Procédé déjà vu pas mal de fois : le groupe allemand n'a plus les droits pour rééditer ses premiers albums, alors il réenregistre ses chansons favorites à la place.
Hamburg based power metal band Iron Savior was facing a problem: what to do when your early albums are not available regularly anymore but a re-issue is not possible due to legal reasons? Well, the decision was made to use this situation to give the material a sonic upgrade.
"We can’t re-release our albums from the Noise Records years in their initial form," band boss Piet Sielck says, "but we are free to re-record songs from these albums. We’ve approached this challenge with a lot of enthusiasm."
What Sielck refers to, became a 19 track strong double album now, titled "Reforged - Riding On Fire," which consists of the best and most popular songs Iron Savior has released so far. These 2017 re-recordings come with a much more powerful sound of course, but the band managed the task to keep the songs’ character and feel. The album will be issued via AFM Records on December 8th as a 2CD digipak and double vinyl.
Demand is steadily rising: especially after the band’s latest album "Titancraft" (2016), which became the biggest chart success in their history, new fans wanted to discover Iron Savior’s catalogue. They’ll now get the best 19 tracks with an upgraded sound – of course mixed by Piet Sielck.
"Reforged - Riding On Fire" is a highly enjoyable treat for old and new fans alike. The track list is as follows:

Pas écouté ce groupe depuis des lustres, mais de voir le track list avec "Riding On Fire", "Brave New World" et "watcher in the sky".... le premier album était quand même bien sympa...

En parlant du premier album, voici un réenregistrement. La batterie a l'air plus pêchue (Thomas Nack), par contre le son de guitare erk...

Pffffh je trouve ça vraiment dégueu... ça m'agresse les tympans, je suis pas du tout dans les techniques audio, mais le rendu est très metallique et compressé. Je reste avec ma première version

D'ailleurs si tu vas voir sur youtube, Piet Sielck répond directement à plusieurs commentaires qui vont dans ton sens, et il n'est évidemment pas du tout d'accord.

Ah putain Piet Sielck ne supporte pas la critique ! Alors je sais pas comment sonnent les derniers albums, pas écouté, mais c'est clairement beaucoup moins agréable niveau prod que l'original. Et vu que la partition est exactement la même au détail près (même tempo), ça n'a aucun intérêt.

Ils sortent la suite de ces réenregistrements, je ne vais pas créer un topic pour ça. A noter que Kai Hansen apparait sur les nouvelles versions cette fois, ce n'était pas le cas sur le premier volet.
"Yes! We are kicking off the promotion for the new Reforged album. Vol 2 will go by the title of Ironbound and is due to hit stores after summer this year.
We put a lot of effort into this and are proud to present this new old classics collection in production standard 2022. We are also really happy, that Kai took over a lot of his original vocal and guitar work. So for now enjoy Kai and dueling ourself on solo guitars."

Bah pourquoi pas... le premier Reforged était plutôt sympa - alors que d'habitude, ce genre de "goodies" me fait un peu chier.
Sur les derniers albums, Piet Sielck avait l'habitude mettre en bonus des versions réenregistrées de certain vieux titre. "Coming Home" sur The Landing était pas mal.
