Pour les fans de Dan Swanö, le nouveau Nightingale est pour bientôt

NIGHTINGALE, the Swedish progressive-metal band headed by Dan Swanö, have set "White Darkness" as the title of their upcoming album, tentatively due next year. About 75 percent of the material for the forthcoming CD was composed by Dan Swanö's brother Dag (a.k.a. Tom Nouga). The record will reportedly be very 1970s-inspired.

As previously reported, NIGHTINGALE have been confirmed as one of the support acts for KINO (featuring members of such bands as MARILLION, IT BITES, ARENA, and PORCUPINE TREE) on December 17 at John Dee in Oslo, Norway. Also scheduled to appear on the bill is GAZPACHO.

NIGHTINGALE recently posted a live recording from their gig at Sweden Rock Festival 2005. The song "Into the Light" can be downloaded from the homepage of Dag Swanö at this location.

NIGHTINGALE completed their "10-Year Anniversary Tour" — covering Germany, Netherlands and Denmark — in April. A collection of re-recorded songs from the group's first three releases, "Nightfall Overture", was made available earlier in the year.

"White Darkness" is finished — mixed and mastered — and has been delivered to the record company, Black Mark. The release date had been pushed back several times for artistic reasons, but now the release only depends on the schedule of the record company.

Swanö forum members have uploaded (with permission) the "Somewhere between Sunrise and Sunset" radio show, broadcast on May 1 on the radio station WBWC.com, which featured Dan Swanö as the host. L'album sort le 4 juin sur Black Mark

The term "White Darkness" is an expression that lead singer and lyricist Dan Swanö used to describe the state of mind he was in during the aftermath of his divorce. Most of his lyrics on this album are diaries from months of soul searching. During this dark period Dan did not write much music, so his older brother Dag Swanö stepped in, armed to his teeth with killer songs from the past and the present.

L'expression "Obscurité Blanche" est le reflet des sentiments éprouvés par Dan Swanö après son divorce. La plupart des paroles sont celles que Dan Swanö auraient récoltées durant les mois où il se cherchait après cette expérience (bon ce n'est pas la traduction exacte). Durant cette période Dan n'a pas écrit beaucoup de musique, et c'est son frère ainé qui s'en ait chargé. (et après je ne saurais pas le traduire)
