Ça sortira cet été, pour les fans du regretté guitariste de la NWOBHM...
A brand new Paul Samson CD, consisting of recordings the leader and founder of the seminal NWOBHM act SAMSON was working on in the months prior to his death in 2002, will be issued this summer under the title "PS..." No further details are currently available.

In other news, Angel Air Records will be releasing a SAMSON retrospective CD on April 3. Entitled "Tomorrow and Yesterday", the album will include an extensive (4,000-word) biography, and a 20-page booklet, featuring many previously unseen pictures.

Samson passed away at his Norfolk, England home during the afternoon of Friday, August 9, 2002 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Paul was 49 years old.

Look To The Future
British NWOBHM Samson just announced that band will re-release some of their albums. The next in the series of Samson reissues from HNE via Cherry Red on 27th April 2018 will be a 3 disc boxed set featuring Refugee, P.S.... and a previously unreleased album from 1989, Look To The Future.

Look To The Future was recorded in early 1989 by the continuing line up of Paul Samson, Toby Sadler (Keyboards), Dave Boyce (Bass) and Charlie Mack (Drums) along with new singer Peter Scallan. The completed album was considered by several labels to be rather contemporary for a Samson album and so the release was shelved, despite already being announced in the music press. Paul took the tapes back into the studio, reduced the keyboards and backing vocals and then added more guitars and replaced the bass parts before remixing, removing some tracks and adding two new instrumentals. The new version was released as Refugee in 1990.

When this reissue of Refugee was first discussed, it was suggested that these original recordings should be released for the first time and included in the package. The 11 tracks on the original track listing include re-recordings of "Too Late" and "The Silver Screen" from the "And There It Is" mini-album as well as a new take on the Samson standard "Losing My Grip". Another track found whilst restoring the tapes, "Who Do You Think You're Foolin'' has also been included, as well as two bonus tracks from the earlier still "Ignition" sessions featuring singer Mick White. Digital transfer and editing/pre-mastering by Rob Grain from the Paul Samson Archive.

Refugee is remastered from the original production tape and includes 4 bonus tracks from the 1989 Tommy Vance BBC Friday Rock Show session. P.S.... Is the final Samson album, completed after Paul's death by John McCoy, originally released in 2006.

This 3-CD set comes in a box and includes a 20 page booklet with sleevenotes by Malcolm Dome and previously unseen pictures and memorabilia from the Paul Samson Archive. Mastered by Tony Dixon at Masterpiece. Sleeve by Gilmour Designs.
