"Last Of The Riders Bone" sera le titre du nouvel album du groupe légendaire, il sortira le 27 Février 2012 via SPV / Steamhammer.

Le CD est actuellement en cours d'enregistrement avec le producteur Tommy Newton. Une tournée du Royaume-Uni et Irlande va suivre en Mars et Avril.

Le dernier best-of de UFO "Best Of A Decade" est sorti en Amérique du Nord me 28 Septembre 2010 via SPV / Steamhammer.

L'album studio du groupe le plus récent, "The Visitor", est sorti en Juin 2009.

Le line-up actuel continue à se composer des trois membres originaux, Phil Mogg (chant), Paul Raymond (guitare, claviers) et Andy Parker (batterie), ainsi que le guitariste american Vinnie Moore.

Raymond est arrivé dans le groupe en remplacement de Danny Peyronel fin 76. Il est donc un membre à demi original.

British rock legends UFO will release their new album, "Seven Deadly", on February 28, 2012 (one day earlier internationally) via SPV/Steamhammer. The effort, which was recorded with producer Tommy Newton at his Area 51 studio in Celle, Germany, will be made available as a limited-edition digipack (including two bonus tracks), a double gatefold LP with printed innersleeves and colored vinyl, standard-edition CD and as a digital download.

ouais bizarre ! Bon j'ai toujours pas écouté le précédent "the Visitor"...

Moi non plus, mais je crois que je vais m'y atteler. J'ai toujours bien aimé UFO (même après le départ de l'illuminé Schenker), et j'ai pas mal d'album d'eux. En faisant abstraction de la pochette hideuse, je pense que j'achèterai le nouveau ! Pour moi, UFO est une marque de qualité.

Eux je crois qu'ils battent tous les records en terme de changement de line up et de musiciens de session !

Pete Way n'est plus dans le groupe depuis plus d'un an . Dernièrement c'était Barry Sparks mais je crois qu'il a été remplacé pour l'album.

Très juste, ça fait même plus d'un an!
Sur le site officiel le groupe apparait en photo sans bassiste et aucun nom n'a été mentionné pour l'enregistrement de l'album.
J'ai vu Pete Way à Londres avec Michael Shencker l'été dernier.

J'ai écouté quelques uns des derniers, mais je me suis fermement ennuyé...

C'est exactement comme moi. Les albums sans Shencker m'emmerdent profondément même s'ils sont bien faits.
Et j'ai exactement le même problème avec Deep Purple. En dehors de Purpendicular, les albums sans Lord et Blackmore me font chier.

Un peu pareil aussi. Les derniers albums d'UFO sont bien faits, vinnie moore joue super bien, mogg a encore une très belle voix...mais honnêtement, je les écoute une ou deux fois et puis basta. C'est vite lassant en fait, et il n'y a aucun grand titre. Pareil pour les derniers purple. Avec Mors, je n'aime que Purpendicular plus une poignée de titres de ses successeurs.

Le problème aussi est que ce groupes en vieillissant évoluent logiquement vers une musique plus pépère justement. Ce n'est pourtant pas un problème en soi à mon avis, mais la comparaison avec les vieux albums est alors forcément à leur désavantage par rapport à l'image hard rock qu'on en a, et qu'on attend.
Maintenant je n'irai pas dire que les derniers UFO ou Deep Purple rivalisent avec les meilleurs albums du groupe, certainement pas, mais j'y trouve quand même de bonnes compos et une excuse pour les voir en concert.

Je les ai vu à la boule noire la dernière fois. Autant les albums je les écoute pas trop, autant en live c'était excellent.
Phil Mogg avait encore de beaux restes vocalement.

69 Faces Of Rock: This by far is the longest running incarnation of UFO. What is in place now in order to achieve such consistency?

Andy Parker: I think , it's the lack of crazy people. [laughs] We have people in the band now that actually want to go out and play rather than abuse substances and throw tantrums. It's great; the band is getting along, and let's face it, we're here for the music. Sometimes the other things take over, but it's a very strong band. I'm real happy, and I think everyone else is.

69 Faces Of Rock: One band member who is still missing in action is [bassist] Pete Way. Any updates on Pete's whereabouts, or a possibility of him rejoining the band?

Andy Parker: He's the substance-abuse factor. No, but he is surviving as Pete survives. I believe he's made a solo album, but I don't think it hit the streets yet. Pete had plenty of opportunities to straighten himself up and come back. But, he doesn't seem to be willing to do it. And we're not really willing, I mean, we love Pete. But he's not really capable of playing to the level that we want to perform right now. That's about the best thing I can say. He doesn't seem to want to make a change, so right now I don't see him back. I mean, the door is always open, if he wants to make some life changes. He doesn't seem to feel that's necessary.

69 Faces Of Rock: Since UFO regrouped with Vinnie Moore on guitar in 2004, there's been a new album every two years. All of you live apart from each other, so how do you make it happen?

Andy Parker: So far so good. Yeah, that's kind of difficult, and if you noticed, I didn't have much of an input on the last album — pretty much nothing. And that's because I've had a lot of stuff going in my personal life. It is difficult. What seems to happen is guys put their ideas together when we're off the road, and then we meet and check them around. Phil [Mogg, vocals] will sort through them, and make the selections. He picks the ones he feels he can work with, and he'll go out and do his stuff, and then we come back together and record. The last three albums I've recorded in Germany, and Phil's done his vocals in Germany, too. Vinnie tends to do all his work from his home in Delaware. It works for him. In a way, it works because it's a lot less expensive to do it that way, and it gets done very quickly. I miss the process where you feed off each other. I'm usually in the studio on my own just playing to scratch tracks, which is OK, because there isn't any pressure on me, but you miss that connection with the other guys. So it has its ups and downs.

69 Faces Of Rock: Each time there is a new UFO release, people tend to compare it to your '70s records. Are such comparisons fair anymore?

Andy Parker: I don't think so. I mean, obviously, Vinnie received a lot of hate when he joined the band. Everyone wanted Michael Schenker, and Michael is brilliant, and that was a great era, but that was 30 years ago. Others wanted Paul Chapman. But the band moved on, the band matured, and the band is still putting out viable material. I'm not knocking the fans down. We've got fans that had been with us for a long time, but you know, you can't please everybody. I think the best way to go is just play from the heart, and that, to me, is why I love this band so much. It's always been from the heart for me.

Personne car y'a rien de neuf, mais c'est vendu uniquement au format digital, ça ne coûte rien à produire...

Ils avaient joué 4 titres de "Seven Deadly", dont "Wonderland", à leur dernier passage à Vauréal l'an dernier, c'était pas désagréable, mais j'avoue ne pas en avoir retenu grand chose.

Mouai, drôle d'info cette sortie!

Pete Way est en plein milieu de son traitement contre un cancer :
