's n'a pas aimé un disque ! C'est la pente fatale vers la Darkavengerisation...

Je reviens à mes origines

Non mais en fait toutes les critiques que j'ai vu de cet album sont mauvaises. Ce qui peut vouloir dire 2 choses : soit c'est mauvais, soit, connaissant un peu le public du groupe, ça veut dire qu'il est génial

Mouais, la probabilité la plus grande est quand même qu'il soit nul à chier !

Album décevant car moins bon que les 2 précédents. Simone est égale à elle-même donc fabuleuse, mais les compos sont plus fades et la production trop soft, ... Trop de titres lents. Au final un album juste assez bon, mais qui reste au dessus du lot dans le genre metal sympho à chanteuse, c'est pas de la variété mais un bon mix entre métal et opéra. le genre veut qu'il soit difficile de se renouveler, mais il faudra que le groupe prenne le risque de la faire.

013 is the venue where we did our first show with Epica and, almost a decade later, also my last. I'm leaving the band because I have another career opportunity that is not combinable with the schedule of a world touring band. I've tried to live these two different lives simultaniously for as long as I could but in the end I just had to make a choice, one of the most difficult ones in my life. I look back to these 10 years in Epica satisfied and enriched with life experience. As a founding member I'm proud of what we've achieved so far and I'm sure the future has a lot more great things in store for the band.
I would like to thank the band, crew, fans and everybody else involved for the good times and I wish my successor good luck.

The silver lining to this cloud is that we can already announce an awesome successor. Fulfilling duties on bass from now on will be none other than Rob van der Loo. You might know Rob from his work with MaYaN or Delain. We are sure that Rob will fit perfectly as a musician and as a person, and we are looking forward to share the stage for the first time next week.

"A few days ago I spoke to Yves and he brought back a memory from the time when Epica was still a support band for one of my former bands. At that time he would never have guessed that almost 10 years later I'd be his successor in Epica... Well, neither did I... but I'm damn proud of it!
I've been sharing the stage with the people from Epica for almost ten years now, and becoming a member of MaYaN last year brought us even closer. So making the decision to join Epica feels pretty good. Therefore I want to show my gratitude to the bandmembers (including Yves) and the crew for allowing me in the Epica family!

See you guys on the road! I won't let you down!

J'ai eu enfin du temps pour écouter l'abum pas le meilleur mais du très bon, et il n'y aura sans doute pas mieux dans le genre ; un petit 16/20

Je viens d'écouter le single par simple curiosité vu que c'est pas le genre de groupe que j'écoute et à ma grande surprise je trouve ça très bon à part le passage en voix death qui n'apporte rien...
