Mainman Ralf Hubert of the legendary German progressive thrash outfit MEKONG DELTA is in the process of putting together a new lineup for the group. Joining the bassist in the band's current incarnation are returning drummer Peter Haas (ex-KROKUS, POLTERGEIST) and guitarist Peter Sjöberg (also known as Peter Lake from THEORY IN PRACTICE). A suitable singer for the band has not yet been found.

Déjà un changement de line-up puisque leur batteur Peter Haas est remplacé par Uli Kusch (Holy Moses, Helloween, Masterplan, etc.) qui fait son retour dans le groupe pour l'occasion. Même s'il n'en avait pas fait partie bien longtemps...

Former HELLOWEEN and current MASTERPLAN drummer Uli Kusch has rejoined legendary German progressive thrash outfit MEKONG DELTA as the replacement for Peter Haas (ex-KROKUS, POLTERGEIST), who is reportedly too busy to take part in the new album recording sessions. Kusch is no stranger to MEKONG DELTA, having previously played with the band on their 1988 EP "The Gnome" (when he was known as "Patrick Duval"). Completing the band's current lineup are mainman Ralf Hubert and guitarist Peter Sjöberg (also known as Peter Lake from THEORY IN PRACTICE). A suitable singer for the band has not yet been found.

Ce groupe est vraiment excellent.
Effectivement, ça faisait un petit moment qu'on entendait plus rien de ce groupe, mais ils n'avaient jamais officiellement arrêté.

Mainman/bassist Ralf Hubert of the legendary German progressive thrash outfit MEKONG DELTA has issued the following update on the progress of the recording sessions for the group's new album:

"Uli [Kusch, drums; MASTERPLAN, ex-HELLOWEEN] has finished recording the drums and did an excellent job. So the drums are done. The last two weekends I spent recording the bass in the studio of a friend of mine, so that's done too. As we can choose from many different guitar sounds we will decide before next week which basic guitar sound to use for recording. After that Peter [Sjöberg, guitar; also known as Peter Lake from THEORY IN PRACTICE] will start recording the complete guitar part."

MEKONG DELTA has yet to find a suitable singer to complete the group's current lineup.

Zardoz Music last year released a two-CD, 22-song compilation, entitled "The Principle of Doubt", containing selections from various MEKONG DELTA albums.

Ils viennent d'embaucher l'excellent et très sous-estimé/méconnu Leo Szpigiel comme nouveau chanteur, passé chez Scanner notamment

Legendary German progressive thrash outfit MEKONG DELTA has recruited Leo Szpigiel (ANGEL DUST, CROWS, SCANNER, DUKE) to sing on its upcoming "comeback" album. MEKONG DELTA guitarist Peter Sjöberg (also known as Peter Lake from THEORY IN PRACTICE) recently finished recording the guitar parts for the CD, which is expected to include an adaptation of the classical piece "Allegro" from the 10th symphony by Dimitri Schostakovich. The final vocal arrangements are now being fine-tuned and next week the group will begin laying down the vocal tracks.

Et quitte à bien faire, ils vont sortir un concert de 1991 en DVD!

Legendary German progressive thrash outfit MEKONG DELTA will release a live DVD containing the band's December 21, 1991 concert in Frankfurt, Germany. An exact release date will be announced soon.

je n'ai qu'un cd de ce groupe, "dances of death" mais il m a bien marqué à l'époque où je l'ai acheté.

le nouvel album, Lurking Fear, serait annoncé pour le 24 aout 2007 et sortirait sur AFM.

*Le Cd aura sa version vynile.

*Sur l'éditon limitée il y aura le dvd du live à Frankfurt de 1991, qui est également sorti en dvd simple.

Ils ont plus besoin de se cacher maintenant.

L'album sortira chez AFM.

Meking Delta.. j'ai fait des tas de recherches infructueuses pour me choper "visions fugitives", car il paraît que l'album est fait en son centre d'une pièce néoclassique de grande classe. et ça ça m'f'ait de l'effet.
j'espère que cette reformation va apporter des rééditions et la possiblitées de se procurer ces anciens albums.

Ah ben cette pochette est tellement belle que ce serait dommage qu'il y ait pas un format vynile !!

en attendant donc ce chef d'oeuvre de l'art graphique contemporain, un titre, Immortal Hate, est disponible sur le site en s'inscrivant gratuitement

a priori le précédent artwork n'était pas définitif... ouf
voilà celui qui devrait sortir le 24 aout prochain :

qui me semble bien plus dans le veine des pochettes précédentes avec l'espèce de squelette

et un titre,Immortal Hate , disponible en écoute sur leur myspace

et bien si tout l'album est comme ça, tant mieux, ce titre est bien varié avec la touche Mekong Delta. Cela dit j'espère que le son n'est pas définitif..

Encore des changements de line-up :

Le chanteur Martin LeMar (Tomorro's Eve) et le batteur Alex Landenburg (At Vance, Annihilator) rejoignent les rangs du groupe légendaire Mekong Delta !

Martin LeMar remplace définitivement Leo Szpigiel au micro, quant à Alex Landenburg, il dépanne momentanément le groupe pour les concerts à venir, le batteur Uli Kusch étant indisponible...

Je l'ai écouté cet album. Bien bonnard, mais un peu trop bien produit à mon goût. Je préfère les productions approximatives de leurs premiers album, question d'ambiance.
Ça enterre pas les classiques du groupe, mais c'est du costaud.
