L'ex-frontman de Morbid Angel a fondé un nouveau groupe :
Greyhaze Records has announced the signing of WARFATHER, a devastating new death metal unit conceived by ex-MORBID ANGEL bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker.

In a statement on what metal fans are to expect from WARFATHER, Tucker stated: "This is my new band; it will be my main focus.... it is my kind of death metal."

Having been known for his vocal and bass skills in all of his previous acts, while still holding down vocal duties here, Tucker has moved on to guitar with this project. "I have always played the guitar and I think now is the time for me to make the move. I think doing solos and extra guitar parts will allow me to express myself in a whole new way!" he said. Also on guitars is Armatura, formerly of Cincinnati-based death metal band DOMINION. Recruited to the drum kit is Deimos, a death metal veteran currently playing in the band TEMPLE and also having played with bands such as SEVERE TORTURE. The bass is dispatched by Nick McMaster (KRALLICE, NADER SADEK, CASTEVET). Additional guitar contributions will be tracked by friends of WARFATHER, which include many notable death metal stalwarts; full details will be announced shortly.

WARFATHER is currently in the final stages of tracking the yet-to-be-titled album, with mixing to take place immediately after. Tucker himself is producing the entire release, as he did for the 2011-released NADER SADEK album "In the Flesh", which Tucker also performed on. The artwork is in the final stages as well, and will be unveiled shortly, along with the details on the album, which is being slated for release this fall. Upon the CD's release, WARFATHER will take their battle to the highways of the planet on tour in support of the album.

After starting out as vocalist/bassist for death/thrash act CEREMONY, Steve Tucker moved on to handle bass and vocals on MORBID ANGEL's infamous "Formulas Fatal To The Flesh", "Gateways To Annihilation" and "Heretic" LPs. In 2009, Tucker was recruited to take part in the NADER SADEK album "In The Flesh" for release through then-brand-new label Greyhaze Records, and licensed to Season of Mist Records. The project also featured Flo Mounier (CRYPTOPSY), Rune Eriksen (MAYHEM, AVA INFERI) and more. During this time, Tucker struck up a great relationship with Greyhaze Records, and together they decided to bring the reality of WARFATHER to fruition.

The new full-time project fronted by ex-MORBID ANGEL bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, WARFATHER was initially announced in mid-2012, but has remained otherwise virtually a mystery until now. As the finishing touches are currently being handled on their debut album, now confirmed to bear the title "Orchestrating The Apocalypse", this band sees Tucker back to fronting a death metal outfit after over a decade since his departure from MORBID ANGEL, and over two years since his participation as a vocalist and writer in the well-received Nader Sadek project. On the impending attack, Tucker states, "I am stoked about WARFATHER and our first album!

"WARFATHER is more than just a metal band; it is a belief system and a meeting of the minds, the ones that can see what is truly happening in the times we are living in.

"'Orchestrating The Apocalypse' is a warning to the eyes that choose to be blind, and a call to arms to the minds that do feel the coming changes. It is pure blackened, apocalyptic death metal.

"Fuck religion, fuck the government! This is their apocalypse. Our time is NOW!"

"Orchestrating The Apocalypse" brutalizes in a relentless style that builds on the work laid on the three Tucker-fronted MORBID ANGEL albums — "Formulas Fatal To The Flesh", "Gateways To Annihilation" and "Heretic" — resounding with over forty minutes of pure American death metal. WARFATHER delivers an intense, debilitating performance that should no doubt please fans of MORBID ANGEL, NILE and BEHEMOTH, while also sporadically infusing unique even bizarre atmospheric elements, elevating the album to a cutting-edge status. The CD was recorded and mixed at Cincinnati-based TME studios by Steve Tucker and mastered by Maor Applebaum at Maor Applebaum Mastering, and is now confirmed for release via Greyhaze Records on January 21, 2014 in North America, with a European release date to be announced in the coming weeks.

Said Tucker: "I am extremely excited for the release of 'The Grey Eminence'. I feel that this album is one of the best things that I have ever been a part of! Erik Rutan did an amazing job on the production and the songs speak for themselves!"

Rutan added: "Recording with Steve and the guys on the new WARFATHER album has been fantastic! It has been a blast to be working on this monster album in the studio once again with my great friend and former bandmate. The songs are heavy as hell and just outright awesome. We have some great tonnes and performances."

WARFATHER saw Tucker back to fronting a death metal outfit after over a decade since his departure from MORBID ANGEL, and over two years since his participation as a vocalist and writer in the well-received Nader Sadek project.

Tucker said: "WARFATHER is more than just a metal band; it is a belief system and a meeting of the minds, the ones that can see what is truly happening in the times we are living in. [It] is a warning to the eyes that choose to be blind, and a call to arms to the minds that do feel the coming changes. It is pure blackened, apocalyptic death metal."

MORBID ANGEL guitarist Trey Azagthoth announced a year ago that the band had reunited with Steve Tucker and that they were working on material for the group's next record.
