Night Eternal

NIGHT ETERNAL will be the title of the new MOONSPELL album. The recording sessions will take place between the 7th and the 31st of January 2008 in Denmark's finest Metal studio, Antfarm. Tue Madsen, who worked with the band on the Under Satanae project, will be producing MOONSPELL's new opus. The band has revealed some of their song titles already: Shadow Sun, Night Eternal (title track), At tragic heights, Scorpion flower, Spring of rage, Hers is the twilight among others songs that will take part of this new work. Further into the concept it was disclosed that it refers to the "wear and the tear of the Earth", how we are consuming its energy and its vital force and how it will take its revenge upon us. Memorial's musical line was taken a step further and Night Eternal will be a quite intense album itself, darkly atmospheric yet really heavy and catchy. In Night eternal expect nothing but great guitar riffs, breathtaking songs and epic atmospheres.

The exact release date will be announced soon yet the album is coming out in May. The band is totally enthusiastic and eager to release it and to present it to the fans and hopes to be able to post some songs online on moonspell.com and myspace.com/moonspell as soon as the promos are ready for the press, around one and a half month before the record is released. A studio diary will be posted regularly just like it was for Memorial on both site and myspace.

Live shows are now being booked for 2008 and the band is already confirmed for festivals in Czech Republic, Spain, and Germany and a US tour as well as a Euro tour will be announced as well as visits to other territories, some of them for the first time.

There will be, at first, two editions of the record: A limited double digipack with different artwork, one bonus track ("Age of Mothers"), a different version of the song "Scorpion Flower", the full album as well as a bonus DVD containing all video clips from "Memorial" plus "Finisterra" "making-of" footage and three live clips from last year's performance at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany; plus the jewel case edition, to which the band hopes to add at least another bonus song.

Former THE GATHERING and current AGUA DE ANNIQUE vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen makes a guest appearance in the song "Scorpion Flower", singing a duet with MOONSPELL frontman Fernando Ribeiro. All other female choirs were performed by the Crystal Mountain Singers, composed of Carmen Simões (AVA INFERI), Sophia Vieira (CINEMUERTE) and Patrícia Andrade (ex-VOLSTAD, now in THE VANITY CHAIR). Niclas Etelävuori of AMORPHIS played bass on the album, which features artwork by Seth Siro Anton (PARADISE LOST, SEPTIC FLESH). Band photography was handled by Edgar Keats.

aucun chant clair dans Night Eternal... Tout en clair avec Scorpion Flower...

Ca varie au moins les plaisirs !!

C'est du tout bon pour moi, ma préférence allant quand même au 1er titre.. le 2ème étant beaucoup plus atmosphérique.

Vivement l'album !!!

et pour une fois il font une pochette qui ressemble a quelque chose !

Ca nous change de Royal Canin..

Bien cool les extraits !

Par contre, ça ne m'inspire pas confiance l'histoire des 2 pochettes en fonction de la version qu'on achète... J'espère quand même qu'on retrouve d'une façon ou d'une autre cette superbe pochette quand on prend l'édition limitée !

Excellents, ces deux nouveaux titres

Le tire "Scorpion Flower" ressemble bigrement au "Empty Room" de Trail of Tears. J'adore ce genre de compos.

Même si j'ai toujours bien aimé Moonspell, je les ai toujous préféré live que sur CD, car sur scène ils sélectionnnent leurs meilleurs titres de chaque période et ça tue tout!!!

Alors que sur chaque CD, il y a des titres que je n'apprécie pas. Mais là sur ce nouvel album il n'y a qu'un seul titre que je trouve en dessous du reste (moon in mercury) ; mais tout le reste est excellent pour moi.
Alors certes c'est prématuré de dire cela, alors que je n'ai écouté qu'une dizaine de fois l'album en streaming et qu'il n'est pas encore sorti, mais je me demande sérieusement si Moonspell ne vient pas de pondre son meilleur album ....

Après quelques écoutes, j'aime beaucoup ce petit dernier ! Plus varié que le précédent et avec de nouveaux éléments (les solos de grattes !

) qui évitent au groupe de tourner en rond !!

Il est vraiment trop bon cet album!
Il tourne en boucle en ce moment!
Par contre je n'ai toujours pas pris le temps de regarder le DVD (ni de coller le sticker sur ma caisse de gratte

)
j'essaierai de me le mater ce soir.
