DREAM EVIL Frontman Unable To Sing For Six Months

According to BW&BK sources and confirmed by guitarist/producer Fredrik Nordstrom, DREAM EVIL singer Niklas Isfeldt is having vocal difficulties and he will not be able to sing for six months and the rumour has it that he may have to have surgery to correct the problem. The Swedish power metaller's last album, The Book Of Heavy Metal, was issued last May via Century Media.

... et il vient de quitter le groupe, c'était prévisible.

Because of personal issues and the fact that Niklas has problems with constantly recurring health problems, we have taken the painful decision to leave the band.

"All our friends are telling us that it's a bad idea to leave the band now when it's starting to get big, but you may come to a point in your life where you have to make a choice. We have now come to this point in our lives and the choice we have made is to put more time into our families and work.

"We've known for a long time that the bigger DREAM EVIL becomes, the more time it will take from the other important things in our lives, and in time it was inevitable to make a decision. Therefore, we have decided to leave Dream Evil.

"There are no hard feelings between us and the other guys in DREAM EVIL. We're still the best of friends and they totally understand the position we are in.

"So it is with the best confidence we now pass over the mantle to the new members Jake E Berg and Tommy Larsson [bass; ex-JAGGERNAUT, CHASTISEMENT]. They have our blessings and we are confident they will fill our shoes just perfectly and leave nothing for the fans to be desired.

Il vient d'un groupe connu le chanteur? En tous cas, c'est pas très rassurant vu que Niklas avait une voix magnifique à mon humble avis.

Au fait en parlant de Dream Evil, Snowy Shaw va participer au prochain album solo de Joacim Cans (Hammerfall), en tant que compositeur, batteur et même chanteur paraît-il.

Sweden's DREAM EVIL have been rejoined by vocalist Niklas Isfeldt and bassist Peter Stålfors. "Whatever the reason, the only important thing is that they are back in the family again, and that we're getting ready to finally enter the studio to record the new album and follow up the great success of 'The Book of Heavy Metal'," drummer Snowy Shaw (KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE, MEMENTO MORI, NOTRE DAME) said in a statement sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "A new chapter is about to be written..."

Swedish metallers DREAM EVIL, who were recently rejoined by vocalist Niklas Isfeldt and bassist Peter Stålfors, are currently in pre-production for their new album. Drummer Snowy Shaw (KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE, MEMENTO MORI, NOTRE DAME) "is now laying the final touch on the lyrics," according to a posting on his web site. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "See no Evil - Hear no Evil - Speak no Evil", "Glorious", "Speed Demon", "Let's Heavy Metal (Ourselves to Death)", "Gladiator", "Weekend Warrior", "Do the Sign", "21" and "Out of the Sunlight".

In other news, DREAM EVIL "has finally managed to find a suitable manager, who will work closely with them and besides cleaning up the mess, take things to a new level," according to Snowy.

In other Shaw-related news, Snowy has started working for Patric Ullaeus' Revolver Film Company as a production assistent and special prop maker. So far he has worked with IN FLAMES and DIMMU BORGIR, among other bands.

Throughout October Snowy kept busy running his company White Trash Records and doing promotion and loads of interviews for the official Halloween release of NOTRE DAME's "Creepshow Freakshow Peepshow". A second pressing for the 999-copy limited edition is currently being considered.

Isfeldt and Stålfors left DREAM EVIL in August, citing "personal issues" and "constantly recurring health problems." They were temporarily replaced by Jake E Berg and Tommy Larsson (ex-JAGGERNAUT, CHASTISEMENT), respectively.

DREAM EVIL's latest CD, "The Book of Heavy Metal", was released last year through Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Evilized", "The Book Of Heavy Metal" was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden and features special guest appearances by ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN keyboardist Mats Olausson (on the songs "Into The Moonlight", "Crusaders' Anthem", "Chosen Twice" and "Unbreakable Chain") and HALFORD/PAINMUSEUM guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak.

DREAM EVIL features in its ranks acclaimed producer Fredrik Nordström (HAMMERFALL, IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, etc.).

J'ai leur 1er album "the dragon slayer" que je trouve excellent et que je reécoute avec grand plaisir

Il est terrible, celui-là Les deux autres un peu moins, malheureusement

j'ai donc bien fait de ne pas les acheter
J'en avais écouté quelques morceaux, ça ressemblé pas mal au 1er album mais avec l'inspiration en moins je trouve

Swedish drummer Snowy Shaw (DREAM EVIL, KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE, MEMENTO MORI, NOTRE DAME) has posted the following message on his official web site:

"January 30th: SNOWY and DREAM EVIL = NO MORE. Less than a month before the scheduled recording of their fourth album, Snowy decides to pull the plug and quit, taking all his songs with him which he intends to use on his own...

"CAN(S)ELLED. The planned spring recording of Joacim Cans' [HAMMERFALL singer] second solo album which would see Snowy's participation both as the drummer and second lead singer as well as songwriter, has been postponed until further notice, due to the massive workload of HAMMERFALL.

"February 5th: Snowy works for Revolver filming CHILDREN OF BODOM's Stockholm show.

"February 11th: KAMELOT featuring Snowy. A KAMELOT live DVD to be filmed at the Rockefeller theatre, Oslo by Revolver Film Company. Snowy will perform in full regalia the vocal duet on 'March of Mephisto' as singer Roy Khan's evil counterpart. The part was originally done by DIMMU BORGIR's Shagrath on their last album and video.

J'espère quand même qu'ils vont sortir un nouvel album avant de splitter (éventuellement)...j'aime bien leur style de composition et surtout la voix du chanteur!

Plus grand monde au bataillon, mais bon on se doute tous que ca ne changera pas grand chose!

j'espère ! Mais bon les interventions de gus ca le faisait bien ! Et Snowy composait aussi non ? j'espère que les chanson sseront toujours aussi bonnes et... drôle !

Cool! Cette sortie est sur mes tablettes! Les titres des chansons ne sont pas originaux pour deux sous, mais c'est normal pour ce groupe!
En tout cas, tant que Niklas Isfeldt est toujours au chant, ainsi que Nordstrom à la gratte, ça m'intéresse

J'aime beaucoup ce groupe et j'ai bien aimé The Book Of heavy Metal

j'ai entendu un seul nouveau titre hier soir sur l'émission metal Paranoid sur radio Dijon campus (émission de référence! ) et ben ca reste du Dream Evil même après les changements de personnel conséquent et tant mieux!

J'suis pas convaincu perso...

ça y est , je le tiens enfin et je l'écoute sans fin .

le dernier DREAM EVIL est dans les bacs .

quel son , quel SON !!! ça arrache , ça déchire .

du gros son HEAVY ; ça fait du bien : DU dream evil .

sans le mésestimer bien au contraire , l'absence de GUS , ne se fait pas sentir .

son ramplaçant vest largement à la hauteur .

affaire a suivre ...

Le titre "fire battle in metal" est vraiment bon je trouve, en espérant que l'album soit de la même trempe!

on peut y aller les yeux fermés , c'est un bon album .

Superbe album. Beaucoup plus heavy metal et moins rock 'n' roll que le précédent, mais que c'est bon !
