SEPULTURA broadened its musical horizons with "Chaos A.D." and "Roots", a pair of acclaimed albums that took the Brazilian band's hard-rocking sound in bold and exciting new directions. This fall, Rhino will revisit those back-to-back classics with remastered versions that are expanded with rare and unreleased studio and live recordings.

"Chaos A.D.: Expanded Edition" will be available on October 6 and "Roots: Expanded Edition" will be available on November 3, both as double-disc sets for $19.98 each. Double-LP versions, with similar track listings, will also be available for $31.98 each.

SEPULTURA was founded in 1983 by the brothers Max and Igor Cavalera with Wagner Lamounier and Jairo Guedes. Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. joined just a few short months later and in 1987, with the departure of Jairo and addition of guitarist Andreas Kisser, the solid lineup of SEPULTURA was final. The band quickly became an influential force in heavy metal music thanks to its dynamic studio recordings and intense live performances.

The band was in the midst of a creative and commercial peak in 1993 when it released "Chaos A.D." with Max Cavalera on vocals and guitar, Andreas Kisser on guitar, Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. on bass, and Igor Cavalera on drums. The record ushered in a more groove-based sound on songs like the singles "Refuse/Resist", "Territory" and "Slave New World".

"Chaos A.D.: Expanded Edition" includes a newly remastered version of the original album along with 17 bonus tracks. Among the highlights are a cover of BLACK SABBATH's "Symptom Of The Universe" that was originally issued as a B-side, plus nine scorching live versions of album tracks like "Territory" and "Biotech Is Godzilla". Also featured are several unreleased instrumental tracks that the band used during rehearsals for "Clenched Fist" and "Propaganda".

Three years after "Chaos A.D.", the band returned with "Roots", an album that was deeply influenced by Brazilian rhythms, which were incorporated into tracks like "Itsári" and "Ratamahatta". Since its release in 1996, the album has sold more than two million copies worldwide.

"Roots: Expanded Edition" features a newly remastered version of the original album, plus 17 bonus tracks. Standouts include demos for "Dusted" and "Roots Bloody Roots", instrumental versions of "Dictatorshit" and "Cutthroat", a version of "Attitude" recorded live at Ozzfest, and the unreleased first take of "Kaiowas".

SEPULTURA has sold nearly 20 million albums worldwide, including more than three million in the United States.

Premier Asphyx :
In order to celebrate their 30th band anniversary, Dutch doom death metal division, Asphyx, is announcing a very special edition of their debut album, The Rack, to be released on November 17th via Century Media Records.

Synched up with the band’s special anniversary shows at the Turock venue in Essen, Germany on November 18th & 19th (grab the last tickets for the Sunday matinée show while supply lasts), this limited edition 2CD & 2LP re-release features the carefully remastered original album as well as the entire record in original sequence covered by underground companions and talented newcomers as bonus.

The bonus compilation record features the following tracklisting:

1. Dan Swanö (Sweden) - “The Quest Of Absurdity”
2. Grave (Sweden) - “Vermin”
3. Desaster (Germany) - “Diabolical Existence”
4. Skeletal Remains (USA) - “Evocation”
5. Coffins (Japan) - “Wasteland Of Terror”
6. Deserted Fear (Germany) - “The Sickening Dwell”
7. Hooded Menace (Finland) - “Ode To A Nameless Grave”
8. Entrails (Sweden) - “Pages In Blood”
9. Purgatory (Germany) - “The Rack”

The release will be available as Gatefold 2LP + Double-sided poster limited to 2,000 copies and as 2CD Mediabook + Sticker-Set limited to 3,000 copies, adding extensive liner notes both by Asphyx (original and current members) and their featured stylistic peers. The release will also unveil the previously unseen and now completed original album artwork with commentary by longtime Asphyx designer Axel Hermann.

Asphyx vocalist Martin van Drunen comments about The Rack - Anniversary Edition as follows: “If some-one would have told us back in 1991 we would be celebrating a The Rack re-release 25 years after the original and even a 30 years band anniversary, I would have recommended that person to consult a damn shrink.

“But here we are in 2017, deathsters, going stronger than ever and with an extra-ordinary marvelous brand new release of The Rack on vinyl and as Mediabook CD. Of course this idea came up as usual after a few beers during the first recording session of “Incoming Death”, when one of us stated The Rack was 25 years in his private metal-collection already.

