Excellent la photo !! Ils ont pas trop mal vieilli je trouve. Tom Araya s'est fait refaire les dents ou quoi ?

J'en profite pour dire que Slayer, c'est LEMETAL. C'est pas le groupe que je vais citer tout de suite quand on me demande mes groupes préférés mais putain, c'est culte de chez culte, y a pas un morceau qui me file autant la trique que "Mandatory Suicide", "Hell Awaits", "Angel Of Death" ou même "Cult" pour citer des trucs plus récents. En live, Slayer c'est toujours les patrons pour moi, y a pas à chier. Sans artifice, ils arrivent à tenir leur scène et à me filer des frissons. J'ai trop hâte au 26 mars putain !

Absolument pas d'accord avec toi: Slayer c'est PAS lemetal. Metal Church c'est LEMETAL si tu veux;Mercyful Fate egalement; Riot aussi; Judas Priest aussi.

Slayer definitivement NON.

Par contre Show No Mercy est un excellent album de Speed Metal.

Faut arrêter d'exagérer, si d'un sens, Slayer tout comme le reste du Big-Four est très surexposé par rapport à certains contemporains mésestimés (ce qui peut moi aussi me tomber sur les nefs), on ne peut pas nier que le Slayer de la grande époque, c'était très LEMETAL.

Je suis d'accord avec toi. J'ai découvert Reign In Blood à sa sortie, j'avais 13 piges et ça a été la baffe absolue, sûrement le disque que j'ai le plus écouté de ma vie, que j'apprécie toujours autant 25 après et que j'emporterai dans ma tombe, mais ces derniers temps j'ai littéralement redécouvert Hell Awaits que j'avais trop souvent boudé (souvent au bénéfice de Show No Mercy d'ailleurs), et c'est probablement devenu mon album préféré de Slayer. L'ambiance la plus sombre, les riffs les plus meurtriers... Ce sont réellement les prémices du death metal — Trey Azagthoth et Morbid Angel doivent beaucoup à un morceau comme "Crypts Of Eternity".

Le maxi Haunting The Chapel n'est pas loin derrière, fantastique aussi.

Mais pourquoi tu veux perdre du temps à vouloir raisonner avec Dark Avenger, toi ?

Mes 3 preferes sont South of Heaven, Divine Intervention et Hell Awaits. Je vote pour ce dernier, pas ecoute tant que ca il garde encore toute sa fraicheur pour moi. Et ce titletrack de folie

Absolutely, when we were making those records we were really into MERCYFUL FATE, which is why the "Hell Awaits" songs are so long. We were really into them and that is why there are ten thousand riffs and all those songs. But that album was the last time you could totally see an influence on us. I think that was the last time when were impressionable. Now we know what we do and we know what the formula for a SLAYER song is. I mean, I know the difference between liking someone and being influenced by them. But I think a lot of musicians don't.

C'est drôle que je retombe sur ce message, parce que je réécoutais Hell Awaits tantôt et je réfléchissais à l'atmosphère particulière et au caractère plus élaboré des chansons de ce disque pour finalement comprendre que les deux mots clés étaient Mercyful et Fate.

Ouverture du concert de SLAYER au Yankee stadium à New York pour le concert du Big Four. C'est la
drumcam, donc on entend principalement Lombardo, mais personne ne va s'en plaindre. Images incroyables de l'entrée en action de Lombardo, face à la foule.

Ironiquement, je le trouve (encore) plus impressionnant sur "Disciple" (joué par Paul Bostaph à l'origine) que sur "Angel of Death".

Carrément ! "Angel of death" c'est plus "bourrin pareil".
Un monstre ce mec. Ca à l'air tellement facile quand il joue...
