Les death metalleux enregistrent 2 titres pour un single :
For the first time in nearly 15 years, two vile new AUTOPSY tracks were recorded in September 2008, bringing together Chris Reifert, Danny Coralles and Eric Cutler for another slice of death and decay.

These tracks make up a special, extremely limited (only 1,000) seven-inch vinyl release, titled "Horrific Obsession". This singlewill be available exclusively from Peaceville.com on January 26, 2009, with pre-orders being taken now in the Peaceville store.

In addition to this, a special two-disc edition of AUTOPSY's iconic debut album, "Severed Survival", will be released in February to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original release.

Everyone's favorite San Franciscan sickos — an inspiration to an entire generation of death metal bands — have unearthed rare rehearsal and live material for a bonus disc, including demo versions of two songs, "Mauled To Death" and "Human Genocide", which were intended for the original "Severed Survival". Also featured in the package is a booklet with notes by the band themselves, detailing the history of AUTOPSY's early years, with rare photos and images.

Un commentaire de Chris:

"It was a blast!" Reifert tells Decibel magazine of "Horrific Obsession" and "Feast of the Graveworm". "They came out really good. It just came about. We were thinking last year, '2009 is coming up. 'Severed Survival' came out 20 years ago.' It's crazy. So, we figured we'd talk to Peaceville about doing an anniversary edition, with a bunch of extra notes and pictures. We have old live stuff that no one's heard, so we figured we'd put a few bonus tracks on there. I went through my old cassette tapes. I found rehearsals from '87 and '88. I found some live stuff. All this shit. All this stuff could've been a bonus disc. We then started talking about doing a new song. It's like, 'Well, that's pretty weird. Well, maybe?' Then it turned into two songs. We wrote them just for this special occasion. They're brand new. They'll be on a seven-inch. They'll also be on the bonus disc to 'Severed Survival'. So, it's cool."

Reformation d'Autopsy

Ce vieux groupe de death old school se reforme, suite au split de Abscess.
ABSCESS, the California-based band consisting of Chris Reifert (drums/vocals; ex-DEATH/AUTOPSY), Clint Bower (guitar/vocals; ex-HEXX), Danny Coralles (guitar; ex-AUTOPSY), and Joe Allen (bass; ex-VON), has officially split up.

Commented Reifert: "The reason for [the breakup] is that Clint Bower has left the band for personal reasons and out of respect to him and to all who have supported us for these 16 years, we have decided to call it a day. Without Clint Bower, there can be no ABSCESS so we won't even try to cheat anyone with something that is not the real thing. [ABSCESS' recently released eighth album] 'Dawn Of Inhumanity' has become our final statement and we feel that it is the perfect way to close the ABSCESS chapter since we must do so.

"Thanks to all of you who were and still are proud to call yourselves ABSCESS freaks!"

Reifert adds, "The other side of this statement is to announce that AUTOPSY is officially active again. With the lineup of Eric Cutler and Danny Coralles on guitars, Chris Reifert on drums/vocals and Joe Trevisano (formerly Allen) on bass, AUTOPSY is now the full-time focus. Longtime friend and bass destroyer Dan Lilker has performed with AUTOPSY at Maryland Deathfest VIII and will also do so at the upcoming Party.San and Hole In The Sky festivals in August of this year before Joe Trevisano takes over full-time on bass. A new AUTOPSY EP and full-length album are in the works and will be released on Peaceville Records, along with an upcoming documentary DVD. Also in the works is a new official AUTOPSY website, so keep your eyes open for that. Any other AUTOPSY sites or pages out there are fan sites and not run by the band.

"Again, thanks to all. All we can do is offer more brutality."

AUTOPSY will release a brandnew EP, entitled "The Tomb Within", with artwork from renowned horror / fantasy artist Matt Cavotta, via Peaceville Records in August 2010. Furthermore, a new studio album (the band’s fifth) will be released early 2011, to be called "Macabre Eternal". It can also be announced that AUTOPSY will be infesting European shores in August with 2 very special and exclusive headlining shows, at Party.San Open Air festival and Norway's Hole in the Sky festival. Band statement: "As many of you know, for years it has been repeatedly stated that AUTOPSY was over with and done for good. While that was indeed true for a long span of time, it is no longer the case. AUTOPSY has come to the solid realization that the time is now right to resume their mission of gore soaked Death Metal brutality and to fulfill this mission with maximum intensity. Make no mistake about it, AUTOPSY is not about reliving the past, basking in nostalgia or riding on efforts from years long gone. The band is hungry to devour fresh minds and souls and has been amassing an arsenal of new and deathly material to unleash upon those who also hunger for such brutality. The surgical instruments are being sharpened and a pure Death Metal assault of the most horrific order is underway as you read these very words. On behalf of the band, thanks goes out to all who relented and simply would not allow this beast to remain in the grave. Your persistence will be met with unspeakable and unapologetic sonic atrocities. Let the blood flow...."

U.S. gore legends AUTOPSY have completed the recording of their first tracks since officially reforming last year. "The Tomb Within" was recorded mid-July 2010 at Fantasy Studios with Adam Munoz and sees the original trio of Chris Reifert, Danny Coralles and Eric Cutler joined on bass by Joe Trevisano (ex-ABSCESS).

"The Tomb Within" consists of five new tunes of gore and depravity and will be released on September 13 through Peaceville Records on CD and 12-inch vinyl, with general release set for September 27. Cover art is supplied by renowned fantasy/horror artist Matt Cavotta.

AUTOPSY had previously decided to make an official comeback after working together on two songs for the special 20th-anniversary edition of debut album, "Severed Survival", in late 2008; the band having originally split before the release of its fourth album, "Shitfun", in 1995.

The 12-inch vinyl edition of "The Tomb Within" comes with a free poster of the stunning cover artwork and is limited to just 1,000 numbered copies. The CD edition comes with a special limited postcard for pre-orders.

The track listing is as follows:

01. The Tomb Within
02. My Corpse Shall Rise
03. Seven Skulls
04. Human Genocide
05. Mutant Village

Commented the band: "As many of you know, for years it has been repeatedly stated that AUTOPSY was over with and done for good. While that was indeed true for a long span of time, it is no longer the case.