“And thus we felt like doing something special. Now what can be more unique then having colleague bands we respect and listen to ourselves covering every single track of the album in their own particular style? May that be of old wolves or young hunters from the global pack, they’re all represented. Therefore, as Asphyx, we are extremely proud and honored to have all these true spontaneous 3rd millennium doom/death contributions and also the magnificent remastering, preserving that grim, gloomy, loud and brutal sound of the old days.

“But better judge for yourselves... And have a beer with us on it. Cheerz!”

The 2LP format will be available in the following limited one-time pressing-only vinyl colour versions:

Black vinyl: 900x via all outlets
Golden vinyl: 100x via CM Webshop
Dark Green vinyl: 200x via CM Distro
Red vinyl: 100x via Asphyx at Anniversary shows!
Clear vinyl: 200x via High Roller Records
Silver vinyl: 500x via Nuclear Blast Records

Pour les fans de Queensrÿche (premier album) et Lizzy Borden :

The classic self-titled debut album from the New York metal band HITTMAN will be reissued via No Remorse Records on October 31, 2017, on the eve of the thirtieth anniversary of the record's original release in 1988. Also included as bonus material will be the original 1985 HITTMAN demo, remixed and remastered faithfully to the original, making this the first time it will have been released officially in the digital medium — a real treat for fans who have most likely only have heard it as a copied cassette, widely traded through the metal tape trading underground, often duplicated many generations, with tons of tape hiss, and degraded audio quality.

The release will boast cleaner, more vivid re-imagined cover art (yet still a hundred percent faithful to the original) and will be accompanied by a generous booklet of twenty-four pages containing never-seen photos, articles and other anecdotes, as well as liner notes by the underground press's first real champion of the band, Kerrang! and Metal Forces journalist Dave Reynolds. Dave took to the band early on, and was always an ardent supporter.

HITTMAN is also working on new material for a 2018 album, slated for official release at the the Keep It True festival in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany, where the band will perform its official reunion show, including all four surviving original members: Dirk Kennedy (vocals), Jim Bacchi (previously known as Bachi; guitar), Chuck Khoury (previously known as Kory; drums) and John Inglima (previously known as Kristen; guitars).

HITTMAN bassist Mike Buccellato (previously known as Buccell) passed away tragically in 2013 and the band, still a tight-knit family, decided to reunite, partially, to pay tribute to his honor, but also to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the release of "Hittman". The album (and demo), still coveted by many fans of traditional, classic and power metal, has been kept alive by unofficial bootlegs, and social media, and the band decided now was time to do an official re-release and present the best possible result.

Belle réédition de RUSH :
On December 1, RUSH will release a lavish, new and expanded edition of the landmark album "A Farewell To Kings" — the fifth studio album originally released in 1977, which introduced the radio hit "Closer To The Heart", album tracks "A Farewell To Kings", "Madrigal", "Cinderella Man", as well as enduring fan favorites with "Xanadu" and "Cygnus X-1".

"A Farewell To Kings - 40th Anniversary" will be available to fans in four distinct configurations, including (1) Super Deluxe Edition, (2) three-CD Deluxe Edition, (3) four-LP Deluxe Edition, and (4) the Deluxe Digital Edition.

The Super Deluxe Edition includes three CDs, one Blu-ray Audio disc and four high-quality 180-gram vinyl LPs. The set encompasses the Abbey Road mastering studios 2015 remastered edition of the album for the first time on CD; a complete RUSH concert recorded in February 1978 at London's Hammersmith Odeon, newly mixed by longtime RUSH engineer and original "A Farewell To Kings" producer Terry Brown from the multi-track live tapes; four newly recorded cover versions of songs from the original album by DREAM THEATER, BIG WRECK, THE TREWS and Alain Johannes; and an instrumental studio outtake of the spacey sound effects the band has creatively titled "Cygnus X-2 Eh". The Hammersmith show features, for the first time ever, over thirty-four minutes of unreleased performances including a complete "2112" suite, "Lakeside Park", a drum solo and "Closer To The Heart". The Super Deluxe Edition's audio content on its CDs is duplicated on its vinyl discs. Meanwhile, the Blu-ray audio disc contains a brand new 5.1 Surround mix of the album by four-time Grammy-nominated Surround Sound producer Steven Wilson, along with three original 1977 promo videos from a newly found two-inch quad video master significantly improving the video quality for "Closer To The Heart". The Super Deluxe package also includes an elaborate new fortieth-anniversary cover treatment by longtime RUSH creative director Hugh Syme, who has also created a new piece of artwork for each of the album's six songs, and an extensive twelve-thousand-word liner notes by Grammy-winning rock historian Rob Bowman.

