Hellripper (black/speed metal - UK)

Du speed avec un chant black, c'est leur 3ème album.

En fait c´est un one man band. James McBain fait tout tout seul, de la création aux enregistrements. Pour le live forcément il a des musiciens, dont notamment le batteur de Vacuous (un des groupes de notre célèbre Mike-Polar). J´ai eu la chance de voir Hellripper une seule fois live en 2019, c´est énorme.

Vu aussi 2 fois, dont lors du dernier Soulcrusher et ça envoyait bien en effet

C'est pas mauvais ! Je foutrais bien ça en concert avec des groupes genre Nunslaughter et Zoldier Noiz. Et si je peux choisir la salle cela serait les Pavillons Sauvages de Toulouse bien sur !

Oui en effet - c’est notre batteur Max qui s’occupe de la batterie pour le live. Il n’est pas sur l’album puisque c’est une boîte à rythme qui fait le boulot, ce qui est selon moi un peu dommage (quand je connais le niveau de leur batteur live)

- vous me connaissez bien, mais c’est le genre de détail que je trouve frustrant.

Mais sinon ils sont bien partis pour cartonner cette année, ça fait plaisir a voir.

Nouveau titre suite à leur signature sur Century Media :

Recently signed to Century Media Records worldwide, Scotland’s ibex-obsessed blackened thrash bastard of Hades, otherwise known as Hellripper, returns with a brand-new single, “Kinchyle (Goatkraft And Granite)”. The vicious new track can be found along with a music video, which was directed by David Gregory. Watch below.

Hellripper mastermind James McBain, comments: “‘Kinchyle’ is the McBain clan’s war cry and a fitting first glimpse at the upcoming album.

“Lyrically, the track was inspired by my experience growing up in the North-East of Scotland in Aberdeen (the Granite City), and reflects on what it’s like to feel trapped in a certain environment. I wanted to show a side of Scotland that is not necessarily the magical ‘postcard’ that a lot of people picture when thinking of the country.

“Musically, the track is very ‘Hellripper-sounding,’ and is the most ‘rocking’ song that I’ve written in quite a while, though there are a few new elements in there that I had fun experimenting with. The track was influenced by the likes of Tank, Running Wild and Motörhead, as well as bands such as Opeth and Witherscape.

“All in all, a very personal song both in terms of lyrics and musical influences. Hope you enjoy it… All Hail the Goat!”
