German power metal act Brainstorm will enter the studio in early August to record the follow-up to 2014’s "Firesoul" album. The 11th full length studio album will be entitled "Scary Creatures" and is set for release in January 2016 via AFM Records (exact date to be announced soon). Once again, the band will work with producer Achim Köhler

"Scary Creatures" release set for January 15th / details unveiled!
Following up on the success of 2014’s “Firesoul” album, German power metallers BRAINSTORM didn’t waste any time to enter the studio and record a brand new masterpiece which is titled “Scary Creatures” and will hit the stores on January 15th, 2016. The band continues where they left off one and a half years ago with the previous release and also mix and mastering was once again handled by Achim Koehler. But right away you feel that “Scary Creatures” is just that notch better than “Firesoul”, more anthemic, heavy and all musicians plus vocalist Andy B. Franck delivering to the max. Starting with the infectious opening track “The World To See” (which will also be the album’s first single and video clip), BRAINSTORM once again prove why they are one of the most popular and respected metal acts in the European scene. The band will embark on European tour in February 2016, followed by many festivals around the world in the Summer.
Vocalist Andy B. Franck states:
"Scary Creatures" is a very emotional, an almost personal, album. All songs reflect the events and feelings of the past months, which made the music incredibly intense. To me, "Scary Creatures" is the logical successor to 2014's"Firesoul" and perfectly bridges to BRAINSTORM 2016. Also for the first time we achieved that many of the band members' children were integrated into several songs. It's another reason why the new album is very valuable and unique to us. Add to this the rough lyrical concept dealing with severals atrocities all over the world in the past centuries, "Scary Creatures" turned out to become an impressive metal album we all are proud of".

Je connais Metus Mortis et Ambiguity, et j'ai acheté récemment Liquid Monster,mais pas encore écouté. Globalement je trouve tout ça bien ,mais sans plus.
Voila ma modeste contribution à ce sujet.

Metus Mortis et Ambiguity sont mes 2 préférés, Soul temptation est pas mal, mais ça commence a tourner en rond pour moi..., et liquid monster et downfall, sont pas mauvais non plus, mais... c'est toujours les mêmes morceaux.... et depuis chaque fois que j'écoute 1 nouveau morceau ...c'est toujours la même chose que j'entends...
C'est dommage ce groupe était bon, très bon, mais ils n'ont jamais réussi à se renouveler depuis Liquid monster, pourtant il y avait du potentiel, un excellent frontman, des concerts énormes...
Par contre Unholy, sorti avant Ambiguity et avant l'arrivée d'Andy B Franck, est très bon.

Comme Rodger ! Sauf que j'adore aussi "Soul temptation", avec sa prod enorme, et des titres excellents de bout en bout.

Je trouve les derniers extraits du prochain album vraiment bof, sans inspiration
Du coup je vais aller m'écouter firesoul pour voir.

le précédent album, firesoul était correct mais sans plus non plus. Et c'est un fan qui parle. Un 3/5 mérité mais guère plus.

Et l'album est dans les charts allemands Ca devait faire une éternité que ça ne leur était pas arrivé !

Je l'ai moi aussi bien aimé, mais ce n'était pas la claque non plus. Mieux que les deux précédents, c'est certain. J'y reviens régulièrement avec plaisir.

Sur "We Are" ils ont essayé de pondre un hymne facile, mais pas sûr qu'ils aient réussi, bof pour moi... Marrant quand même leurs rejetons qui font les choeurs au milieu, même si ça n'apporte pas grand chose.
"The World to See" m'accroche bien en revanche! "How Much can you take" aussi.
Content en tout cas que ça marche pas trop mal pour eux en Allemagne.

C'est clair, les "we are" sont plutôt ratés je trouve.
Bon faudra voir l'album en entier, mais pour le moment rien que je retiens vraiment là dedans.

D'une manière générale l'album est un peu plus sombre, un peu plus arrangé, voire légèrement ambitieux aussi bien musicalement que dans les textes, une orientation qui devrait me plaire sur le papier.
Sauf qu'en terme de réalisation c'est mi-figue mi-raisin, l'album enchainant de bonnes idées et d'autres ultra conventionnelles et répétitives pour le groupe. Frustrant.
Finalement les meilleurs titres étaient ceux déjà diffusés, le reste navigue entre le très moyen voire ennuyeux et l'acceptable sans étincelle... Mention pour le chant atroce sur le bonus track, on dirait Ozzy après 3 rails de coke.
Je retiens quand même "Sky Among the Clouds", très mélodique et catchy.
