Le groupe va se mettre en pause, après une tournée anniversaire de Temple of Shadows (qui devrait donc avoir du succès).
Ce n'est pas bon signe mais ça reste mieux que de splitter, s'ils ont tous besoin de s'occuper autrement pendant quelques temps.
Worldwide renowned Brazilian metal heroes, Angra have announced on social media that they will be taking a hiatus from their career next year. Before that, the band will be on an extensive tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed album Temple Of Shadows, considered one of the most important progressive metal albums of all time.

“Dear fans and friends, it is with mixed emotions that we announce a sabbatical period in Angra's activities. After more than 11 years of intense dedication, composing, recording, and performing in various cities and countries around the world, we feel it is time to stop and recharge our batteries.
“This break is necessary so that we can return even stronger and more inspired. We know it will be hard to stay away from the stage as Angra, and we will miss the friendship and great relationship we have as a band. We are deeply grateful for the unconditional support and passion you have always shown for our music. Without you, Angra wouldn’t be what it is!
“Before we enter this hiatus, we have some special events planned. Soon, we will release our acoustic DVD, recorded at the Ópera de Arame, which we are extremely proud of. In October and November, we will embark on an European tour, and between late 2024 and March 2025, we will embark on the Interlude tour, where we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album Temple Of Shadows and perform the greatest hits of our career. We invite all of you to join us at these final shows before the pause, so we can celebrate these unforgettable moments together.
“During this period, the band members will focus on other personal and professional projects. We will always stay close to our fans in one way or another through these endeavors. Effectivement le communiqué n'envoie pas du rêve mais je préfère aussi que les mecs fassent une pause, quitte à revenir dans deux ou trois ans (voire plus !) avec un album bourré d'enthousiasme et d'énergie.
En tout cas je me refais Cycles Of Pain ces derniers temps et je le trouve finalement très bon. Il y a des titres comme "Gods of the World" que j'espère entendre en live à Toulouse dans une paire de mois.
Un concert de reformation du line-up de Rebirth aura lieu au Brésil en avril, avec donc Kiko, Edu et Priester. Mais le groupe donnera aussi un concert avec le line-up actuel.
Pour Kiko ce n'est pas étonnant (qui peut ne pas aimer Kiko? le gars le plus terre à terre du business), pour Edu c'est plus compliqué car Rafael l'avait menacé de poursuites judiciaires quand Edu sortait un live/DVD de chansons d'Angra. Edu vient de faire quelques concerts 100% Angra, ce qui n'est pas censé arranger leur relation sur le papier. Quant à Aquiles Priester il était carrément en guerre ouverte avec Rafael il y a quelques années.
On peut donc espérer que les tensions se soient calmées. Voire plus...

Et voilà que dans la foulée ils annoncent le départ de Fabio (avec un vrai hommage pour le coup) dont le dernier concert sera justement celui posté ci-dessus :
Brazilian metallers ANGRA have announced the departure of their frontman of the past 13 years, Italian-born singer Fabio Lione (VISION DIVINE, RHAPSODY OF FIRE, KAMELOT).
Earlier today (Sunday, November 23),ANGRA released the following statement via social media (translated from Portuguese): "It is with deep gratitude and admiration that ANGRA officially announces the departure of vocalist Fabio Lione.
"Fabio is an extraordinary singer and an unusual human being, who marked our history with his delivery, his artistic sensitivity and a voice capable of moving and impressing audiences around the world.
"Over 13 years, Fabio devoted a huge part of his life to ANGRA, often away from his home in Italy, his family and his routine. This constant effort, always carried out with professionalism, passion and generosity, is something for which we will have eternal admiration. There were countless trips, exhausting tours, hours and hours in the studios and moments that will remain forever in the memory of the band and fans.
"Over time Fabio ended up becoming a bit Brazilian too. Embedded our culture, our language, our humor and our way of seeing life. He became part of our musical family and gained a special place in the hearts of the fans who always welcomed him with immense affection. He is very dear to us all and his presence made a profound mark on all who had the chance to work with or interact with him. [His] legacy within ANGRA will be remembered forever through the music we made together and our time sharing the road and life.
"We wish him all the success and happiness in the next chapters of his journey. We are sincerely grateful for each year of dedication and the memories we made together. Our admiration remains intact and the doors will always be open to him.

Ah de mon coté j'avoue me réjouir un chouillat... J'ai toujours eu un peu de mal avec la voix de Fabio dans Angra... J'espère qu'ils sauront retrouver un bon remplaçant bien en forme comme ils l'avaient fait pour Rebirth (avec, tant qu'à faire, un nouvel album de cette trempe).
Leur concert de retrouvailles en famille sera en 3 actes : d'abord avec Fabio ainsi qu'un chanteur nommé Alírio Netto (ex-Shaman, il avait remplacé André Matos, et accessoirement c'est le chanteur de Kiko en solo), puis ensuite avec Edu, et enfin tout le monde réuni.
