The ongoing popularity of Motörhead:

"I suppose we had a unique take on things with the hair, the leather, the bullet belts! I think originally it was about attitude - ie, If you don't like it - fuck off! This did cause us a lot of problems with the business as we scared them to death but the fans really appreciated our honesty and could relate to our attitude. We were just like them and without them we would have got nowhere. I think the material was born out of our determination to keep going. We had so many false starts and disappointments that by the time Overkill came round in 1978 we had stored up a lot of energy and ideas and we were just waiting for the opportunity to show what we could do. Also we had a great following and we always felt we owed it to the fans who had been with us from the beginning. If there is one thing the three of us agree on it was how great our fans were. Then came Bomber in the same year. We were so pumped up we knocked it out in no time at all. These two albums were probably the truest albums as they came purely from the heart and we were smoking! Ace Of Spades was different. By then we were on our way and things have a way of changing but fortunately we just got the album done before things started to fuck up. No Sleep Til Hammersmith was the next album and this was relatively easy as it was just a case of recording some gigs but we managed to make it quite difficult as we were becoming quite difficult! This album was a great success but the rot had already started to set in so by the time we did Iron Fist the chemistry of the early years was all but gone.”

Je me suis pas mal envoyé les deux dernier skeuds ces derniers temps, et putain de merde, que c'est bon !!!

Il me rend fou ce groupe !!

Pas évident de choisir entre tous ces excellents albums...je n'ai pas encore écouté overnight sensation, snakebite love et le dernier! Par contre, un que j'ai jamais accroché, c'est we are motörhead.

Allez je vote ANOTHER PERFECT DAY, un grand disque, frissons à chaque fois que j'écoute des titres comme back at the funny farm, dance on your grave, le titre éponyme,...

Tout pareil que toi: je pense qu'Another perfect Day est un des meilleurs, tandis que We Are Motorhead un des pires.

Moi je resterai sur mon trio fétiche période fast eddie et phil "animal" taylor: Overkill/Ace of spades/Bomber. Après pour les départager c'est mort!!

Je suis pas grand fan de MOTORHEAD mais j'ai voté ANOTHER PERFECT DAY car c'est un putain de bon album

J'adore cet album

Je suis pas un grand connaissaur, mais pour l'instant mon préféré est Another perfect day. Le plus rock'n roll et le plus bluesy et j'adore Lemmy dans ce registre

1 - Overkill
2 - Another Perfect Day
3 - Ace of Spades

Honte à moi, mais je n'ai aucun album studio postérieur à Rock'n' Roll (1987).

J'en ai écouté quelques uns, mais je n'ai jamais autant accroché qu'aux premiers albums. C'est très bien fait, mais les morceaux me paraissent moins bons, c'est tout.

Je crois que tu es définitivement tombé sur le bon forum !!

Je remonte le topic car je trouve qu'il y a peu de votes au final, et de mon coté j'ai emprunté "March or die" dont je ne connaissais qu'un ou deux titres, et je dois avouer qu'il est bien bonnard ! Je trouve notamment "Stand" géniale

C'est un album que je n'apprécie pas du tout. Il est froid, mal inspiré. Je connais pleins de fans qui l'apprécient beaucoup et malgré les tentatives de ré-écoute, je n'arrive pas à lui trouver de qualités.

bonne idée j'avais pas voté, vu la disco du groupe c'est vraiment hyper hard !!!!

voté pour Overkill !!!! sinon dans les plus récents je trouive "Inferno" vraiment bon !!!

Du coup, à la biblio j'ai réenquillé sur "Overnight sensation", où j'accroche pas du tout, mais c'etait la premiere fois que je voyais le combo en live (97 à Marseille).
Et puis "We're Moorhead", et là c'est du bon !

Je vote Another Perfect Day sans état d'âme même si la trilogie Overkill/ Bomber/ Ace of spade reste référencielle dans leur discographie.
Dans les plus récents que je connais, je trouve qu'Inferno et le dernier tiennent vraiment bien la route.

Par contre j'accroche pas trop à Rock'n'Roll, Bastard, March or die et Snake Bite Love.

A part les tubes et les albums March Or Die et 1916 que j'aime bien, je connais pas trop Motorhead, ça fait partie de mes grandes lacunes. Je ne sais pas pourquoi Motorhead ne m'a jamais trop attiré. Trop rock et pas assez metal peut être, mais ça doit être un à priori.

Malgré une écoute correcte d'Overkill et quelques autres titres divers, je me disais cela pendant des années.
Jusqu'à fin 2006 où j'ai acheté le double live "Everything louder..." et là ce fut le panard total, depuis j'ai acquis quelques albums pour compléter mes connaissances, en regrettant de ne pas avoir creusé plus, plus tôt.
Et dépêche-toi, le groupe passe à Nantes fin octobre

je vais me faire une soirée Motorhead sur Deezer pour essayer de dénicher de la pépite.

Je savais pas pour Motorhead à Nantes, j'irai peut être si je suis pas trop fatigué par le concert de la veille à Rennes (Amon Amarth + Septic Flesh)

Overkill pour moi...ce son, cette ambiance (Capricorn !!!)...c'est juste ultime !!!

Voté "ace of spades" : pour moi c'est L' ALBUM ULTIME du groupe, d'une puissance et d'une violence terribles ! Ensuite "overkill"...Et j'avoue avoir lâché sur album après "rock n' roll" ; très récemment, j'ai acheté des albums réputés bons, "1916" et "march or die" : grosse déception, j'ai trouvé les titres faibles...

Quant à Lemmy, j'ai eu la chance, le privilège de l'interviewer 2 fois en 1986 et 1988 : en 88, dans sa petite loge de la Bourse du Travail à Lyon où il avait sorti une caisse de 64 Kronenbourgs

il sort quand le nouvel album de Motörhead? je suis sûr que ça sera le meilleur comme à chaque album

1916 pour moi, j'adore cet album.
