Une petite question. J'ai uniquement le 1er album en fait. Est-ce que sur les autres le chanteur est meilleur ? Je trouve qu'à lui seul il gâche tout l'album qui pourtant a des très bons morceaux.

Power Quest cherche un bassiste:

U.K. melodic power metal band POWER QUEST has issued the following update:

"Unfortunately, we have to begin 2009 with some sad news. Bassist Steve Scott has decided to make his move to New Zealand a permanent one and as a result has decided it is time for him to leave POWER QUEST. We are all very sorry to see him go but wish him all the best in his new life in New Zealand."

Steve Scott commented: "Well, it's been almost 10 years with DRAGON HEART (now DRAGONFORCE) and then POWER QUEST playing alongside keyboard legend Steve Williams. Looking back over those years, it has been a fabulous time both recording and touring. Too many funny stories, as usual, from the tours to go into, but maybe I'll write a book or bring out a DVD with it all. I would like to thank the guys in the band and management for the great times we have had and I wish them all the best with the future tours and recordings. Life is so sweet here Down Under that it just makes damn good sense to me and to the band to pass the 'torch' of power metal bass playing over to someone else... someone who lives a bit closer than the other side of the world... so the quest goes on."

POWER QUEST keyboardist Steve Williams added: "Well, it is the end of an era, for sure. Having formed the band with Steve back in 2001, and having played together since 1999, it will certainly be strange not having him alongside us. As you can tell, Steve seems totally happy with his life in New Zealand and that's a cool thing. Thanks for everything over the years, dude; we're gonna miss ya!"

POWER QUEST will begin the search for a new bass player immediately. Ideally the band is looking for someone based in the U.K.

Allez hop c'est déjà fini pour Chity :
U.K. metallers POWER QUEST have parted ways with Sri Lankan vocalist Chitral "Chity" Somapala (FIREWIND, FARO, AVALON) — a little over a year after the Germany-based singer first joined the group.

Commented the band: "We are sorry to have to announce that Chity Somapala has left POWER QUEST, making the appearance at Bloodstock Open Air his last with the band. Chity decided that, at this stage of his career, he wanted to move away from metal to focus on his solo work which is more rock- and blues-based."

Added POWER QUEST keyboardist/mainman Steve Williams: "Clearly the last thing I wanted after releasing the 'Blood Alliance' album earlier this year was to have another lineup change, having been through so many in recent times. Having said that, we all have to do what is right for us at specific points in time and we part ways with Chity on very good terms and wish him all the very best for the future. Myself, Andy [Midgley; guitar], Paul [Finnie; bass], Rich [Smith; drums] and Gav [Owen; guitar] have been auditioning potential replacements for the past couple of months and we have now decided on who will be the man to take up the frontman rôle in the band. We would like to thank everyone who has submitted recordings and travelled to auditions as well.

"We are already hard at work rehearsing for the U.K. dates in November and we can promise quite a different setlist to what we have been performing so far this year.

"We will be revealing the identity of our new frontman very soon... This guy blew us away at the auditions!

"The first shows with the new vocalist will be in Bedford on November 25th and Wakefield on November 27th, and the Wakefield show will be streamed live on the web!"

Et le split un an plus tard :
U.K. melodic metallers POWER QUEST will be calling it quits in 2013.

Keyboardist and founding member Steve Williams commented as follows: "I've decided that now is the time to say that the QUEST is over. From a business perspective, it is getting harder and harder for us to break even. None of us make any money from POWER QUEST (we all work day jobs) but I have been losing significant amounts of money when on the road for the past few years. No matter how much you love something, there comes a point where you have to look at the facts, not the dream.

"I love nothing more than touring and making records, but if there isn't sufficient demand for the product then there comes a time when reality has to bite, unfortunately.

"I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me and POWER QUEST over the past 12 years.... It is very much appreciated and it is what has kept me going through the years. It's been a great ride and I've had the pleasure of having some great musicians in this band who I am proud to call my friends. Steve, Alessio, Andrea, Francesco, Rich, Paul, Andy, Gav, Colin, Chitty, Adam, Andre, Bill, Oliver, Gav Ward, ZP, Sam Totman, Pete and Ben... you guys have played such a huge rôle in making POWER QUEST what it has become and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

"My dream as a youngster was to make one album. It was not about being a rock star or making lots of money, although that would have been nice :-) It always has and always will be about the music first and foremost, so to have released five albums is way beyond anything I could have dreamt of, to be honest.

"Huge thanks to those who have done so much behind the scenes over the years as well, without whom it would have been immensely difficult for me. Step forward Manuela Fröhlich, Anna Walker, Simon Burrell and Sprocket.

"But it is you, the fans, who have joined the QUEST and supported the band through all the ups and downs over the years that I save my final words of thanks for. You guys have been inspirational to me! I've always said that POWER QUEST fans are the best in the world... and that is as true today as it has ever been. I hope you will understand my reasons for this decision and I hope to see as many of you as possible in the months and years to come.

"We will be looking to do a couple of farewell shows in 2013 and hopefully make them a fitting way for us to take our leave.

"It's never an easy thing to know when the time is right to move on to pastures new, but I believe that time is now.

"Through the wind and the rain we'll meet again..."

Et bien sûr la "reformation" juste 3 ans plus tard :
The rumours on the fan pages were true: Power Quest is back. Not only has the band announced their comeback after three years, but they are also working on new material for the sixth Power Quest album.

Band leader Steve Williams said: "I'm genuinely thrilled to be bringing Power Quest back from the shadows. I've had a lot of ups and downs over the past few years but I cannot wait to unleash the new line up. The atmosphere in the rehearsal room the past couple of months has been electric."

There are also some changes to the line up. Alongside Steve are Power Quest stalwarts Rich Smith (drums), Gav Owen (guitar) and Paul Finnie (bass). Completing the new look line up are Dan Owen (guitar and twin brother of Gav) and new vocalist Ashley Edison who also fronts UK outfit Dendera.

There will also be future headline shows. The only one confirmed so far is at Camden Underworld in London for Saturday, September 10th 2016, apparently joined by "some very special guests". Power Quest has also parted ways with Napalm Records and are currently looking for a new label.

Le résultat :
After announcing their comeback, Power Quest finally reveal some of the new material the power metal band has been working on. The U.K. group released the lyric video for the title track of the new Power Quest EP, Face The Raven, which features the vocals of new singer Ashley Edison. See if you like it.

The band has recorded 2 brand new songs plus a re-recording and re-mix of a song from the back catalogue for the new EP which will be released exclusively at the live shows in Derby and London on September 9th and 10th. Artwork for the EP is provided by Felipe Machado, who previously worked on Blood Alliance and Master Of Illusion.
