Prosthetic Records has set an April 14 release date for "Live at Eindhoven '87", a complete recording of TESTAMENT's performance at the 1987 edition of the Dynamo Open Air festival. A metal history lesson of the highest order, "Live at Eindhoven '87" sees the group's original lineup — vocalist Chuck Billy, guitarists Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson, bassist Greg Christian, and drummer Louie Clemente — at their absolute hungriest.

Before Wacken, there was Dynamo.
For 20 years, the Dynamo Open Air festival — originally held in 1986 to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Dynamo rock club in Eindhoven, Holland — was one of metal's most important annual events, peaking in 1995 when 118,000 fans packed the grounds of an abandoned Dutch military airport to see four dozen acts play on three different stages over three June days.
In 1987, though, Dynamo was still in its infancy. For that matter, so was the performer who would leave the biggest mark on the event that year — Bay Area thrashers TESTAMENT. After their debut album, "The Legacy", made instant waves worldwide, the group was invited to make their European debut at the second Dynamo festival.
After a "warm-up" show at the 300-capacity Dynamo club the night before, TESTAMENT took the stage on a rainy June 8, 1987 and floored the 14,000 fans in attendance with an aggressive, fiery 45-minute set that showcased much of the material on "The Legacy". Five songs from their performance were captured on the EP "Live at Eindhoven", which was issued as a cassette and a 12" LP. However, the band's full set was never released officially — until now.
Featuring a stunning remastered sound, new artwork by Carson Slovak (CENTURY, ALL THAT REMAINS, ANTAGONIST) and liner notes by Skolnick, "Live at Eindhoven '87" is a must-have for TESTAMENT fans both old and new. hahaha! Le vieux bootleg ressorti de derrière les fagots! ça fait des années que j'ai cet enregistrement. Ne vous attendez pas à un son merveilleux. Mais l'énergie est bien là en tous les cas. Sur la pochette du bootleg on peut voir chuck billy en short, c'est du meilleur goût!
Two classic albums by thrash legends TESTAMENT – 1997's "Demonic" and 1999's "The Gathering" – will be reissued on gatefold double vinyl by Prosthetic Records on Feb. 3. Each will feature etched artwork on Side D and be limited to 1,000 copies worldwide. Additionally, 100 copies of "Demonic" will feature red vinyl, while 100 copies of "The Gathering" will feature gold vinyl.

Over the last year, TESTAMENT made one of the most successful comebacks in recent metal history. Their latest album, "The Formation of Damnation," featuring four-fifths of the group's original lineup, debuted at #59 on the Billboard Top 200, the highest-charting release of the band's career. A high-profile summer tour with Judas Priest, Heaven & Hell and Motorhead followed. The band is currently preparing to tour Europe with Judas Priest and Megadeth next month.
During the 1990s, TESTAMENT were one of the few bands unafraid to unabashedly fly the flag of heavy metal. Although the group's lineup changed several times over the course of the decade, vocalist Chuck Billy and guitarist Eric Peterson could always be trusted to deliver quality true metal in an era dominated by short-lived musical trends.
Their efforts didn't go unnoticed. All Music Guide praises "Demonic" – mixed by Michael Wagener (Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne), and featuring Gene Hoglan (Dark Angel, Strapping Young Lad) on drums – as "the most evil-sounding album of their career" to that point, saying that "'Demonic' rivals even Slayer's 'Reign In Blood' in terms of heaviness." Meanwhile, Metal Hammer calls "The Gathering" – mixed by Andy Sneap (Opeth, Megadeth), and featuring guitarist James Murphy (Death, Obituary), bassist Steve DiGorgio (Sadus, Death) and Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo – "skull-flattening perfection," adding that "if there is a more important late '90s metal album, we'd love to know what it is.

"Demonic" and "The Gathering" were reissued on CD in 2008 and are currently available on all major digital platforms. Prosthetic plans to reissue additional TESTAMENT titles later in 2009, including the first-ever official CD release of the band's complete performance at the 1987 Dynamo Open Air festival.
cet ep de l'époque est un indispensable de la disco de Testament, le son du vinyl est vraiment acceptable, ils auraient très bien pu en faire un live officiel à l'époque. le ressortir maintenant ouais pourquoi pas... y'a quand même pas mal de titres en plus par rapport au vinyl, mais bon remasterisé un live je trouve ça tragique !

Ben le remasteriser, comme tu l'aimes.
Et accessoirement générer un peu d'argent pour le label sans trop se fouler.
Remarque, le boot est peut-être pas aussi répandu que ça... je l'ai cherché cet aprem, et je me rends compte que j'ai plus la cassette...
Chier putain, j'ai dû la bazarder quand j'ai refilé mes cassettes copiées il y a quelques années...

Disons que le bootleg, même s'il est répandu ne possède pas un son énorme, il faut monter le volume pour l'écouter dans de bonnes conditions...
CD commandé via Amazon (pour la modique somme de 10 euros!), je l'attends avec impatience!