The Super Deluxe Edition of "A Farewell To Kings - 40th Anniversary" will also include several exclusive items, including a unique King's Ring, with custom velvet pouch and neck chain; two lithographs with original artwork by Hugh Syme; a special twelve-inch turntable mat featuring distinctive artwork by Hugh Syme; and a reproduction of RUSH's original 1978 "A Farewell To Kings" tour program.

"A Farewell To Kings - 40th Anniversary" second configuration will be released in a three-CD Deluxe Edition, with the newly reasserted "A Farewell To Kings" album, the Hammersmith Odeon show, the four new cover songs, "Cygnus X-2 Eh" outtake, Hugh Syme's song-specific artwork and Rob Bowman's liner notes.

The third configuration will be offered as an audiophile 180-gram four-LP Deluxe Edition featuring the same audio content as the three-CD edition with double-gatefold packaging, thirty-two-page vinyl-size booklet, the special twelve-inch turntable mat, along with Syme's artwork and Bowman's liner notes.

The fourth configuration, the Deluxe Digital Edition, will feature the original album as disc 1, the complete Hammersmith concert unedited as disc 2, and the four covers songs plus the "Cygnus X-2 Eh" outtake as disc 3.

Les 2 premiers Evergrey ont réédités, surtout intéressant pour Solitude :
Two late ‘90s classic albums by Swedish premier metallers Evergrey are about to be reissued on December 1st in North America.

The Dark Discovery - the debut album - originally released in 1998 and Solitude, Dominance, Tragedy, which saw its first launch in 1999, already showcase the unique Evergrey sound which merges power-, progressive- and dark melodic metal to create the very own sound the band is known for. These two albums have not been available for a long time and steady fans requests were pushing for a re-release. In fact, now both The Dark Discovery and Solitude, Dominance, Tragedy will be available for the first time ever on vinyl and as digital download. A Digipak CD version is available too of course. The reissues come with an exclusive bonus track each and with new cover- and booklet layouts, created by Carlos Fides. Both albums have been remastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Pretty Maids).

Evergrey vocalist/guitarist Tom Englund comments: “Finally a chance for all our fans to get their hands on vinyl versions of our first albums.”

Metal, classic metal, thrash metal... NWOBHM! These are the defining genres that best describe Avenger. Not a random stab at a description, but an archive of metal styles the band have molded themselves to and related to since their NWOBHM founding over three decades ago, by three members of the cult band Blitzkrieg. During this time, Avenger honed their playing skills and built up a worldwide fan base, enjoying rapturous receptions at festivals and concerts from the Eastern seaboard of America, to the metal hungry fanatics of Europe and down to the tropics of Latin America. From the word go, Avenger always had this mission statement: get out and put on as intense and as professional show as possible.

No wonder that Avenger became one of the most respected British heavy metal bands, and that both of their albums released back in the day - Blood Sports from 1984, and Killer Elite from 1985, have a legendary status today, and are demanded by new generations of headbangers. Thanks to Dissonance Productions and Back On Black Records, both classics will be available on both CD and LP format on May 18th, 2018, and it’s safe to say, that these will be the “ultimate editions”. The albums got dynamic mastering by Bart Gabriel (who recently mastered reissues of bands such as Cirith Ungol, Sortilege, and the new Pagan Altar and Crystal Viper albums), both of them include previously unreleased bonus tracks, and include previously unseen photos from band’s archives. But that’s not all: stay tuned, as Avenger haven’t said their last word yet.

Pour les fans de Marty Friedman :
"Hawaii (the band and the island) represents a unique and very unsettling chapter in my career," says heavy metal guitar virtuoso Marty Friedman (Megadeth, Cacophony). "The band had a unique cast of characters in and around it, and a great story line, but we couldn't slay the beast that was battling us every step of the way - the fact that we were on a tiny island literally in the middle of the ocean."

Originally released in 1984 on vinyl only, Hawaii's Loud, Wild And Heavy represents a unique chapter in the early career of Marty Friedman. Listen to "Bad Boys Of Metal" at this location.

The self-titled Deuce album includes historic recordings of Marty Friedman (made together with the Tension members, Tom Gattis and Billy Giddings). The album includes tracks from 1978 and 1979, which are great examples of well-crafted early US heavy metal, but also tracks recorded during the brief reunion of the band in 1993. Listen to "Barnburner" by clicking here.

Both albums have been remastered by Bart Gabriel (Cirith Ungol, Hexx, Pagan Altar), and except bonus tracks, the CD packages include thick booklets with extended liner notes and plenty of previously unseen photos. Both titles will be released by No Remorse Records on March 30th.
