Locicero commented on the band's rebirth: "First off, I did NOT see this coming. When Forbidden quietly disbanded the second time in 2012, I figured it was over. While I always apply the 'never say never' mantra to my life, Russ made it clear that he was completely finished with touring. My wingman and main dude from the conception of Forbidden Evil, Russ was my mentor and the guy who bought me beer when I was 15! I couldn't imagine Forbidden without him, so I had little hope of a future with Forbidden. Today Russ is happily retired and living the sober life. I have nothing but love for that and him. Everyone needs to respect his wishes like we do.

"So then ….. fast forward 11 years after our last show, Bay Area vocal talent Norman Skinner walks in to help us rehearse and sing a few thrash classics for the Bay Area Interthrashional set at Dynamo MetalFest 2022. WHAMMO! That's when it all happened by accident. Truly. Then it happens AGAIN when Norman sings 'Chalice Of Blood' onstage alongside Warbringer at the one Bay Area show of Bay Area Interthrashional. Holy fuck! We will go into detail thoroughly in the upcoming weeks. It's an amazing and organic progression story to tell.

"I now can announce that alongside my brothers Matt Camacho (bass) and Steve Smyth (guitar) we are officially introducing Norman Skinner (vocals) and Chris Kontos (drums) to the Forbidden family. As far as Kontos goes, he's well known as one of the Bay's very best and most respected drummers. Chris's work in Machine Head and Attitude Adjustment alone are legendary. Historically he's sat behind the kit in with Exodus, Death Angel, and Testament to name few. I've been lucky enough to play music with Chris in the past and present as well most recently with punk legends The Boneless Ones. We work amazingly well together and have remained great friends for over 30 years. In a long line of amazing drummers… Bostaph, Jacobs, Hoglan, Hernandez and Horn… Kontos is the perfect fit for Forbidden. Having 5 people all moving the same direction with enthusiasm and positivity. It's all I've ever wanted with Forbidden. Making the seemingly impossible, possible.

OMEGA WAVE, sorti en 2010, était une tuerie!
S'il ressorte un album de cette trempe, je suis preneur!

Je garde un très bon souvenir de leur passage au Hellfest il y a 15 ans et l'album Omega Wave était effectivement excellent, avec la patte thrashy classieuse de Forbidden, la voix génialissime de Russ Anderson entre agression et mélodie, et une touche sympa de modernité et de lourdeur ! Dans leus albums il n'y a que "Green" où j'adhère moins, même "Distortion" je le trouve excellent. Mais bon "Twisted Into Form" reste intouchable pour moi suivi du 1er "Forbidden Evil"

Je ressens un petit côté Voivod, étonnamment.

Pas trop fan de ce coté voivodien mais bon la patte du nouveau guitariste mais musicalement c est du beau boulot vivement le motoc

Deuxième titre beaucoup plus dans la lignée de Twisted into Form.
A noter que le nouveau guitariste est celui de Martyr (Canada) et Voivod. Et ça solote pas mal sur l'extrait.

Leur soliste quitte le groupe pour se consacrer à Voivod et autres. Il est déjà remplacé.

Reactivated San Francisco Bay Area metallers FORBIDDEN have parted ways with VOIVOD guitarist Daniel "Chewy" Mongrain and have replaced him with Jeremy Von Epp.

On Tuesday (November 18),FORBIDDEN shared the following message via social media: "Hey everybody, please help us welcome Jeremy Von Epp aboard as the new blood!

"When we first approached Dan about playing guitar with us, Steve [Smyth] amicably left the band while we still had a full table of obligations ahead of us. Mongrain was our very first choice and he agreed almost without hesitation.

"We all have deep respect for Dan and consider him one of the greatest guitarists in our Universe. To have him on stage with us was a dream come true. Chewy was a perfect fit. This being said, it was also on borrowed time due to his upcoming commitments with VOIVOD. Still, we managed it and intended on Dan being a part of FORBIDDEN's new album as he's already recorded and contributed to 3 songs.

"The touring part was always going to be touch and go depending on our overlapping schedules. This issue first appeared at Aftershock in Sacramento and Grita [Fest] in Colombia. We recruited Jeremy Von Epp and he stepped in like a champ! Jeremy was a seamless transition that caught us by a very pleasant surprise, so much so that it made us rethink our short term and long term plans. It took Von Epp almost no time at all to learn our language and solos of three unbelievably great guitarists in Glen Alvelais, Tim Calvert, Smyth and Dan Mongrain. No small shoes to fill.

"We got back from Colombia and reevaluated our situation. Jeremy needed to be in FORBIDDEN full time and we all agreed. It made too much sense with the chemistry we have together.

"Dan has been amazing, a great friend, player and now is like family to us. His contributions raised the bar of quality sky high. We are forever grateful for his genius and brilliant humor he shared over the last 1 1/2 years.

"Thank you, Dan! Also a sincere thanks to the rest of VOIVOD for letting us borrow him from you, albeit temporary. FORBIDDEN loves you all.

"As we move into this era of FORBIDDEN with Von Epp, we're presently writing, recording and pre producing new material that will take us to another level.

"There is much more exciting news that is just around the corner to share very soon!"
