Un peu de réclame sur le single et l'album :

Greek metal phenomenon FIREWIND, led by the young guitar sensation Gus G. (OZZY OSBOURNE) has returned with the scathing new album, Days Of Defiance, which is easily their defining moment.

The disc is set for an October 25th European release (October 26th in North America) and it’s a truly ambitious and dynamic opus featuring some of the most brilliant guitar playing the genre has seen in many years.

Below is a new trailer featuring a clip of the new 'World On Fire' single.

The video clip for the song was once again shot and produced in Gothenburg, Sweden, by acclaimed director Patric Ullaeus, who had already worked on the band’s previous clips as well as for other bands like IN FLAMES, LACUNA COIL and DIMMU BORGIR.

The 'World On Fire' single will be available for purchase on digital platforms starting on August 20th, 2010 in Europe. Here are the exact release dates per country:

Germany / Austria / Switzerland - Friday, August 20th
UK / Benelux / France / Greece / Denmark / Norway / Portugal / rest of Europe - Monday, August 23rd
Spain / Italy - Tuesday, August 24th
Sweden / Finland / Hungary - Wednesday, August 25th

Gus G. further states: “Usually when we write an album we let the music come to us and go with the flow. Maybe that's why our albums have variety and you can hear everything from super heavy songs, to speed metal shredding, to rock anthems and ballads. Days of Defiance wasn't much different in the making, but this time we recorded almost all of it in our home studios, which allowed us to be more relaxed. That's why I feel the new album features the best performances by all of us. One of our main goals though was to get a bit more of an ‘unpolished’ sound and be more raw. I think we achieved it and that gives an extra heaviness to the overall sound. We mixed the album in Helsinki, Finland at Sonic Pump Studios. Nino Laurenne (THUNDERSTONE) and Tapio Pennanen mixed it and they did a killer job. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.”

Greek melodic metallers FIREWIND, who feature in their ranks current OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Gus G., will release their new album, "Days Of Defiance", on October 26 (one day earlier internationally) via Century Media Records. The CD's striking cover artwork was designed by the band's longtime partner in all design matters, Gustavo Sazes, and can be viewed below.

Commented Gus: "I'm very excited and cannot wait for our fans to listen to our new album! We feel we've captured great performances and took our songwriting to the next level on this one. There's tons of cool guitar on there and I believe Bob [Katsionis] has finally managed to reach warp-speed with his keyboard solos! Even more seriously, I highly recommend that you listen to this album at a very loud volume.

"As for the artwork, it was once again done by our visual wizard and webmaster extraordinaire, Gustavo Sazes. This time we asked Gustavo to come up with a great landscape scenery, with a more traditional approach and even get the 'pencil' style of artwork on there, but also combine it with more modern stuff. So, he gave us that… with a slight futuristic, sci-fi element and I think the end result is stunning!"

Pour moi ils n'ont jamais fait mieux que Burning Earth (exemple ci-dessous), j'aime bien Forged in Fire aussi mais depuis j'ai décroché, je trouve qu'ils ont un peu trop perdu de couilles par rapport aux débuts.

FIREWIND have announced Kelly Sundown Carpenter (Adagio, Beyond Twilight, etc.) as new vocalist for their upcoming North American touring activities, after longterm vocalist Apollo Papathanasio parted ways with the band.

FIREWIND comments:
“Today we are in the unfortunate position to announce that Apollo has decided to step down permanently from the vocal duties in FIREWIND. For the past few years it was evident that Apollo could not keep up with FIREWIND’s ever growing and demanding touring & promotional schedule. Several times we've had to recruit replacements in order to continue touring the world and keep playing for our fans. We're lucky enough to have worked with some of the best Metal singers out there!

Although we're sad to announce Apollo's departure and we sure will miss him, at the same time we feel that the show must go on! FIREWIND is a band that has gone thru lots of ups and downs the past 10 years, but is still going strong!

With that said, we're happy to announce that Kelly Sundown Carpenter (Adagio, Beyond Twilight, Darkology) will be singing for us on the upcoming N. American tour with Turisas! This guy's a phenomenal singer and we can't wait to get out there and Rock! We're looking forward to our return in America. See you all soon!”

Bref, j'aime beaucoup !! Je ne comprendre toujours pas pourquoi, mais j'accroche vraiment à ce groupe !

^ Between Heaven and Hell est en fait leur tout premier album, normal que tu ne trouves pas de topic.
C'est une réédition que t'as chopée? Perso c'est l'époque de Firewind que je préfère, plus rentre-dedans, chant bien rauque, avec toujours ces excellents soli.
