King Diamond/Masquerade of Madness was originally released as a digital single on November 8th, 2019.

On February 23rd, 2024 Masquerade of Madness will be available for the first time on vinyl!

The 3-track LP features Masquerade of Madness, Welcome Home (Live at Graspop) and Arrival (Live at Graspop) all available for the first time on vinyl.

The 12’ LP will feature a collectable paper mask and download card.

J'aime beaucoup King Diamond mais un 3 titres au prix d'un album je trouve ça honteux et irrespectueux auprès des fans

Confirmation que l'album de King Diamond sortira avant celui de Mercyful Fate.

"We were not supposed to play any shows this year. We are very busy. Both MERCYFUL FATE and KING DIAMOND are writing new material. KING DIAMOND is also preparing production for the upcoming new album's release and tour. The first tour, hopefully, will happen — they're planning it right now — in the U.S. at the end of the year with the brand new album. That'll be the first album of two in that story. And MERCYFUL FATE are writing as well and recording. KING DIAMOND's album will be out first. It's where we ended when COVID came. The record label told us, Metal Blade Records, we are continuing from the same place where we stopped. And that was gonna be the next KING DIAMOND album, and that's what's gonna happen next. When it's done and we've toured that new KING DIAMOND album, MERCYFUL FATE will have a new album ready to be released. And then we will get out and tour that with the updated show production and everything. And when that's done, the next KING DIAMOND will be finished and ready to go out. And I even know what the production of the KING DIAMOND stage is going to look like this time, but also next tour. So there's a lot of things that are being planned."

- "Spider Lilly" : imaginez-vous dans la foule pendant ce nouveau titre, et sentez l'ennui progressif, voire le sentiment de gêne, qui s'y installe. La chanson n'est pas nulle, mais on attend désespérément le petit grain de folie qui va donner envie de s'intéresser à l'album (c'est quoi déjà son concept ? C'est sur un Arlésienne en cellule capitonnée qui parle à sa poupée ?)

- "Electro therapy" : très classique pour le King, mais c'est plus rassurant, avec une meilleure ambiance.

L'album ne s'appelera plus "The Institue" comme annoncé initialement mais sera une trilogie dont la première partie s'intitule "Saint Lucifer’s Hospital 1920".

Je kiffe ce titre et la vidéo est réussie je trouve

J'avoue ne pas être emballé, même si musicalement encore il y a un peu d'idée.
Mais la production est beaucoup trop digitale et stérile pour moi, aucune dynamique non plus, je ne pourrai probablement pas écouter tout un album dans ces conditions.

J'aime bien mais rien de boulversifiant, trop classique tout comme le concept, c'est vraiment le King Diamond de base des derniers albums... mais ça s'écoute.
