Southern German hard 'n' heavy powerhouse, Brainstorm, is finally breaking their musical silence. Their upcoming album, Plague Of Rats, is set to drop on February 28, through their new label partner, RPM.
Today, they’ve given fans a taste of what's to come with the release of the album's first single. Rest assured, the band haven't taken a detour into fairy-tale territory with this India-inspired record. Instead, they deliver a pure heavy metal anthem with the track "Garuda (Eater Of Snakes)".
The single tells the tale of Garuda, the mythological half-human, half-eagle creature known for slaying snakes and serving as the messenger of the gods. With its powerful riffs and Far Eastern melodies, "Garuda (Eater Of Snakes)" bursts forth as a dynamic and fitting introduction to Plague Of Rats. This track doesn't just live up to its name - it's a striking first glimpse into the album's sonic landscape. The accompanying music video, crafted by Mirko Witzki, delves deeper into the rich tapestry of Indian mythology and legends, immersing fans in this mystical world.

Le titre est très sympa, le refrain est bon, par contre je trouve que le mix sonne étrangement.
Le son de distorsion des guitares est assez brouillon je trouve...
(Et je ne parle même pas de la pochette qu'on dirait sorti tout droit d'une IA )

Alors, je dirai non, ça ressemble au style des pochettes des 2 précédents albums, et ça ne fait pas AI.
Et après vérification, je confirme que c'est bien le même artiste que les pochettes précedentes : Gyula Havanczák

Bon... j'ai vérifier avec un des outils donné par Flo sur le sujet dédié...
AI à 80% , donc il semblerait que vous ayez raison
Et donc j'ai vérifié Walls of skull et Midnight ghost et ce ne serait pas des AI (1%)
Je trouve bizarre tout ça, parce que c'est le même artiste et on reconnait son style ! Soit le site que j'utilise (sightengine.com) se trompe, soit maintenant cet artiste utilise l'AI pour crééer une base et ajouter "sa patte" par dessus.

Deuxième titre, le mix est un peu bizarre parfois comme évoqué plus haut, mais j'ai l'impression d'un regain de forme. J'espère, du moins.

Ce dernier titre me semble limite trop calibré pour le format radio : 3,30, un refrain trop répété qui m'a saoulé dés la première écoute.
J'ai préféré "Beyond enemy Lines" et son riff d'intro tapping

L'album est pas mal, mais il y a toujours ce défaut des refrains répétés beaucoup trop souvent... du coup, c'est assez saoulant au bout d'un moment.
Vraiment dommage, avec des petits breaks par ci par là et des musiciens un peu plus audacieux, ça aurait été vraiment cool!
