Bientôt un DVD, intitulé "Live in Norway", qui sortira le 15 mai.

Reunited North Carolina-based progressive metallers CONFESSOR will release their "Live in Norway" DVD on May 15 in Europe and June 13 in the USA and rest of the world. "The footage [which was filmed in late September 2005 in Oslo, Norway] has beed edited and the mix is all finished up," the band write on their web site. "We are very excited that the DVD will be in 5.1 Surround Sound! So those of you with killer speakers should get the true live CONFESSOR experience. The DVD will include CONFESSOR studio footage, the music video for 'Wig Stand', including interviews with the characters and crew, and a special 'drum deconstruction' section by Steve Shelton."

CONFESSOR released their latest full-length album, "Unraveled", last fall via Season of Mist. The CD was produced by Dick Hodgin (ex-CORROSION OF CONFORMITY producer) and is "a wonderful representation of the classic CONFESSOR twisted guitar riffing and complex drumming, meshed with some more straightforward parts and a toned down and very melodic vocal approach," according to vocalist Scott Jeffreys. "We feel that the new album will certainly appeal to the old-school CONFESSOR fans and also will attract a brand new fan base who might not have heard us when we were together before."

CONFESSOR split up in the early '90s after releasing one full-length album (1991's "Condemned") and EP (1992's "Confessor"), with the with the rhythm section going on to form FLY MACHINE. CONFESSOR reformed in 2002 following the death of guitarist Ivan Colon, who passed away due to cardiac complications.

Je savais pas que ce groupe s'était reformé !

C'est assez bizarre comme groupe, une espèce de thrash qui part en vrille, avec des rythmiques de fou... Le batteur est un malade!

Il manque malheureusement les vocaux torturés sur le nouvel album, ils sont bien plus accessibles maintenant. Mais à part ça cet album est vraiment excellent et presque aussi bon que ce qu'ils faisaient avant.
Les parties de batterie sont toujours a tomber par terre

Je dirais plutôt que c'est du doom avec un son thrash mais c'est vrai que c'est pas facile à classer. Un groupe vraiment original et unique en tous cas et qui sortait du lot.

oui il y a pas mal de similarités avec Trouble, sur le nouvel album le chanteur semble aussi influencé par Eric Wagner.
Mais depuis la reformation c'est plus doom que Trouble, ils ont ralenti le tempo.

Ca ressemble maintenant un peu à KRUX, le groupe solo de Leif Eidling de Candlemass.

si tu en vois un trainer, ça risque d'être le plus récent, Condemned étant très difficile à trouver (à moins d'une réedition).

le lead guitariste, Shawn Mc Coy s'en va, en bons termes, le remplacant est une bonne connaissance du groupe, Chris Nolan.

Vocalist Scott Jeffreys of the reunited Raleigh, North Carolina-based band CONFESSOR has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"We are proud to announce the addition of Chris Nolan as lead guitarist of CONFESSOR. Shawn McCoy decided to pursue other interests and has left the band on good terms.

"We are very excited to have Chris REJOIN the band.

"For those of you who did not know, Chris is the guitarist who stepped in, back in the day, when Ivan decided to leave the band to go back to school. Soon after Chris joined Scott also decided to leave the band to go back to school. So Chris, unfortunately, was not in CONFESSOR for long before the breakup. At that time Chris went on to continue to play with Steve, Cary and Brian in their new band FLY MACHINE.

"We are all very happy to have Chris in the band and look forward to recording the next album with him.

"Despite some rumors, our label, Season of Mist is very supportive and anxious for a new record.

"We are pleased to report that the writing process for the new album is coming along quite well and we look to do some pre-production recording in the next few months."

les 3 demos vont être ré-éditées, avec 2 éditions, une normale et une die-hard (avec notamment un DVD bonus).

"Uncontrolled", a compilation of all three demo tapes from the acclaimed Raleigh, North Carolina-based progressive doom metal band CONFESSOR, will be relased on May 8 via Divebomb Records.
For the diehards, Divebomb has unearthed raw archival live footage as part of both an enhanced CD and bonus DVD. Jeff Wagner, author of "Mean Deviation: Four Decades Of Progressive Metal", has also contributed a brand new essay to the liners.

The demos themselves were converted from original reels and/or DAT by The Kitchen Mastering in 2004. Jamie King remastered the entire set in 2012 at his Basement Studios.
