Ilsa a écrit :Hmmmmm cruel dilemme.

Following a recent European tour, Flotsam And Jetsam has checked in with the following announcement about lineup changes:
"We would like to send out a huge thank you to the many fans and press that came out to support us on our tour with Sepultura. This tour was the largest European tour to date for Flotsam and Jetsam.
"Our main goal is to get connected to all of you, shake your hands, look you in the eyes and let you know how much we appreciate you. You are the life blood of music.
"As you know we released a complete reproduction of No Place for Disgrace this year. This was so we could present the album the way it was intended to heard. Many of you had great comments about this and that confirmed our decision to get this done.
"After completion of the 2013 tour with Testament in the US, Edward Carlson was no longer able to tour due to physical issues that would require back and neck surgery to possibly correct. We will miss our comrade and wish him well on his next adventure. Steve Conley has been officially recruited to fill the spot. Having played with David Ellifson (Megadeth) in F5, we are confident in his ability to hold the spot with integrity.
"Jason Ward's departure happened after the tracking of Ugly Noise. Jason had spent nearly 16 years in Flotsam and decided to stay at home with his new family and career. He was and is one of the strongest personalities in the Flotsam catalog of players. We have all had a turn on the sidelines, we will miss his participation on the road and his whitty humor. Shorty after the Testament tour in 2013, Michael Spencer took the helm as bassist. He was the first bassist to replace Newsted in 1987 (Spencer was formerly in Sentinel Beast). He was a part of the writing of No Place for Disgrace in 1987, and he was on our first tour with Megadeth in the US and Europe. With that history, it made perfect sense that No Place should be redone. You can hear him on the reproduction of NPFD."
The current line up is as follows:
Eric A.K. – Vocals
Michael Gilbert – Guitar
Kelly D. Smith – Drums
Michael Spencer – Bass (First bassist to replace Jason Newsted)
Steve Conley – Guitars (Formerly of F5)
R.I.P Ronnie James Dio !

Drummer Kelly Smith has left veteran Arizona metallers FLOTSAM AND JETSAM to focus on caring for his family.
Kelly was instrumental in bringing FLOTSAM back to its current form with a touring and festival schedule that, since 2013, saw the band perform live in 15 countries and across the U.S. for more than 80 shows.
Kelly has issued the following personal message to the FLOTSAM fans: "As of August, my family has suffered the loss of two family members and a third is now in critical condition. With all that has taken place, it has taken me away from the focus of my duties in FLOTSAM for the foreseeable future.
"In 1982 FLOTSAM (first as DREDLOX, then as DOGZ) was born in Scottsdale, Arizona on my parents back patio. Despite all the progress we have made, I am regretfully unable to continue on this journey, as always I only want the best should my comrades continue the good fight. Flotz til Death."
As Kelly departs, FLOTSAM continues work on a new album that is still scheduled for a spring 2015 release, to coincide with the band's upcoming European tour and festival dates.
Details on the upcoming album and new drummer will be released soon.

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM has announced the addition of drummer Jason Bitter (SHADOWS FALL) to the group's ranks. Bittner joins the veteran Arizona metallers as the replacement for Kelly Smith, who recently left the band to focus on family matters.
Being as Kelly's need to move on wasn't a band decision, FLOTSAM first looked to drummers that Kelly himself would want to see perform with the band.
"In my opinion, Jason in one of only a couple of men on my short list for the job," states Kelly.
"Jason's an amazing all-around drummer, a true professional, good friend, and solid stand-up guy.
"I was humbled to hear, after first meeting Jason in 1988 in Boston, that I had inspired him as a drummer."
Says Jason: "I have been a FLOTSAM AND JETSAM fan for decades, following the band around the East Coast in the eighties and nineties.
"I've been lucky enough to be in the background of the FLOTSAM AND JETSAM camp as a fan, supporter, and gear leader to my dear friend, Kelly David Smith.
"I am hard at work relearning all the classic FLOTZ material and can't wait to record and tour with the band in 2015.
"This will become my focus after the completion of the 2015 U.S. SHADOWS FALL hiatus tour, which will happen spring/summer 2015.
"As they say… 'Flotz 'till death!' See you in Europe, in April."
As FLOTSAM prepares to enter the studio to record its next album — tentatively due in April 2015 — Jason's involvement will add a new element to the band's sound, along with the addition of Steve Conley on guitar and Michael Spencer (who previously contributed to the writing of the band's classic 1988 release, "No Place For Disgrace") on bass.
"The band already has over 20 songs in the works, so there's certainly no shortage of material to pick from," says Spencer.
"Conley, along with guitarist Michael Gilbert, have been engineering pre-production tracks for the album at their respective studios that include a few songs written during the 'No Place For Disgrace' era of the band.
"There's a great, old-school thrash vibe going on with the direction of the songs and what originally influenced the band, mixed with a little of what we like about today's sound, in metal. We've also just begun to look outside of the band for a producer to take this album to where we hear it sonically, so we'll see where that side of things goes."
FLOTSAM is currently finalizing plans to tour Europe in the spring of 2015, with summer festival dates planned throughout Europe and beyond.
