Commented mainman Alex Kraft: "On the new DEZPERADOZ album, 'An Eye For An Eye', we are telling the story about a man who was condemned to death, because he killed his friend in the name of the religion (due to his acquired moralities). He has killed his friend in the name of God, and then was condemned to death himself in the name of God. We think, that no religion can justify any kind of violence and in our lyrics, this man reports his last days in the Wild Wild West."

Excellent le nouveau titre. Le son de guitare semble être plus proche de celui du premier album, et ce n'est pas pour me déplaire.
En plus si ce Desperados d'Angelripper revient sur un titre ça ne peut être que du tout bon !

J'adore ce groupe si l'album est aussi bien que le dernier : yeah !

je l'ai acheté vendredi, et il m'a fallut trois écoutes pour l'apprécier correctement, comme souvent avec des albums construit autour d'une même histoire, dont les morceaux trouvent tout leur sens rattachés les uns au autres. La première fois c'était à l'Antre, avec du monde et du bruit autour, donc à part les morceaux qui démarrent vraiment façon western, ça ne m'a pas accroché plus que ça. la deuxième fois, en voiture, j'ai décroché après quatre titres. La troisième fois fut la bonne. je me suis posée, j'ai lu le livret avant, et là j'ai carrément adoré! Regrettant d'autant plus de les avoir raté au Wacken il y a quelques années... La prochaine fois, je ne ferai pas l'impasse c'est clair!

Comment sont les deuxième et troisième albums? Je ne connais que le premier avec l'Oncle Tom, qui est vraiment très bon. Est-ce que Kraft avait gardé son inspiration?

Le premier est unique en son genre, en tout cas je ne connais aucun autre groupe qui a réussi ce tour de force limite contre-nature.

T'aimeras peut-être moins les suivants je ne sais pas, les influences thrash sauvage ont pratiquement disparu, chant inclus (exit Angelripper). Honnêtement c'est moins original mais ça le reste quand même sans problème, le chant de Kraft est conventionnel mais sympa, les riffs lourds lorgnent plus du côté de Metallica avec également des harmoniques, et l'ambiance western est bien présente. Je dois reconnaître qu'il y a plus de déchets et que ça tombe un peu dans le kitsch forcé à certains moments, mais quand le groupe est inspiré il se démarque tout de suite.

D'un sens, c'est plutôt bon, mais j'aurais pensé que ça l'allait plus être un truc dans l'esprit du morceau My Gun and Me, là c'est plutôt Rock et ce n'est pas vraiment le même feeling que le premier album.

Il y a également une chanson tubesque qui se rapproche de "My Gun and Me" sur le deuxième album.

Globalement oui le feeling est moins metal in your face et davantage heavy / rock plombé avec un gros son de porc quelque part entre Metallica et Black Label Society. Seule l'atmosphère western n'a pas trop changé, avec même en supplément une petite poignée d'intermèdes rockabilly et country, ou reprises de Johnny Cash, histoire de rester dans l'ambiance.

Nouvel album conceptuel, sur Billy the Kid cette fois.
Pas de changement musical particulier dans le clip mis en avant, sympathique même si on est loin de la fraîcheur et l'ambition des débuts.

It’s the return of the magnificent three. Five years after the last raid “Dead Man’s Hand," Dezperadoz got the horses saddled once again to conquer even the last corner of the Wild West. As was the case in the glorious past, the band relies on an explosive arsenal of meaty, straight-on heavy metal and the best of every single Western soundtrack ever written, thus forming an unholy and striking alliance. Forged under the desert moon, it’s as inseparable as beans and bacon, as Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone.

Leave it to philosophers to debate whether the hen or the egg were first. When dealing with band leader Alex Kraft, this question needs rephrasing: What was first, the Wild West or Heavy Metal? “Wild West of course,” he answers quick as a shot. Like each and everyone of us, he got infected by the infamous and thrilling genre of Italo western way too early. Having adopted a burning passion for the most dangerous music there is, Heavy Metal, similarly early, the smashing concept came about quite naturally. Dezperadoz taste like lead, whisky and the horse stables. Even more, and that’s essential for Kraft: they taste like freedom.

Already famous for their thorough and authentic conceptual albums in the past, Alex Kraft and his two relentless comrades up the ante once again. “Call of the Wild” is inspired by one of Wild West’s biggest heroes ever – Billy the Kid. Infamous gunslinger, notorious womaniser and hotshot for some, cold-blooded murderer for others. “He was a young, tough, bragging swashbuckle, but at the same time well educated, polite, diligent and intelligent,” Kraft muses. “A rebel and a thorn in every cattle dealer’s flesh.” A legend like that couldn’t go better with a bold troupe like Dezperadoz. For years, Kraft worked on this elaborate concept and tried to unmask the figure behind the myth. With “Call of the Wild”, he built him a loud, wild, unforgettable monument with which Billy himself, it is safe to assume, would be more than happy.
