Testament : départ de Paul Bostaph et Greg Christian

Suite à sa blessure, Paul Bostaph n'envisagerait pas de revenir dans le groupe qui recherche un batteur plus "stable" :
TESTAMENT frontman Chuck Billy has confirmed to Terrorizer that drummer Paul Bostaph (SLAYER, EXODUS, FORBIDDEN) has left the band.
Currently working on their new album, The Dark Roots Of Earth, which features Gene Hoglan on drums, Paul has been out of action due to a "serious injury" and unable to record or tour.
Chuck explains that Paul has decided to step down permanently, leaving the band with the task of finding a new member.
"We just found out last week Paul Bostaph is not coming back to the band, he's starting his own new project and doing some things on his own. So we're actually going to be holding a couple of auditions with probably small group of drummers that we chose - we don't want to have a revolving drum stool, we have a new record, we want a permanent drummer."

Je me rappelle d'un titre live avec Nick disponible sur un sampler Metallian, c'était tout mou! Une version pépère de The New Order!
Je les avais vu en 2007, c'était lui également derrière les fûts et j'avais bien aimé!

Depuis le départ de Louis Clemente après THE RITUAL, le groupe a usé bon nombres de batteurs. Que ce soit en studio ou sur scène: Bostaph, Hoglan, Dette, Allen, Barker, Lombardo et Tempesta. Que du beau monde en fait. Il serait peut être temps d'avoir un batteur permanent et pas une girouette.

En général, ils piochent plutôt dans les professionnels/mercenaires, j'ai l'impression qu'ils cherchent davantage quelqu'un avec qui ils ont de bonnes relations et qui est disponible dans le moment, plutôt qu'un membre qui va vraiment s'imbriquer dans le groupe comme dans une famille. Et même à la basse et à la guitare solo, il y a eu un certain roulement et surtout avec des gars qui multiplient les projets sur leur CV.

Visiblement Chuck Billy aurait confié en interview à Horns Up Rocks! qu'il voudrait engager Gene Hoglan (qui donc a composé une partie de l'album studio) à plein temps au sein du groupe.

Ça serait cool mais je n'y crois pas trop, en raison de son engagement dans Fear Factory, et ses divers projets en parallèle. Actuellement il a du temps libre ceci dit, puisqu'il file un coup de main à Anthrax sur la tournée US, en l'absence de Charlie Benante.

TESTAMENT Parts Ways with Bassist and Announce Replacement
Legendary Bay Area thrashers TESTAMENT have released the following statement:
“It is with much respect that we announce our mutual parting with bassist Greg Christian. Metal fretless bass pioneer Steve Di Giorgio will be returning to TESTAMENT. Steve previously was a member of TESTAMENT on The Gathering (1999) as well as First Strike Still Deadly (2001). He will be joining TESTAMENT on their upcoming shows in Australia on the Soundwave Festival, Japan and Mexico City. Steve will also be taking part in the new TESTAMENT album. Dommage pour Greg, mais avec Steve, on y perd vraiment pas au change !
Par contre, pour un prochain album si c'est encore Andy Sneap aux manettes, je suis pas sûr que Steve sera très valorisé...

Une des raisons pourquoi j'apprécie très rarement son travail de producteur d'ailleurs.

Oui, et tu es loin d'être le seul, je me souviens de quelques discussions enflammées au sujet de Mr. Sneap.
Je ne trouve pas non plus qu'il massacre des albums, mais il y' a meilleur assurément.

pareil un peu vert pour Christian, on sait pourquoi il part ? mais bon Di Giorgo est un monstre c'est clair !!!

Il a un enfant en bas âge, mais semblerait vouloir continuer dans la musique :
"Just home with my 4 year old, being Dad... and btw I'll have a musical announcement soon. As soon as the vocals are ready... I just don't want to say too much until I can bust it out. And it's dependent on the vocs now."
Peut-être qu'il ne pouvait plus tourner avec le groupe.
