With A Sonication, Germany-based metal band, Obscura, launch the second of their trilogy concept, set to be released on February 7 via Nuclear Blast.
The group’s second (seventh overall) album for Nuclear Blast pivots on many fronts. Advanced, elegant, and yet refreshing, A Sonication sums up past endeavors effortlessly as it gazes with purpose and conviction into the future. Obscura are fan-renowned and critically acclaimed for challenging and then expanding upon norms. From Retribution (2004) through A Valediction (2021), the band flourished and made significant progress in a musical genre unprepared for a creative shot of German invention. A Sonication spearheads Obscura into a new era of extreme metal.

Un peu de drama puisque le groupe est accusé d'utiliser les créations des anciens membres pour ce single ci-dessus!
Les accusations viennent de l'ancien bassiste d'Obscura et de son nouveau groupe Exist :
J'étais complètement passé à côté de cette histoire. Et je vois que l'article cite Max Phelps, que l'on a vu dans le tribute à Death.

L'ancien guitariste du groupe Christian Münzner accuse également Obscura d'avoir volé ses riffs sur ce nouvel album, contrairement à ce qui lui avait été garanti.
“I just heard more of the new Obscura. There are riffs I had written and was guaranteed would not be used, and they are being used 1:1, note for note, stolen, copied, as well as entire song structures. Mr. Tech Death Genius strikes again I would say. If Nuclear Blast releases this they are thiefs [sic] as well. I will not let this slide and explore every legal avanue [sic]. There are limits to how much shit we should tolerate. These songs were intended for a solo EP I was planning to do after the Obscura split, now I can not do this anymore. This can not go on. Especially if we ‘agree to disagree’ because of creative differences and then you use other peoples work, after you say we are not on the same page what we want musically?”

Et il faut du courage en ce moment pour jouer avec Obscura vu la réputation qu'ils sont en train de se forger
