Nouvel album prévu pour le 17 avril, pour les fans de groupes à la Opeth

Italy's NOVEMBRE will release their fifth album, "Materia", on April 17 via Peaceville Records. The complete track listing is as follows:

NOVEMBRE will be supporting KATATONIA on a European tour beginning on April 20 in Glasgow.

"Materia" is NOVEMBRE's first release for the Peaceville label. The band's last CD, "Dreams d'Azur", came out in 2002 via Century Media.

tu sais quel est le nom de ce groupe avant de s'appeller NOVEMBRE ??

si tu gagnes sans tricher et aller chercher sur le NET je t'offre leur première démo et je te raconterai une anecdote à ce sujet !!

L'anecdote concernant les CATACOMB italien et nous était que nous nous disions chacun les TRUE CATACOMB !!

Nous nous étions sans des TRUE du C*L et eux aussi....

enfin ça ne nous à pas empéché de trader quelques démos et de penser que nous étions meilleurs qu'eux !!

Hey, j'ai vu CATACOMB live en première partie de .. SHUD à Montpellier dans un club qui s'appelait le Philactère, ... en 90 ou 91 !!
C'était vous ?

Terrible, ce show ! Peu de temps après, ce club est devenu un club sado-maso !! Ha ha !

Terrible, ce show ! Peu de temps après, ce club est devenu un club sado-maso !! Ha ha !

je pense pas... on a joué avec shud (sur Marseille, miramas...) à coté de Montpellier (Jacou exactement en première partie de NAPALM DEATH ) mais ton concert au PHILACTERE ne me dit absolument rien !!
mais à cette époque, mis à part les Italiens de CATACOMB je pense que nous étions les seuls autres.... t'es sur de ne pas te tromper ??

Je suis certain du truc, au moins pour SHUD et pour le lieu, y aillant joué moi même avec mon groupe à cette époque à plusieurs reprises. Mais je peux me tromper pour la première partie ... ça date pas d'hier !! Putain, presque 15 ans !!

En tout cas, si c'était bien CATACOMB, ça déchirait grave !!

Le groupe est de retour, avec des changements :

Almost 8 years have passed since we've seen Novembre releasing their last work, The Blue. Now the band is up and ready to record a new album as yet untitled, but scheduled to be released later this year via Peaceville Records. The album will be mixed by Dan Swano at Unisound Studio and it will feature 10 songs. You can expect more news to be revealed soon!

Guitarist/vocalist Carmelo Orlando comments: "Seems like our 'little' break lasted a tiny bit too long, but as I've often stated when asked, our comeback was just a matter of time. What matters now is that a new album is about to be recorded. Once again we'll join forces with Dan Swano, the man that gave shape to our first two albums, and to the whole Death Metal scene. It's gonna be the result of a long and relaxed period of time, in which I could write a ton of new tracks, ten of which will go into this new act, to be released through our prestigious and faithful ally Peaceville Records. I wanna thank all the fans and friends that have constantly written to me during these years, giving me the energy and motivation to make this happen."

In addition, the band is going through a line-up shift as long-time drummer and co-founder, Giuseppe Orlando left the band. The drummer comments:

"It's with great sadness that I have to announce that I'm not part of Novembre anymore. This long period of silence was really needed to understand who we are and I've personally realized that this is the right thing to do for the band's good and mine. I really would like to thank Carmelo and Massimiliano & a big thanks goes also to all the people that followed and supported me and Novembre during the years!! This is not the end but a new season of life, stay tuned!"

A noter la participation d'Anders Nyström (Katatonia, Bloodbath) le temps d'un solo.

Et le titre de l'album est l'acronyme de "Union des Républiques Socialistes Animales", qui est finalement devenu "La Ferme des Animaux" (traduction du "Animal Farm" de George Orwell).

After a period of inactivity since 2007’s The Blue, which involved the departure of longstanding member Giuseppe Orlando, Novembre returns with a new set of potent and poignant tracks, effortlessly transitioning between soothing, epic, melancholy and intense, from what is one of the originators of the whole atmospheric death/doom scene.

Headed by founding member and writer Carmelo Orlando, and with a reinvigorated musical alliance with Massimiliano Pagliuso, the lineup is completed by Fabio Fraschini (previously bassist on the Materia album), and David Folchitto on drums. There is also a special guest appearance from Anders Nyström of the Swedish Doom masters Katatonia, adding his own unique ‘cold’ touch to the album’s single track, “Annoluce”.

URSA was recorded at Blue Noise Studio, and PlayRec studio by Massimiliano Pagliuso, then mixed and mastered at Unisound Studios by Dan Swanö (Opeth, Katatonia, Bloodbath). Cover art comes courtesy of Travis Smith.

Carmelo Orlando comments on URSA: ”This album is a very important step in my life. It got me closer to what some may call ‘maturity’. I’ve been able to delve even deeper into the chasm of the subconscious and unearth gems I didn’t think existed. Lyrically and conceptually I explored new shores. I moved my ever-inwards headlights, and for the first time I dared to point them outwards, against the squalor of this Orwellian apocalypse we’re committing towards the Earth and its sons, on a daily basis, in quasi-total indifference. The album is indeed called URSA (the acronym for “Union des Républiques Socialistes Animales”), which was the title initially chosen for the French translation of George Orwell’s masterpiece novel Animal Farm.”
