Le groupe allemand sort en octobre un coffret comprenant une compilation, un DVD avec bootlegs, des collaborations, etc.
While Northern German melodic metal band Mob Rules is currently applying the finishing touches to the boxed anniversary set "Timekeeper" - set for release on October 10th (Germany), October 13th (EU) and October 28th (North America) via SPV/Steamhammer Records - the musicians have revealed initial details about this special package which consists of two CDs, a single and a live DVD.

CD 1 has Mob Rules presenting the 15 most important songs from the previous eight releases, among them classics such as 'Black Rain', 'Hollowed Be Thy Name', 'Astral Hand', 'Rain Song' (Live) and 'Cannibal Nation'.

CD 2 is the fulfillment of the band members' longstanding dream: "We've always wanted to invite guests to the studio who have been important to us and our development and who have become friends," explains drummer Nikolas Fritz, referring to a long list of renowned musicians who have contributed to Timekeeper, among them Udo Dirkschneider (U.D.O.), Bernhard Weiß & Marco Wriedt (both Axxis), Amanda Somerville & Sascha Paeth (both Avantasia), Peavy Wagner (Rage), Michael Ehré (Gamma Ray), Herman Frank (Accept), Corvin Bahn (Uli Jon Roth, Saxon), Herbie Langhans (Sinbreed, Seventh Avenue), Stefan Lill (Vanden Plas) Chitral Somapala (ex-Firewind, Red Circuit) and Peter Knorn (Victory). These artists can be heard on newly recorded Mob Rules classics, the cover versions 'Lights Out' (UFO) and 'Run With The Wolf' (Rainbow) as well as two brand-new songs which Mob Rules composed exclusively for Timekeeper. "This boxed set reflects the band's past, present and future," comments Nikolas Fritz.

Timekeeper is rounded off by a DVD featuring recordings from the 2011 Mob Rules performance at the Prog Power US festival in Atlanta/USA plus extensive bonus material. Nikolas Fritz: "Our fans kept asking about those film recordings, that's why we have now had the material cut and its sound mixed. A great souvenir, also for ourselves."

The real eye-catchers are the cover artwork and 44-page booklet which are part of the elaborate box, featuring scores of photos from all phases of Mob Rules' 20-year career, a special feature being the fact that each one of the limited boxes has been numbered individually by hand, making this boxed set a very special fan item.

Germany's Mob Rules will release their new album Beast Reborn on August 24th via SPV/Steamhammer.

"Beast Reborn is a great album filled with catchy tunes that will stick with you. Fans of melodic metal should definitely check this one out!" - Jens Bogren (Fascination Street Studios)

Energetic, massive, focussed - that’s how Mob Rules appear on their new album. The success of their previous album Tales From Beyond was the impetus being used by the six rockers to bundle their energies and produce this new and very straightforward album. With dense sound, straightforward songs and the familiar big melodies, Mob Rules go directly to the listener’s ears. Rough and fast-paced they move across the roots of metal, to haunting, modern compositions, which makes their sound more fresh and up-to-date than ever.

New band member Sönke Janssen also has a hand in this: Being the new second guitarist he expands and completes Mob Rules’ sound spectrum. Not only within the band things are moving, they also get input from outside: Jens Bogren took over mastering. He works with great artists like Kreator and Amorphis at his Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. Bogren is a real guarantor for a punchy sound. Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann (Orden Ogan) is responsible for most of the choirs and yet again accountable for the mix of the album is Markus Teske.

Mob Rules take full advantage of their potential and show their strength precise and focussed. With Beast Reborn, Mob Rules draw the logical consequence of their progress
and at the same time dare to experiment with new things.

Beast Reborn will be released on CD digipak, 2LP gatefold (incl. 1 bonus track), limited boxset (incl. CD, 2LP, towel, hand-signed photo card, 2 track bonus CD, patch, sticker etc.), download and stream.

Nouveau single.
North German heavy metal band, Mob Rules, have shared their new single, "Hymn Of The Damned", via Steamhammer/SPV. Previously written in 2019, the song is the story of a dystopian future that holds many challenges for the world.

Who could have guessed how quickly fiction and reality can resemble each other? This makes this anthem is so timely for 2023.

In an era in which the world faces so many crises, Mob Rules wants to convey a message of hope and cohesion with their song, "Hymn Of The Damned". They don't gloss over the situation, instead seeking to strengthen faith and give courage for us to reach towards a better future.

Singer Klaus Dirks explains: “When we wrote this song, we wanted to tell a story. I love these parallel worlds like in Mad Max or Waterworld. We wanted to write something that gives hope and reminds us that together, we can make a difference - be it in a fictional world or the real world. A message that is becoming more and more important!"

C'est pas révolutionnaire mais c'est tout de même fort plaisant grâce à une mélodie qui vise juste et un titre parfaitement exécuté.
