DARKANE guitarist Christofer Malmström has posted the following message on his official web site:

"I'm very proud to announce that I'm now officially endorsed by Ibanez guitars. I have been playing Ibanez guitars since 1993 when I decided to go serious about my guitar playing, and wanted a really good metal guitar. After trying out of couple of different brands I realized that Ibanez was the only right choice. I have been playing different models since then but over the last years my main models is RG3120 Prestige. For me this guitar has become a part of the style that I have developed over the years. I also use D'Addario strings and Planet Waves cables.

I'm very sorry about the lack of updates during the summer.

"A lot of people have asked me to put up guitar tabulature from 'Layers of Lies' lately. I haven't had the time and really have to focus on other stuff right now, but to celebrate the Ibanez endorsement I will put up two songs: 'Secondary Effects' and 'Layers of Lies' within a couple of weeks, so check back soon.

"DARKANE has played a few shows in Sweden, and right now we are editing the live DVD that we shot in May in Helsingborg. We are still in the beginning process of writing the fifth DARKANE album, and so far it feels very good. If you liked our previous albums you won't be dissapointed, for sure!"

DARKANE earlier in the year completed a European tour in support of their fourth album, "Layers of Lies", available now on Nuclear Blast Records. It is the follow-up to the band's third studio CD, "Expanding Senses", which was released in 2002.

Ah ! Bonne nouvelle ça, même si je trouve qu'ils le sortent trop tôt, le groupe n'ayant pas encore beaucoup de succès. Quoiqu'ils comptent peut-être sur ce DVD pour se faire mieux connaître.

Quoiqu'il en soit, je les ai vus au Graspop où ils ont assuré comme des rois. Je me procurerai ce DVD si la qualité est au rendez-vous

J'ai découvert ce groupe au Graspop, après en avoir pas mal entendu parlé (hein Romain !

), mais j'ai pas accroché plus que ça...
C'est pas mal sans plus je trouve... Pas hyper original en tout cas !

Si tu aimes quand même leur style, je te conseille de jeter une oreille sur le dernier album en date: Layers of Lies (2005).

C'est certes assez brutal mais le groupe parvient tout de même à glisser de superbes mélodies et des petits trucs bien accrocheurs de ci de là pour maintenir l'intérêt du début à la fin.

Le chanteur, Andreas Sydow, aux yeux terrifiants en concert, a décidé de quitter le groupe. A priori il semble qu'il a fait le tour de la question et se sent en stand by niveau création avec Darkane. Il quitte le groupe à l'amiable. son message sur le site.

Dommage, il y était pour beaucoup dans la personnalité du groupe...

le nouveau chanteur se nomme Jens Broman, il fera son premier concert le 10 novembre prochain au ProgPower Scandinavia à Copenhague.
Il a chanté et continuera de chanter dans ses deux groupes : CONSTRUCDEAD et THE DEFACED.

We now have 51 minutes of new Darkane material written. We will start the recording of the next album in late January. Peter is in the final stage of the live DVD mixing and it's supposed to be done before the year is over

ça sortira pas avant juin alors le nouvel album.....(pffiou ça fait loin.)

C'est un bon groupe ouais, Expending Senses et Layers of Lies sont de bons albums, aux riffs bien touffus, et refrains aeriens et mélodiques.
C'est dommage que le chanteur soit parti, car il avait un timbre bien particulier et n'utilisait pas d'effet. J'éspère que le nouveau va assurer...

Le groupe met la touche finale à Demonic Art, son prochain opus dont la date de sortie n'est pas encore annoncée. En voici néanmoins le tracklisting:

Le dernier album, Layers of lies, était un sacré album

Je vais donc surveiller celui-là avec attention

Achat assuré pour moi dans tous les cas

Ben visiblement, ça a l'air d'être dans la même continuité que Sydow du point de vue vocal. Je ne me fais donc pas trop de souci de ce côté-là

Regarding the album's title, the band said: "'The Sinister Supremacy' is a metaphor for the evil that controls us. It's the dark part of our minds and it’s inside us all. It tells us it's OK to do bad things, to hurt other people, and hurt ourselves. It guides us into making choices based on pure selfishness, and it thrives on complete chaos.

"The cover art by Carlos Holmberg is a Rorschach test as seen by an individual who has completely succumbed to the sinister supremacy."

The first photo of the current lineup of DARKANE — featuring returning vocalist Lawrence Mackrory — can be seen below.

Vocalist Jens Broman left DARKANE in August 2011 due to "personal issues." He explained in a statement, "At the moment my life is in a phase where I'm unable to find inspiration for new adventures with DARKANE and therefore it's best for me to pass on the mic."

Mackrory sang on DARKANE's debut album, "Rusted Angel" (1999), and made a guest appearance on the song "Chaos vs. Order" on the band's 2002 effort "Expanding Senses".
