According to Dagbladet.no, members of the legendary Norwegian black metal band IMMORTAL are involved in a legal dispute over the IMMORTAL trademark. The group's frontman Abbath (real name Olve Eikemo) has attempted to claim rights to the IMMORTAL name via his sole proprietorship Eikemo Compositions. The application has been stopped by a lawyer representing lyricist/guitarist Demonaz (real name Harald Nævdal) and drummer Horgh (real name Reidar Horghagen), who want the IMMORTAL trademark to be shared by all three members.

Je me suis totalement désintéressé du groupe depuis quelques temps mais c'est tristouille d'en arriver là. Il est loin le temps où les deux compères allaient boire du whisky et cracher du feu en forêt.

Apparemment, Horgh et Demonaz ont voulu faire un break avec Immortal l'été dernier, sauf que dans le même temps ils étaient censé payer une salle de répétitions (avec Abbath) et qu'ils ont arrêté de le faire...donc Abbath a cru que les 2 quittaient Immortal, aurait composé un nouvel album avec d'autres musiciens (probablement avec Nuclear Blast qui poussait derrière)
The legal dispute over the rights to Immortal‘s trademarks continues to enfold. Previously, it was revealed, that frontman/guitarist Olve “Abbath” Eikemo had made moves to secure the rights to the bands trademarks, only to have that motion opposed by his bandmates, Harald “Demonaz” Nævdal and Reidar “Horgh” Horghagen.
A new report over at Dagbladet.no has a letter from Eikemo to The Norwegian Industrial Property Office which sheds more light as to why he made that move. According to Abbath, a conflict between the the three led to the other two members (Demonaz & Horgh,) implying they wanted to take a break from the outfit this past summer.
A shared rehearsal space between the three parties is also cited in the letter, with Abbath stating that the other two members moved out of it and stopped paying their shares of the rent on it—a move which he perceived as them leaving the band. He also goes on to say that Nævdal hasn’t played guitar since a 1997 injury to his arm and that Horgh was more of a hired gun than a participating songwriter.
It is further revealed that Abbath has largely completed work on a new Immortal album for Nuclear Blast with other musicians. Demonaz and Horgh are both petitioning to have the trademark split three-ways with a ruling expected to handed down in the coming months.

Cela prouve aussi peut-être que les problèmes internes qui avaient mené à la dissolution du groupe n'ont pas été totalement résolus lors de la reformation.

Abbath a déclaré qu'Immortal c'était fini.
Il va continuer sous le nom Abbath avec un nouveau line-up et a déjà écrit un album qui sera bientôt enregistré.

ouais pour l'instant c'est fini mais ça se trouve les autres vont continuer sous le nom Immortal Inc. ou Immortal B.C.
Et je n'exclue pas une reformation dans 3-4 ans, on sait jamais, histoire de bien pourrir un peu plus le "nom" Immortal.

ça me fait bien chier quand même cette séparation. Heureux d'avoir pu les voir deux fois en live mais bon ... C'était un groupe que j'aurais voulu voir plus.
