C'est un jeune groupe (moyenne d'âge de 20 ans) qui devrait être bien en vu en 2014, outre la sortie de "Voyage" leur nouvel album via Nuclear Blast (le 10 janvier), le groupe tournera notamment avec Grand Magus / Audrey Horne, et est programmé pour le prochain Wacken.

Je ne sais pas trop encore quoi penser de ce groupe, pas désagréable à écouter mais ça ne me fait pas vraiment 'vibrer' non plus. A voir le rendu en concert.

Moi je trouve ça bien cool ! Dans la veine des groupes retro/stoner du moment, notamment BRAIN POLICE, qui sont également islandais

J'aime beaucoup Brain Police, j'avais pris une bonne claque au Hellfest 2012 d'ailleurs.
The Vintage Caravan sonne un peu moins 'stoner' à mon goût, je n'ai pas encore eu le déclic en écoutant leurs morceaux mais ça va peut être venir.

exact, je me souviens que le chanteur était assez bourré, le rendant encore plus sympathique .
Et puis leur set avait un aspect chaleureux et entraînant qui avait ravi tous ceux présents sous la Valley je pense.

Moi The Vintage caravan, je trouve ça carrément excellent ! Autant dans le style je n'accroche pas à des groupes comme Orchid ou Zodiac qui font le buzz en ce moment, autant eux ils ont un truc en plus

Orchid....comprends pas le buzz concernant ce combo qui ne propose qu'un vulgaire plagiat de Sabbath....sur je sais plus quel titre ils pompent carrément le riff de "into the void"....grotesque....

euh, oui sauf que l'un des titres de The Vintage Caravan pompe allègrement le riff de "Paranoid", donc bon !
Et Zodiac est bien plus orienté hard blues que "classic hard rock", ils ont une approche plus moderne, enfin c'est une histoire d'étiquette et de ressenti tout ça.

J'ai découvert ça ce mois ci dans Rock Hard et j'ai plutôt bien accroché. Et là j'aime encore beaucoup les extraits du 1er post.
Du coup très ravi d'apprendre qu'ils font la 1ère partie de Grand Magus l'année prochaine, au final les 4 groupes de l'affiche sont très bon.
Oui très bon groupe, l'affiche avec Grand Magus est vraiment alléchante... 4 groupes au top!

Le groupe entrera en studio début janvier :
Icelandic classic rock trio The Vintage Caravan have announced to be entering the studio on January 8th to record their next album.
The band will record the follow-up to 2014's Voyage in an isolated fjord where they will set up a studio in an old ballroom and work with producer Axel "Flexi" Árnason who also worked with the band on their last album.
Recording sessions will last two weeks, aiming for a release in the first half of 2015.
Commented the band: "The songwriting sessions have been going on since around October 2012 when our album Voyage had been out in Iceland for a month. We immediately started writing at that point so some of the songs are quite old for us. Because of that we have a bit too many songs but we intend to make this album around 10 tracks so we can put what we think are the best tracks on the album. Right now we are doing demos, polishing the stuff and thinking of ways to nicely add to the production of the songs. We are very excited to start recording this album. It's going to be interesting to work on. The album is a bit different from our previous album - it's a bit darker, a bit heavier, a bit more melodic but definitely all in a good way."

Sans être monumental (niveau compo ça m'a jamais troué le cul malgré une technicité certaine), les jeunes sont plutôt sympa sur scène, et en moins d'un an d'écart il y a eu une sacré évolution. La dernière fois où j'avais été les voir on voyait surtout des gamins qui tentent d'être au niveau sur la présence, aujourd'hui on a des mecs charismatiques qui savent faire le show.
