Edguy : "Rocket Ride"

D'après Jens, qui viens de m'appeler pour une interview, le groupe est en pleine période de mixage de leur nouvel album, Rocket Ride, qui sortira le 23 janvier prochain chez Nuclear Blast et sera produit par Sascha Paeth. De plus, le guitariste a annoncé que la tournée mondiale débutera en février, il ne sait pas où encore, mais, à affirmé que le groupe reviendrais en France. Enfin, chose importante et pas des moindres, le groupe va filmer un de ses shows durant les festivals d'été 2006 en vue de la sortie d'un DVD live entier en fin d'année prochaine.

EDGUY frontman Tobias Sammet has rejected Internet reports that he has committed suicide. In a posting on the band's official web site, Sammet writes, "Wow, you turn your computer on, surf the Internet and find out that you're dead before you even realize it yourself. I just felt a little cold and wondered why people around seemed to not pay attention to me anymore. But I'd never thought in a million years that it's THAT serious. However, I am alive and well and it's only the second time this year that people think I'm dead. If I had died, I would let you know, don't worry. See you on tour."

EDGUY have set a January 20, 2006 release date for their new album, "Rocket Ride" (Nuclear Blast). The follow-up to 2004's "Hellfire Club" was recorded with producer Sascha Paeth (who also worked with the band on their "Superheroes" EP) and is said to feature the band's most "diverse" material to date.

Ba on a eu un flyers à la sortie de Strato lundi où était inscrit EDGUY + DRAGON FORCE en Février au Transbordeur à LYON !!!

Dans cette interview, leur guitariste Jens Ludwig assure que le nouvel album contient de nouveaux éléments et un son plus live :

The Streets: Personally I think "Rocket Ride" has that distinctive EDGUY sound, but still it seems less power metal and more heavy metal, do you agree with that?

Jens Ludwig: "Well, I would say it's maybe less speed tunes than in 'Hellfire Club', but if you compare it to albums like 'Mandrake', we had already there only 3-4 up-tempo songs, so well, I don't know, maybe we got a little bit bored of making only fast tracks. And we changed a lot of things concerning the way of recording and producing the album."

The Streets: Yes, that leads me on to my next question. The production is excellent, I love that '70s sound! Tell me a bit about how you recorded it.

Jens Ludwig: "Well, it's actually a way that was very common in the '70s. 'Cause we recorded the basics (bass, drums and rhythm guitar) of the songs live, and it came somehow by accident. This time was the first time that we worked with an external producer, Sascha Paeth, and when we were in his studio to record demo versions of the songs, just to show him what the songs are all about and work on the stuff, he recorded the stuff we played live and he just came into the recording room and said, 'Hey, guys, this is sounding awesome!' It had so much more energy than if you do it step by step, and he asked us if we wanted to do the whole recording live. Actually we were not prepared for doing this, but on the other hand we are a band that rehearses a lot, that means we're doing all the song writing in the rehearsing room, so for us it didn't make such a big difference if we're playing the songs in the rehearsing room or in the studio. We did that and that's maybe why it sounds so fresh and more down to earth. Besides that we also took a step back concerning technology, we recorded everything on analogue tapes, which in the digital century is not particularly common nowadays. It adds a certain warmth to it, it sounds somewhat deeper. And that was actually something we wanted to achieve."

Déjà commandés depuis 1 mois le live et le best of et toujours rien

Le live est réellement excellent en tout cas!Avec ca t'as même pas besoin du best-of!

Oui réellement impressionant ce live

J'en avais téléchargé Tears of a mandrake, Paraoh (que j'écoute en ce momment même) et Avantasia sur le music club.
Le public qui participe c'est un + indéniable, les versions live de ces 3 chansons sont meilleures qu'en album.
J'ai pris le best of car les premiers albums n'étaient pas disponible à la commande.

Des détails sur l'édition limitée :

German melodic metallers EDGUY are currently rehearsing for their forthcoming world tour, which will feature the band's biggest stage set to date. In Europe, the limited first edition of the band's new album, "Rocket Ride" (due out January 20 via Nuclear Blast), will come out as a book version, featuring a photographic history of the group with never-before-seen pictures from their early days and one bonus track ("Land Of The Miracle", recorded live in Brazil).

moi j'ai récupéré la version c'est quoi "promo"(?), quand on entend à plusieurs moments dans les chansons "you are listening the new Edguy album,Rocket Ride" et malgré ca j'ai beaucoup aimé,donc je vais aller l'acheter ,en digi de préférence(je me fais toujours avoir par ces trucs là moi
