Mysterious Swedish buzz band GHOST will release its sophomore album, "Infestissumam", in the spring via Loma Vista Recordings, the new record label founded by Tom Whalley in partnership with Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group. Frontman Papa Emeritus and his Nameless Ghouls summoned Nashville-based Grammy Award-winning Nick Raskulinecz (DEATH ANGEL, DEFTONES, FOO FIGHTERS, RUSH) to produce this offering.

This past weekend, Papa Emeritus was laid to rest during a ceremonial live concert in GHOST's hometown Linköping, Sweden and those in attendance were introduced to Papa Emeritus II (with both characters played by GHOST's real-life frontman, Tobias Forge of REPUGNANT and SUBVISION fame). GHOST was recently forced to modify its name in the U.S. to GHOST B.C. for "legal reasons."

Papa Emeritus II recently emerged on the 100th issue of Decibel magazine for an extensive feature detailing the making of the forthcoming "Infestissumam" in which a nameless ghoul declared, "Regardless of your religious beliefs, we like to trigger the imagination of the listener so they can become a devout burner in Hell or a keen participant of devil worship for at least an hour or two. That's the GHOST experience." Decibel editor-in-chief Albert Mudrian said, "For the cover of our 100th issue, we wanted to spotlight a band that embodies the ideals of the magazine: theatricality, black humor, love for both the past and present of extreme music. GHOST meets and exceeds all of those criteria, and we couldn't be more excited to reveal the exclusive story of the making of their sophomore album."

The band's debut album, "Opus Eponymous", was released in late 2010 in Europe and in early 2011 in North America via Rise Above Records.

olivier64 a écrit :Je trouve ce 2ème titre bien moins bon que Secular Haze, il ne se passe rien. Et le son hard rock du 1er album devient pop, avec guitares en retrait, choeurs en avant et son de batterie moins agressif. C'est produit par Mutt Lange ? ça sent pas bon pour ce 2ème album.

La date de sortie d'Infestissumam, le nouvel opus des suédois GHOST, prévue pour le 9 avril en Amérique du Nord, a été reportée au 16 mai.

Tout ça parce quatre fabricants de CD ont refusé de produire l'image pour l'édition de luxe. Décrite comme sacrilège, cette image est inspirée d'une oeuvre du XIX siècle de l'illustrateur français Gustave Doré et elle montre une orgie de nymphes dans une forêt avec une croix inversée.

Ce cas de censure affectera seulement les Etats Unis pendant que la sortie en Europe des vinyles et des CD n'aura pas de changement.

Le groupe suédois GHOST a aussi publier récemment la vidéo de leur nouvel extrait "Year Zero".
