Motörhead's frontman Lemmy Kilmister died from prostate cancer, congestive heart failure and cardiac arrhythmia, according to his death certificate. It was widely reported he battled an aggressive form of cancer before his death, but it has now been confirmed by TMZ that it was prostate cancer.

The legendary rocker had battled serious health issues for quite some time, cancelling shows, and he was 70 years old when he passed in December. Lemmy celebrated his 70th birthday on Christmas Eve (December 24th) and learned two days later that he was afflicted with an aggressive form of cancer.

The band's manager Todd Singerman said Lemmy performed through his illness in the past few years in order to not let his fans down: "To think of the balls it took to still play shows for the fans, to do the last show two weeks ago - and then drop? That's like a Rocky story to me. Courage at its best. [...] He was dying. He didn't know it, but his body must have felt it. He had nothing left."

Lemmy Kilmister, leader du groupe britannique de heavy metal Motörhead, a désormais son fossile: un groupe de scientifiques fans du musicien disparu en 2015 a officiellement donné son nom à un redoutable crocodile primitif préhistorique.A l'occasion d'une nouvelle description scientifique d'un fossile marin, des chercheurs du Natural History Museum (NHM) de Londres ont décidé de le baptiser «Lemmysuchus» - ce qui signifie le «crocodile de Lemmy", en hommage au chanteur et bassiste, a annoncé mercredi le musée dans un communiqué.

Le fossile a été trouvé au début du XXe siècle près de Peterborough en Angleterre. Il a été réétudié récemment par une équipe de chercheurs. Une doctorante en paléontologie, Michela Johnson, a découvert qu'il n'avait pas été correctement classifié. Lemmysuchus, qui vivait sous le Jurassique (-200 millions à -145 millions d'années), mesurait environ 5,8 mètres de long, et son crâne plus d'un mètre.

German metal queen Doro Pesch has confirmed to Brazil's "Inside With Paulo Baron" that she was one of several people who received a bullet from late MOTÖRHEAD frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister as a personal gift. She said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Two weeks ago, I got a little box from America. It came to my mom's house. At the moment, I'm in Germany. I go back to the States in two weeks. But I was in Germany. And then my mom said, 'Hey, do you expect something?' And I said, 'No.' And then she said, 'Shall I open it up?' And I said, 'Yeah, open it up.' And she said, 'There's a letter in it. And there's a little box in it. It's jewelry or something.' And I said, 'Okay. I'll wait. I'll get it.' And it was the bullet of Lemmy with Lemmy's ashes in there. And I tell you, I almost dropped dead. It was, like, 'Wow.' And then I heard that somebody said Lemmy wrote a list and he wanted his closest friends or family to have his ashes. And I've got this bullet right here. I had no words for it. It's pretty moving and touching. But in the letter, it said, 'He liked you a lot' or 'he loved you a lot,' and I thought, 'Oh, man. That feels so good.' That makes you feel like… Now I'm motivated for the next hundred years to do good and to rock the fans. That gave me so much love and so much energy."
