Heavy metal legend Udo Dirkschneider will turn 70 on April 6, 2022. To celebrate properly, his most personal and extraordinary album to date will be released.
"My Way" contains 17 cover versions of songs that have influenced the musician and singer the most. Among them are all kinds of classics (by QUEEN, AC/DC, LED ZEPELIN, etc.)
but also some that you might not have expected from Udo.
Behind all the tracks there is not only a very personal story, but also a sometimes surprising arrangement, which in spite of their very individual implementation but live and breathe Udo's handwriting at any time.

La reprise de QUEEN a le mérite d'être UDOisée, au point de ne presque plus la reconnaître. Pour le meilleur et pour le pire dirons certains.
Mais au moins ça sonne fun comme du UDO.

La reprise devient intéressante quand l'interprête parvient à s'approprier la chanson.
Après faut aimer l'interprête...

J'avoue avoir un peu peur du résultat de certaines chansons mélodiques et/ou subtiles
Pour revenir à We Will Rock You, je n'ai jamais aimé cette chanson, hormis le solo de Brian May (comme toujours). C'est le stadium rock absolu, et de ce point de vue c'était une brillante idée je dois reconnaître. Mais en termes de composition, très en deçà des standards de Queen.
Ceci étant dit, la version rapide rocks!

J'aime beaucoup la version UDOisée, même si ça donne l'impression qu'il ne reste que les paroles.
A noter que son groupe de reprise est composé de Stefan Kaufmann, Peter Baltes et Sven Dirkschneider... Du coup en fait il aurait dû appeler ça au choix: - Dirkchneider and the Old Gang but two left - Dirkchneider and the Old Gang but two were not interested - Dirkchneider and not Enough Money for the Whole Old Gang United
