Beastmilk transforms into Grave Pleasures. New album in the works!
The Finnish band formerly known as Beastmilk, shall now go under the name of Grave Pleasures, following the departure of co-founding member Johan "goatspeed" Snell.
Given the circumstances Beastmilk will continue, but under the new guise of Grave Pleasures.
Along with the name change, new live/studio guitarist Juho Vanhanen (Oranssi Pazuzu) has joined the band, while guitarist Snell departs the ranks.
Juho V. is welcomed into Grave Pleasures by frontman Kvohst, bassist Arino and guitarist Linnea Olsson (The Oath, Sonic Ritual) who joined the band earlier in 2014.
The band can also reveal that they will be signing a major label deal and that they will go into the studio in May with producer Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, Killing Joke ) with the album set for release in September, followed by a European tour.
Singer and Climax song-writer Mat "Kvohst" says of the name and lineup change “The lineup has never been stronger! We’re really excited to perform material from the forthcoming album and classic songs from Climax. The name might change, but the songs and the performance will be better than ever."

Très impatient d'écouter cette nouvelle incarnation de Beastmilk sans le guitariste originel. Je ne sais pas si ça va rester dans le même registre ou s'ils vont emprunter de nouveaux chemins mais je suis très curieux. Quelqu'un les a vus au Hellfest et aurait des choses à dire sur les nouveaux morceaux?

Alors perso je ne connaissais pas, je suis allé les voir en attendant le passage de Morgoth. J'ai trouvé ça sympa mais un peu décalé avec ce que l'on peut attendre à trouver sous la Temple. Ca ressemblait à du Insahn mais en moins chiant et la bassiste est plutôt joli.
ps : je sais, ça n'éclairera pas beaucoup par rapport à Beastmilk mais c'est déjà ça

Beastmilk, ils appelaient ça du post-punk apocalyptique, y'a pas mal de métalleux (et métalleuses) qui accrochent malgré le fait que ce ne soit pas du metal. C'est très efficace, easy-listening et catchy mais ça un côté aussi assez sombre et sensuel très prenant.

J'attend les commentaires de mimimimimimimimimimi sur ce topic.
Clairement un changement de direction, même si on garde une bonne partie de l'esprit original du groupe, on sent un poil de In Solitude du coup, un petit côté King Dude aussi... j'aurais aimé avoir un peu plus de matos dans le style original, mais c'est pas dégueu pour autant.

Pas emballé perso. Pas assez "pop", ça chouine trop et c'est trop mou. Faudrait pas que ça devienne du goth ou du vrai post-punk, merde

Ça sent la déception par rapport à Climax. Ça accroche vachement moins que Beastmilk. Reste le plaisir de voir Linnéa Olsson

Je ne connaissais ni l'un ni l'autre, j'ai vu ça en gros touriste il y a quelques jours sur Paris, et c'était très bien ! Pas déçu.
Ultra easy listening en effet, mais loin d'être factice.
